Greetings. Please kindly advise if HP Pavilion g6 - 1317AX comes with a TPM chip installed.
I’m using Win 7 54 bit Ultimate and wish to run Bitlocker with TPM.

Need Help Determining Which Sound Chip Is On New Motherboard

I have a Toshiba M45-S331 that had a damaged motherboard, and I couldn't find the exact replacement MB at a reasonable cost, so I substituted a #V000051700 MB. After reassembling the laptop, everything works great except I get no sound. I'm hoping that the issue is that the replacement motherboard has a different sound chip, so a different driver would be required, but I'm having difficulty finding out which chip is integrated in the MB, and therefore which drivers will work. Is there a way to get the appropriate spec's on the motherboard? There were some sub-numbers on the MB - 6050A0067901, if that helps.
After further research, I found out that the new motherboard came out of a Toshiba M45-S3553, which has the same drivers as the original M45-S331, so the problem must be something other than the sound drivers. It may be the sound chip is bad. Any other ideas?

The RAM is pretty minimal in that machine, but it will run OS 9. In my experience eBay is problematic for OS purchases unless you know exactly what you are doing. Never buy "Restore" disks unless it is for your exact machine. (Keep OS X away from your iMac until you determine that it has the 4.1.9 firmware update!)
Apple Rescue, here, is one of the better places to get OS disks. OS 9.2.1 would be my recomendation.
Put a little more RAM in that iMac, and I think you'll find the Mac an enjoyable experience, and ... welcome to the "Apple Orchard" where there are no viruses, no spyware, and no blue screens of death.

OS - Windows Vista Ultimate Build 6002.
I downloaded and installed the Bitlocker from Windows Extras for Vista ultimate under Windows Update. I got a message stating:
A TPM was not found. A TPM is required to turn on Bitlocker. If your computer has a TPM, then contact the computer manufacturer for Bitlocker-compatible BIOS. Currently, I have BIOS version F.2E

Hi:
I would not have any idea how you would go about getting a TPM chip added to the motherboard, or if it is even possible.
I am not a PC repair tech or electronics technician by trade.
If your work requires the need of a TPM chip, I would recommend you purchase an off lease or new HP business notebook, and make sure the model you want comes with one.
I know the Elitebook notebook models do, and the old ncXXXX models do.
Some of the Probook models have them too, but not all of them.

Kernel module for D30 TPM Chip Linux?

Seems that Linux does not recognize the TPM chip. Could it be that there is no module for it in Linux Kernel? I Thought D30 supports RHEL6?

Testing WMI for TPM chip

Win 7 Ts with a group to pre-provision Bitlocker (SCCM 2012 SP1)
The group has a condition to run only if "select * from win32_TPM where IsEnabled Initialvalue="False"
This works fine on HP laptops but testing a Dell Latitude it skips past
Check wbemtest on the laptop I see the class with a value of <null>
so I 've added an extra condition if any of the conditions are true to include initialvalue="<null>"
still skips past the group - I also tried just "null" bit same again
any thoughts ?

Thanks for replying Niall. Yes I'm following your article and it works great. It is simply the TS test I need to determine whether to run or skip the "pre-provision Bitlocker" group.
My current test for the group is to test for Win32_tpm where isenabledinitialvalue="false". There is a mix of HP and Dell kit (all bare-metal out of box builds). For HP kit this test works fine i.e. the group runs but for Dell kit it skips the group therefore
evaluating the condition to be false - that's what I need to sort out. When you look in Bios the chip is there but TPM is not enabled or activated hence the steps using the CCTK (or HP Repset) but its just getting the right condition test so that it will run
the group correctly

TPM chip and ESXi 5.5

Hello,
I have question about proper enabling TPM functionality in VMWare.
I installed TPM chip in Cisco blade UCS B200-M3 and I enabled TXT and TPM functionality in BIOS according to Cisco user manual.
Blade rebooted with no problems and bios does show TPM configured (attached screenshot).
Unfortunately I can not figure out how to enabled TPM functionality in VMWare.
The esxcli command shows lack of TPM:
# esxcli hardware trustedboot get
Drtm Enabled: false
Tpm Present: false
The query "QueryTpmAttestationReport" in webinterface of the ESXi and vCenter
does not show any PCR entries (screenshot attached). In addition bios shows entry "TPM Owner status: unowned".
I can not find any option/setting in vCenter or ESXi to manipulate with TPM functionality.
I searched through KBs in Cisco and VMWare and I can not find any specific information about troubleshooting TPM in ESXi or vCenter.
I would appreciate some help in this matter.

The minimum version, for both Windows 8 and 8.1, is ESXi 5.1
To upgrade, you need to upgrade at least one of your hosts to ESXi 5.1. To manage that host with vCenter, you will need to upgrade vCenter to 5.1 as well, which will manage your ESXi 5.0 and 5.1 hosts. I strongly recommend you use the VMware Interoperability Guide, in case you have older ESXi hosts (i.e. 3.5) that will no longer be managed when you move to vCenter 5.1.

For Windows on a Mac you'd have to own a Windows retail system installer with keycode, and use BootCamp utility in the Mac OS X to set up a partition on the computer hard disk drive (issues? if you have Apple Fusion Drive where a SSD + HDD are automatically co-joined) and then install the Windows system there.
Or get & use Parallels, or VMFusion software and use it along with Windows to run applications written for a Windows OS. And would need to have a large internal hard disk drive with plenty of room since the space for Windows takes away space for Mac OS X and its applications to run; and also you'd need plenty of chip RAM installed to run this other System plus software... and for Windows, its own anti-virual software not needed at all in a Mac.
Not sure about this, http://www.wondershare.com/video-editor/mac/ suggests in their advert to be something to use if you can't use the cyberlink product.
Or don't want to buy the upscale or pro Apple image software that does a fine job at a cost. I'd try & avoid running Windows in a Mac even though it can run three or more different OS, including linux/unix builds.
Never heard of either one: wondershare or cyberlink powerdirector.
(the latter looked 'more pro' for windows)

Anyway, helpful information about your computer and its current configuration, OS X version, RAM installed, hard disk drive specs (free vs used capacity) are numbers that can make a difference going into a new thing. Even Mavericks alone is not an upgrade, often that requires a bunch of extra chip RAM capacity.
Not sure if this helps, another may offer more direct ideas...

Thinkcentre M82 TPM Chip.

Hello All,
Has anyone have any experience enabling the TPM Chip that is on M82 2929s? I need to encrypt a load of machines using bitlocker but when I go through the set, I get an error message that tells me there isn't a TPM chip availiable. The specs on the M82s I have say there should be a TPM, but even when I go into the BIOS I cannot find any mention of a TPM!
Have I missed something? Any help would much most appreciated!

The specs on a GTX 970 are:
145   Graphics Card Power (W)
500   Minimum System Power Requirement (W)
2x 6-pins   Supplementary power connectors
Even with an upgraded power supply, the case doesn't have the air flow to cool a card like this.   In addition, the BIOS probably won't recognize and support this model of graphics card.   ThinkCentres are business class computers, if you're wanting a gaming computer worthy of a GTX 970, best to start with a computer designed for gaming.

I was told that i had to turn bitlocker off in order to add a password to it. I turned off bitlocker and now my system said there is no TPM Chip?? any help would be great!

Need to determine plant and storaeg location for item in delivery

Hello All,
I have an inbound IDOC which changes the quantity of items in a delivery and also adds new items if necessary. I need to do a auto PGI also if required.
Am using BDC to update the delivery. Now the problem is when I add a new item to the delivery. I add the material, quantity and Unit recieved from the IDOC. I need to determine the plant and storage location and fill that too in the delivery.
Kindly let me know how I can determine these two values. Which table holds this data?
Please note that I am changing only the delivery. The document preceding the delivery wont be changed.

normally the plant is determined on this basis:
customer inforecord (table KNMT)
customer master (KNVV)
material (MVKE)
The storage location is determined in table TVKOL based on:
shipping point (you have it in delivery header LIKP-VSTEL)
plant (see above)
storage conditions (material master MARA-RAUBE)

for windows you should have an exe and a 7z file. put both in the same directory and double click the exe.

Do I need to upgrade my graphics card before installing CS6.....currently have Nvidia quadro FX1800 with CS5.......what card would be recommendation for a one man operation that would like to take advantage of the mercury playback engine?

I agree with the recommendations for the GTX 660+. I also second John's advice to completely uninstall the existing Quadro drivers before you swap cards.
And that Quadro FX 1800 never worked with MPE GPU acceleration even in CS5 because although it has CUDA capability, it has only 768MB total VRAM on the card. MPE GPU acceleration requires a minimum of 765MB of free, unused VRAM - but a 768MB card leaves only 749MB of free, unused RAM because the Windows GUI itself consumes nearly 20MB of VRAM. And even if the FX 1800 had 1GB of VRAM, it would be sluggish-performing by current standards because the FX 1800 is really based on a downclocked GeForce 9600 GT (with only 64 CUDA cores) with a narrower memory bus width (192 bits instead of 256 bits, both DDR3).
