Need to deauthorize computers I don't have any more. Help!

I am trying to authorize itunes in a recent MacBook Pro I received from my company, but my account says I already have five computers authorized. How can I unauthorize three of the old ones?

When you reach your limit of five, you have the option once a year to deauthorize all. Then you can start authorizing again. There is no other way to deauthorize a computer you do not have access to. Deauthorize all then start over.

You can look at the material stored and see what you don't need and delete. But a better way is to get an external hard drive and move large quantities of material to the external storage. That will free up internal storage capacity.

Do you have sound coming from the audio output port using headphones? If so, when the plug is pulled out, is there a red light?

Need to reinstall windows but don't have any CD - Satellite Pro L20

Hi, I wanted to reinstall Windows XP home onto my Satellite Pro L20, but don't have any of the software my laptop came with (read lost the disks). I have a valid XP home key (as its stuck on the bottom of my laptop) but no disc so I tired using a copy of a Windows XP home cd, which didn't work, but did let me get as far as formatting the hard drive.
So right now I'm using Ubuntu, but want to reinstall Windows. Have valid product key but no software to reinstall.
Any suggestions?

So back to your situation:
For clean OS installation you have *_two_* options only:
- if possible order new copy by Toshiba authorized service provider in your country *do you have more questions about that?*
- you can install operating system using Microsoft installations CD *if you don't have it, it is your problem*

You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
1. Open iTunes on a computer
2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

HT1349 I have replaced the hard-drive and updated the operating system of my laptop computer. How do I deauthorize computers I don't have anymore?

I received an error message from iTunes store regarding my recent app purchase. I already have 5 authorized computers so I can't sync the purchased app from my current computer.
My problem is, within four months I replaced the operating systems to my desktop and laptop. As for the other 3 authorized computers are long gone (when I didn't understand I had to deauthorize computers).
Can someone help me with this problem? I can't get internet at my home so I have to go to the local library or coffee house and get wifi, so I need to access my itunes from my laptop. How can I reset these accounts so I can keep the two I need?

Need to Deauthorize Computers that don't exist, can't deauthorize all.

Itunes says I am at my limit of 5 computers. In acuality only 3 are active in my account right now. I believe the others are phantoms and are the result of system upgrades where the same computer is now recognized as new. I can't deauthorize all until June 30--the anniversary of the last time I had to do this. What options do I have other than waiting for 3 more months?

Hello and thank you for posting back. What it sounds like is the cable that connects to the screen from the motherboard has either come loose or has a issue after the fall.
To fix this it would have to be opened up and the connections checked. If there is an issue with the cable then it would have to be replaced. This will require either you opening up the system yourself and checking the connections and tha cable or sending it in for repair.

How do I easily redownload all my purchased songs that I got on my computer but don't have any more because I recently had to get a new hardrive?

I recently had to get a new hardrive for my computer from the apple store when my hardrive failed. I wasn't able to back up all my purchased itunes items before my computer crashed. Therefore, I've been trying to redowload them all by just going through my past purchase history in itunes and press reodownload. But this is really tedious. Is there a faster way to get all the music back? It doesn't redownload it when I press check for dowloads because it thinks the songs are already on this computer because they once were....

There's no list available from your end. If you're out of authorizations, use the Deauthorize All function.

If you don't have any of those computers you will have to email iTunes store support to reset your account. If you have just one of them, open iTunes, go to the Store menu, and choose to deauthorize all computers on the account.

If you've got 5 computers authorised for the account in question, and you need to free up authorizations, I'd do a "Deauthorize All" from one of the computers you have access to, and then reauthorize the computers you have access to.
