Need to delete pics/be sure the copies are ok. what am i doing wrong pls..

ok
my pc is filled with pics now.. i need to delete them off the computer..
i have transfered the whole Picture directory to Verbatim external hard drive..
i used an 8 megapixel camera.. most pics in the Verbatim are about 40kb
before deleting the pics off the main comp i wanted to be sure the quality is the same on the transferred files to the ones i have on the main comp.
I brought back one file from verbatim into iphoto.. and it was showing in there as a small photo... any zooming at all causing pixelation... ie nothing like the high quality original i already have on the iphoto..
can anyone tell me whats going on pls? i really must delete the photos but want to be sure i have made good copies first..
please feel free to expose how thick i am!

Why don't you just run iPhoto with the library on the external drive - quit iPhoto, drag the iPhoto library as a single entity to the external drive and launch iPhoto while depressing the option (alt) key - use the select library command to direct iPhoto to use the external drive
After you have done this and checked your library you can trash the one on yoru internal drive (I suggest testing iPhoto one more time before emptying the trash just to be sure)

I've installed three times with no luck. I downloaded the Creative Cloud Packager off the licensing site: https://licensing.adobe.com. I unpacked and choose my applications. The install seemed to be successful, but I don't so any of the applications anywhere.

Creating package doesn't mean it will install the product,
You will need to install the package now. Please follow the instructions mentioned in the below articles

When I open iTunes on my new Windows 7 computer, after I have followed the tutorial on the website, I get an additional promt to "scan fror media". All the songs are copying twice. I have uninstalled the program twice and tried again with the same result. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for your response. I have done this...when I open the iTunes folder copied from my old computer, each song appears only once. When I open iTunes each song appears twice. Should I uninstall the iTunes folder from my old computer and reinstall it? It make no sense that I have 2 of everything in iTunes. You haven't opened an account with that Apple ID in iTunes. Open iTunes and log in. A dialog will appear in which you need to enter your Apple ID and/or password. Below it you should see a link for creating a new account. Click on that link to get started.

Decided to use cmd A to select all the icons on the desktop and then looked for a right click option. There it was - the option to move to a folder. I now have them all in this folder which tells me it holds 157 items. Now you know why I needed to know LOL

Open System Preferences > Displays > select the window for you external monitor > click on the Arrangement tab and check the box next to Mirror Displays. It may be slightly different in Lion, but the idea is the same.

You know that you have to connect the iPad to your PC with the cable that came with it - and then iTunes should start automatically and it will guide you through the set up process?
If you have already tried to connect the iPad - and you have launched iTunes - and you still have no luck - reboot your PC and then begin the process again.

Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...

Anything Downloaded with a Particular Apple ID is tied to that Apple ID and Cannot be Merged or Transferred to a Different Apple ID

images using windows rather than the Nikon Transfer.

When you sort the Album in iphoto are you sorting manually? Or by date of the photos?
When you sort in the Finder how are are you sorting?
Here's one way to do what you're trying to do:
Create your Album and sort the pics as you want them. Then Photos Menu: Batch Change -> Set Title to Text "John's Birthday", for instance, and tick the box to append a number to each Photo. Now your photos are titled 'John's Birthday 001, John's Birthday 002 ... etc'
Then File -> Export and in the Export dialogue set the Filename to "Use Title"
Sort on Filename in the Finder and you end up with a folder full of images in the same order as the Album in iPhoto.
