Need to delete movies to make space

Need to delete movies to make space fpr photos while travelling as iphone 4 is now full and I dont have the computer the phone is synced with
Surely there is a way to make some space as I will be away for a while
I do have a mcbook air with me but because drive is only 128mb it doesnt have my iTunes library
Thanks

Go to the menu that lists your movies in the iPod, and swipe right to left on the movie title you wish to delete, you will get a red "Delete" button on the right side.
Keep in mind you may be deleting your only copy of the movie, and iTunes does not have a way to re-download Movie purchases a second time.

  • How can I delete movies to make space?

I want to delete 2 movies I purchased from my ipad to create spacebut the instructions in the tutorial dont match what I see.  I dont have "movies list" to tap on, only pictures and when I tap on these the movies start to play.  How can I delete these movies?  I have no space for photos.

You should be able to see the list of movies you have synced on your iPad through iTunes on your computer. Are you using the media tabs across the top to select Movies? If so, make sure the movie you removed from the iPad is also unchecked in your Movie list. If it is there and still checked, it may try to sync back to the iPad, though I think it will uncheck it for you. If you have been purchasing your movies directly from the iPad, your movie may not show up in iTunes on your computer. You may want to Transfer Purchases from your iPad so they're backed up on your computer. If that is the case, let us know if you need help with that.

  • HT201272 Can you access paid for apps/movies from iTunes on another device if you have not synced? I need to delete movies from my iPad to make space but don't want to forfeit the purchase as have not synced movies to another device yet.

Can you access paid for apps/movies from iTunes on another device if you have not synced? I purchased movies on my new iPad, but need to delete some off as have no space left. I have not synced the movies I have purchased on my iPad to any other devices as yet and want to know if I can retrieve the movies from iTunes later if I removed them now without syncing first? I do not want to forfeit my purchases.. Please help!

You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option which is revealed in the iTunes app on your iOS device by tapping the more button at the bottom of the screen.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.
Try deleting the problematic book (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iBook store.

  • How can i delete photos to make space on my phone?

how to delete photos to make room on my phone

Photos that you have saved to an album from email, camera, can be deleted by taping the photo and then taping the trash can lower right corner.  Photos that have been synced to the iPhone from iTunes on a computer must be removed by syncing back to iTunes.

  • I previously downloaded The Walking Dead from iTunes to my iPhone. I deleted it to make space but now it no longer shows up on my purchased list on Apple TV. How do I get it back there?  My iphone shows it is in the cloud.

How do I get a purchased show or movie to show up on Apple TV after I deleted or from my iphone? It is in the cloud on my phone but nowhere to be found on Apple TV.

    Hello compugrrl998,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with watching The Walking Dead on your Apple TV.  I am sure you are eager to watch it on your television.
Have you tried checking specifically in Movies > Purchased or TV Shows > Purchased on the Apple TV?
Play previous purchases on Apple TV
You need Apple TV (2nd generation or later) to play content on Apple TV. Some features require the latest version of Apple TV software. If they're available in 1080p, you can play previously-purchased 720p HD TV shows and movies in 1080p.
    Movies and TV shows
On the Apple TV main menu, choose Movies > Purchased or TV Shows > Purchased.
Select the item you want to view.
    Choose Play.
    Download past purchases

If you are looking there and not seeing the episodes, I recommend verifying that you are signed in with the same Apple ID on the Apple TV that you are signed in with on your iPhone.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Sheila M.

  • Need to delete Movies for Archive & Install

I have a MacBook that my kids have stuffed with Movies. 1GB left of a 75GB disk.
Recently the machine started booting directly into UNIX BSD. I ran a disk check (fsck), no help. I ran Disk Warrior and it reported many errors that were fixed.
I ran Disk Utility's repair persmissions from the Install DVD and get "disk utlity has lost connection with disk management tool". I cant locate the iTunes file many suggest to move or delete.
I'd like to delete the MANY movies my kids have made to free up some space to allow an Archive Install.
Where do I find that directory and can I access it via:
    - Install DVD (couldnt locate a Finder!)
    - Single User Mode
    Thanks in advance,
    Rob

I'd use Single User mode. The cd command to change directories down to where the files are located, checking with ls (list) on the way, and then rm to remove the files, at least enough to get to where you can boot normally (couple of GB, then clear out a lot more).

  • Need help to move my unallocated space to my system partition

When trying to check the healthy state of my D partition in Disk Management, I find there is some unallocated space behind this partition. Moreover, comparing to create a new partition with the unallocated space, I think it is better to
move it to my system partition. Therefore, do you know how to get that started? What are your steps for me to expand my system partition?

OK! Based on your description, the unallocated space is not adjacent to your system partition, right? If so, you probably cannot directly add it to your system partition in Disk Management. If you insist, you also will find a grayed-out
    “Extend” option there.
Therefore, this is not proper for your situation. Just back up all partition data well and choose a third-party partition resizing tool to have a try. Search over the internet. You can find many efficient ones, like IM-Magic Partition
Resizer Free, GParted and Paragon Partition Master, etc.
Just carefully follow the tool guidance to safely move your free paces successfully.
Do not forget to back up partition data well.

  • Time capsule and time machine - permanently deleting files to make space

This may have an obvious answer - I recently bough TC and set up TM. Since TM backsups everything, what do I do if I want to delete a file forever, and never want it to be backed up in TM and take up space in TC? thanks

How are you trying to access these "old" files? That is are you trying to access them through Time Machine or directly from the Time Capsule using the Finder?

Freeing Up Space on The Hard Drive
      1. See Lion/Mountain Lion/Mavericks' Storage Display.
      2. You can remove data from your Home folder except for the /Home/Library/ folder.
      3. Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on freeing up space on your hard drive.
      4. Also see Freeing space on your Mac OS X startup disk.
      5. See Where did my Disk Space go?.
      6. See The Storage Display.
You must Empty the Trash in order to recover the space they occupied on the hard drive.
You should consider replacing the drive with a larger one. Check out OWC for drives, tutorials, and toolkits.
Try using OmniDiskSweeper 1.8 or GrandPerspective to search your drive for large files and where they are located.

  • I recently updated my iPad and backed it up, then deleted photos to make space for more now when I try to take photos it says "time elapsed" what does this mean and how do I fix it?

I Have an issue with taking photos my iPad mini 2 keeps saying "time elapsed" what's does this mean and how do I fix?

You are using PPPoE but there is no server to authenticate against.. or the modem is already connected and nothing else can join.
    Is this ADSL?
Do you have the modem in bridge?
How does it work with the modem working as router? ie what type of connection does your ISP supply.. eg PPPoE is only one.. PPPoA is another.. IPoA or ETHoA.. and sever other more specialised.. PPPoE can only work where it is supported.

  • Make space on a track?

    Hello,
I have a track full of clips and I want to make some empty space between two clips. How do I select everything after a certain point so that I can slide them all forward? Do I have to use the select box or is there some automatic way to do it? I know I can copy a clip, then insert it, then delete it to make space, but I am thinking there is a simpler direct way.
    Thanks!
    Bob

  • I need to make space on my Mac. If I copy a folder from iPhoto on to a hard drive, then delete it from iphoto then import it again, does it retain all my editing? It does not seem to retain Faces info and I have spent hours and days naming people :(

There is no way to export Faces information.
I'm not sure why you would do this:
If I copy a folder from iPhoto on to a hard drive, then delete it from iphoto then import it again,
If space is an issue then move the whole Library to an external drive:
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

  • Hi all, I'm trying to download a film from iTunes onto my iPad but downloaded the HD version instead of SD and don't have the room to download it. Have removed everything I can to make space but still need another 1.2 GB. How can I delete it??

Hi all, I'm trying to download a film from iTunes onto my iPad but downloaded the HD version instead of SD and don't have the room to download it. Have removed everything I can to make space but still need another 1.2 GB. Is there any way I can delete it so I can delete the version I wanted, or even better change to the SD version? The film is still queuing in the downloads list. I've tried edit and delete but that doesn't work. I also can't re-download the film from iTunes.
    Any suggestions very welcome!

Try to connect in recovery mode, explained in this article:

    EMERGENCY!!!!!!!!
IS THERE ANY WAY TO RETREIVE AN ACCIDENTALLY DELETED BACK UP FROM MY TIME MACHINE DRIVE????
In other words, I emptied out a folder on my main MAC to make space and the next subsequent backup backed up the EMPTY FOLDER and then deleted the "old backup" that actually contained the contents of the very important folder.
Now only the emptied folder exists on my MAC and in the two backups on my Time machine backup drive.
This was clearly a big mistake on my part not realizing that the "old backup" being deleted by Time Machine would include backed up files that I had no intention of getting rid of....
    What can I do now?
Is DATA RETREIVAL even an option?
I am sure that the Folder of files that I need are on the most recently deleted "OLD BACKUP" but how do I get to this, if even possible?????
    Super desperate situation here...

It may be possible to recover some of the data, if it hasn't been overwritten, but it won't be cheap or easy.
You've posted in the Time Capsule forum, but you mention a "backup drive."  If your backups are on a Time Capsule's internal HD, instead of an external HD, it's even worse.
    See Data Recovery.
    Good luck.
