  • Need to create a slideshow that plays on DVD...

I need to create a slideshow with about 100 images with music background. I need this to be on a DVD that can be played in any dvd player. iDvd is crap because of the backgrounds and stuff. Not sure how or if iMovie will work for this. I know I can create one in iPhoto, but I dont know how to get it to play on a DVD.
Anyone got any thoughts on this?

    Hi Pattimac,
I have purchased Titanium Toast 6, (with Jam, and have an external DVD burner. I was able to burn just the pictures but not the music. I would really like to know how--in easy to understand words--to make this work.
If you are referring to Toast 6 Titanium, you probably want to ask the question at Roxio user forum: http://boards.support.roxio.com/roxio/board?board.id=0000020 . If you want to know how to export iPhoto slideshow to iDVD, here is how: Exporting a slideshow to iDVD.

  • What are the exact steps needed to create a slideshow?

When I follow the steps indicated in the help section of QT pro, all I get is a one slide only movie! It is a bit frustrating since I purchased this software mostly to be able to create slide shows. Am I missing something? Is there a maximum to the number of pictures that can be used to create one? Thank you kindly in advance for any suggestions that you may have.

Please give your work flow. Hard to tell were you going wrong without it...
Here a tut on Apple site.

  • Creating a slideshow in flash pro cs5

Hey everyone! I need to create a slideshow similiar to this one http://justcreativedesign.com/portfolio/ click on one of the pictures and you will see what I mean. Basically, when someone clicks on the image, it enlarges has some text underneath it and a navigation place. It closes on click as well.
I am new to flash but am looking for any advice/tips/tutorials on how to accomplish this task.
    Thank You

I managed to get it work at the end...
First, the components directory was at this location:
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Flash CS5\en_US\Configuration\Components
Then, to make a component out of a MovieClip, right click on the MovieClip in the library and select "Component Definition" and check the checkbox "Display in Components Panel". What I did then was to right click on the MovieClip and selected export swc file, and saved it in the directory above. This exported only one Component, which was fine for me. Probably it would be possible to do something similar to save a library of components as a .fla or .scw or so, but I don't know the details.

  • Need help creating slideshow

I am trying to create a slideshow in iPhoto ’09 (OS 10.6.8). I have the images in an album under slide shows. I have sized each image to be no larger  than 1024px width, and no larger than 768px height. I have it set to use the aspect ratio of my monitor (but have previewed in all the aspect ratios). I have transitions set to random, and set to repeat slideshow. Nothing else is ticked. Music is off.
When I play (or preview) the slideshow, the heads and sometimes also the bottom of some of the images are chopped off.
    How can I fix this?

Is the aspect ratio of your monitor the same as the photos,  1:1.333? Make sure the checkbox to scale the slides to fill the screen is not checked.
Try this basic troubleshooting tip: Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE : If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
If that doesn't help as a test  launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it?

  • I created a slideshow using lightroom3 with music at 1070p, then put it to both a CD and a DVD.  I cannot play either back on my iMac.  It is jumpy and unusable on playback.  Different Video card needed?  Any Help?

I created a slideshow using lightroom3 at 1070p with music.  After transferring the slideshow to a DVD I could not play it back on my iMac without a lot of skipping.  Any ideas? Different Video card??

As I said, I've not used Lightroom (and I tried to find some info on the Adobe website, but they like to make it difficult to find things - the only thing easy to find was the "buy" button LOL).
I get some pretty good quality - and actually reduce my videos from 1080 to 720p because of the enormous file size, rendering time required, and the fact that I simply cannot tell the difference on my 42" HDTV. My workflow is: create a slideshow in Photo to Movie (I've found that superior to anything else I've tried), add that to my iMovie project (in between video clips, etc), add transitions, titles, or whatever. Export at the highest settings (experimented with different settings on a 30 sec clip) to desktop. Fire up iDVD, customize a theme/menu with videos, music, stills and then add my movie(s). Encode there to highest quality, create a Video TS folder (which will include all the files necessary so you can delete the originals if you want) or burn from there. If I do the folder method, I use Roxio Toast to burn it at the slowest speed available.
Using that workflow, my movies rock (if I say so myself  ) and have a great quality. And I've never had a coaster.

  • How can i create a slideshow with the newest version of dreamweaver?

I am trying to figure out how to create a slideshow but i cannot find any explanations for the new version of Dreamweaver. Can anyone help?

DW doesn't make slideshows.  You'll need to use a jQuery plugin or a 3rd party commercial Extension.
    Do a web search for:
    jQuery Cycle2
    jQuery WOW Slider
    jQuery Fancybox2

    Hi
Time needed can depend on several things.
    • less than 5 GB free space on Start-up (Mac OS) hard disk = Redicolous long times AND a DVD that most probably will not work OK
Medicine - I never go under 25GB free space
    • Use of strange file formats into iDVD - can force it to de-code first then re-encode - this can take long long times
    I use
Video - StreamingDV as from miniDV tape Cameras - or QuickTime Movies Converted to StreamingDV
    Audio - .aiff 16-bit 48 kHz - (no .mp3, .wma etc)
    • Use of old Mac - My G4 600MHz took about 24 hour per hour movie. my dG5 - about 2 hours per hour (I use Pro Quality encoding)
    • Pro Quality encoding - takes about x2 to process a movie

  • How to create a slideshow on one computer and edit on another?

I have created a slideshow on my home computer but need to be able to edit it on my work computer. I have all of the photos on both computers, but I don't see how to transfer the slideshow. It is an extensive show with a lot of editing that has already been done.

  • Creating a Slideshow in Dreamweaver or Adobe Bridge?

    Hi there
I was wondering if anyone has any advice on creating a slideshow?
I've created the basic pages pages for my site in dreamweaver, but I'm reading conflicting information on how to create a slideshow
It would be a homepage continuous slideshow, not one that is controlled, it just keeps sliding images across:
This sort of slideshow I'm looking to create
    http://www.sotostore.com/
    http://www.vooberlin.com/page/home
Do I need to create this in bridge? Or somewhere else? Or in Dreamweaver?
If it os in bridge, how do I then put this into my dreamweaver site?
Does anyone have any step by step instructions?
This is my second site, so I know what I'm doing, but I'm still very new at it
    Thanks in advance

    Hi there and welcome,
Since you mentioned that you're very new to web and dreamweaver, I would suggest looking up gallery plugin solutions. There's lots of free galleries out there that you could easily drop your own content into that would save you time. : ) Here's some great examples:
    http://www.1stwebdesigner.com/css/fresh-jquery-image-gallery-display-solutions/
However, there are ways to create your own. This tutorial by David Powers is really great for using CSS to do transitions on content. I would apply the same technique he used here in your own gallery/slideshow.
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/css-transitions-panel.html
Have you tried using Adobe Edge? This is the new HTML5/CSS3/Javascript publishing application and it is very simple to create a gallery in Adobe Edge. It's currently free for download because it's still in prerelease. Here's a tutorial that might be a little dated as far as UI goes (again the prerelease versions tend to change very quickly with their UI development) but you should be able to apply the techniques to the most recent release:

    Download Edge here:

    I hope this helps!

  • When I use lightroom to create a slideshow the aspect ratio is wrong when i burn it to DVD.  What am i doing wrong?

I use Lightroom to create a slideshow and then export it to software to burn to DVD to play on a TV.  When i view it on a computer the pictures are fine, when i view them on the TV the aspect ration is wrong.  Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong please?  Thanks

The template is a document in itself, it is not applied to an existing document whether it is a Pages document or a Word document converted to a Pages document.
You would need to either copy and paste content, using existing styles, or apply the styles to the converted Word document.
You can Import the Styles from an existing document and those imported Styles can be used to override the current document's styles:
Menu > Format > Import Styles
The process is simplified if the styles use the same names, otherwise you will need to delete the style you don't want and replace it with the one that you do want when asked, then the substitution is pretty straightforward.

  • I've created a slideshow. Some of the photos are "zoomed in " too much. How do I zoom back out?

I created a slideshow but some of the photos need to be adjusted (zoomed out) how do I do that with individual photos in the slideshow?

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a solution.  We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
what slideshow theme are you using?
    when did this issue start?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
    what fixes have you tried?
    where is your library located?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
    what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

  • Create a slideshow that ends in a mosaic

I would like to use my own photos to create a mosaic. I found plenty of software to do that. But, I want an audience to see the mosaic being formed. The only way I can think to do this is creating a slideshow where each of those photos would fall into place to create the final (mosaic) photo.
Does anyone know of a software or another way I can accomplish my goal of the audience seeing the mosaic being created?
FYI - not looking to spend a lot of money. But, I will buy software. I currently have, adobe CS3 (not to savvy in it) and non my mac - Final Cut Express (no pro, no motion)

That is literally a screensaver. Unless you know something I don't times and/or photos can not be controlled in that screensaver. I want this to be a presentation to people. So, I need a program that will allow me to dictate the order of photos to be used, the final photo that the mosaic will form to and timing

  • Advise creating HD slideshow

I'm looking for the best method to create a slideshow that ends up in 16x9, without stretching the images, for viewing on a large LCD HD TV. Something tells me that I might need to begin by cropping the original images in pre-processing, but I'd sure like to hear some specific steps from someone who has successfully accomplished this.
Prior to this point, I've usually started this process in iPhoto by exporting a slideshow as a .mov and then importing into iDVD.
    thanks for any tutoring here....

  • Why does PE10 crash creating a slideshow?

I have created numerous slideshows with many images using the nice Pan&Zoom features. However, PE10 will crash upon creating the output video. This is dependent on the resolution chosen.
I don't seem to have much trouble with 720x480 DVD output. 800x600 will also work most of the time, but 1024x768 will fail often.
I have been able to get all modes working by simply saving my project, closing PE10, reopening the app & prj, and then doing the output video creation.
So it seems there maybe some memory leak bug or something like that. For example, when the 1024x768 mode works, if I move onto more projects & video outputs, eventually PE10 will crash.
But if I close, and re-open, then all seems to be fine. PE10 wants a clean start.
PE10 is the first version I've had where Photoshop Elements has crashed numerous times for varied reasons, and yet Premiere Elements seems ultra stable in comparison.
Sure would love to see an update for both though from Adobe - why is there no update by now?

The slideshow output process of the Elements Organizer uses Windows Temporary files.  Therefore it is my suspicion that you are reaching some limit on those Temporary files - either the disk space on your hard drive or specific Windows OS limits on Temporary files.
    Geneeral considerations are
-- Therefore doing the Windows disk cleanup process for your hard drive might make available more hard drive space for the temporary files needed during the slide show editor output process.
-- Your reported results that closing Photoshop Elements and restarting again can avoid the problem (for awhile) seems to confirm the possibility of some type of space or temporary files  problem.
-- Since your are failing for 1024 x 768, I suspect that you are not actually burning a physical disc. So I think that 99jon's recommendation might need to be modified to say that you create the 1024x768 wmv file from Premiere Elements instead of burning a disc.
-- If your problem is insufficient hard drive disc space, then I doubt that sending to Premiere Elements for output can solve insufficient space.
-- If your problem is specifically Temporary files, then using Premiere Elements for output might avoid that problem.  However, I would try a Disk Cleanup first.
