Need to cut shape ONLY from a layer

For my design I have a shape that I wanted to show three states. When I try to save, it doesn't just save the shape, it saves the entire layer. There's a huge white border around my shape. Check the below link. Notice I have layer comps showing the three button shapes. I also have the rest of the design's layers turned off.

You can either crop it, or use slices. If you want the background to be transparent, then you will need to use a format that supports transparency such as png or gif.Jpeg does not support transparency.

Cut and paste from Windows to vi via putty

I'm using putty to access my linux machine from my windows machine, as my wife is using the mythtv on the linux machine...
I need to cut some text from a windows document and insert it into a document on the linux machine. I loaded up putty and can open the document in vi (I guess it really is vim), cut it from the windows document, and try to past into vi. I am sure I used to be able to do this by right clicking where I wanted the text to go, but now vi just goes into Visual mode (the bottom of the screen says ----(insert) VISUAL and I cannot paste.
Not sure what I did to start causing this behavior, or what to do to undo it, or whether I'm just remembering wrong, but reading internet sources seems to confirm I should be able to do what I am trying to do.

I have the same problem it started few weeks ago. I have Arch server without X so i have to ssh and maintain the server. To paste in vi i use the scroll button. Its not only in putty from windows but also in Linux terminals too except Linux terminals is way better, if the scroll button don't work you can just click on Edit and Paste or (shift+ctrl+v) from gnome-terminal.
When i try to paste using the scroll button i get this error message:
E353: Ingenting i register" my locale is Swedish so in English it translate something like this E353: nothing in register"

Applescript to delete from selected layer and page

This is part of a bigger script, but this is where I am having the problem. Hopefully very easy to solve, but driving me mad.
I want to delete a text box from the active page only, and only from one layer.
I can get it to work on one layer, but all pages. And on one page, but all layers.
Could someone please help me write the line to select both active page and layer "slug".

How do I use "Trim Paths" after "Create Shapes from Vector Layer" on a strokes only layer?

I have imported an illustrator file that was created in Illustrator CC 18.0.0. The file contains the outline of a logo. It is the logo with the fill set to none and the stroke set to 1px.
I drag the logo_strokes.ai file onto the composition, right click, and click Create Shapes from Vector Layer.
A new layer is created and in the Contents "drop down", a Fill 1 layer is created.
When I select the Contents "drop down" and click Add / Trim Paths, a Trim Paths 1 layer is created.
When I animate Trim Paths 1, it appears to animate the Fill layer, not the stroke.
How do I get it to animate just the stroke, and not show a fill at all?

I need to cut into a mask to reveal a layer. I have a alpha image with thousands of lights scattered around the image. I'm laying the lights layer over an image of a city to create more lights in various buildings. All I need to do is create some form of mask that when I cut into it reveals the lights below which is over the city. It's a basic question but I'm stumped. Thanks peeps.

Just target the upper layer's layer mask and set your paint brush to a good size black paint and paint the area you want the light to show through from the lower layer. Black will make the current top layer's opacity transparent in the areas you paint over.

Magic wand selection shape from one layer, drop to sub layer and copy that shape from that layer.

In PS i can Magic wand selection shape from one layer, drop to sub layer and copy that selected shape from that sub layer. How do I do this in illistrator, and moreover, from multiple layer at the same time.
For instance, in PS = Import an image of gold - select a text phrse with wand - drop to gold - copy paste = gold text.

Basicly I want to do what takes me 10 minutes to do in PS in Illistrator. LOL! I realize I must learn Illistrator; especially for logo design.

Photos from cameras or scans have only one layer (the 'background' layer).
You can start with that 'background' layer and duplicate it or add other layers in the editing process. For instance you can make a selection of a subject and put it on another layer; a common use is to desaturate the 'background' and to keep the color in the selected subject in your newly created layer.

FCP project files are NOT backward compatible with older versions. But you can export an XML file of your FCP 6 project, then use the XML file to build a new project in FCP 5. Check the manual for details.

I can see two CWB workflows - bencwbfy.wft and benssenrtfyi.wft. These are available under $BEN_TOP. You can open these workflows through the Oracle Workflow Builder and note down their workflow names. Thereafter, you can download the definitions of these workflows (most current workflows from the database) from the database through the concurrent program - Workflow Definitions Loader - which should result in the wft files on the destination you've provided running the concurrent program.
Copy those files from the server, and edit them locally using Workflow Definitions Loader to remove or redirect workflow notifications appropriately. Please be aware that this amounts to a customization so you should evaluate the impacts of doing this on your installation. Also, for CWB to support custom workflow, my understanding is that you need to be at Family Pack J or above (you may wish to validate this through Support, though).

I have interfaced DAQ PCI 6036-E with SC2075. I wrote a code to get data from analog input chl 1 and ch 2. I am getting data only from ch1. cables and hardware connected to sc2075 had been tested and are working properly. help please .Also, is it possible to test those channels from measurement and automation explorer and how ?.thanks

Yes, it is possible to test these analog input channels in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX). To do so, expand Devices and Interfaces, right-click on the PCI-6036E, and select Test Panels. On the Analog Input tab, you can set the Channel control to any of the device's channels. If both CH1 and CH2 function correctly in MAX, you will need to troubleshoot your code.

As long as you have a legitimate serial number, you can just download a trial version of the version you need from the public Adobe site, install it and input your valid serial number upon installing it.
You will need to apply all available updates, as all downloads are of the original release.
The Extended and the Standard version of Photoshop are one and the same binary. It's your serial number that makes it Extended or Standard.

If you are in the US that you can only use the US store - you need to be in a country and have a billing address in that country on your account to be able to buy from its store. You mean you copied photos from your camera roll to a new album, correct? Well, that's the way it works. The photos wern't actually copied to your new album, just pointers to the actual photos, which are still in your camera roll. So, yes, if you delete from your camera roll, you remove them from your phone.
