Need to display the BW documents as a column in the Bex report

Hi,
I know, from Bex you can Goto "Goto -> Documents" or "Goto -> Documents for navigation status" context menu to display documents.
But I was wondering, is there a way to display the documents as a column in the report, instead of going through the menu?

Sonali,
the very purpose of it being a document is that it can have any data that might be required to identify the value like an image etc... this would be the reason why you cannot display the document directly on the page..
Options are :
1. When loading the data - have a routine that looks into the document and populates the text attribute of the IOBJ
2. Use a virtual characteristic to pick up the value of the characteristic and fetch the document content ( Not sure if this can be done )
3. If you are using Web reporting - use the table interface to fetch the value of the document and put it into the cell.

How to find the Internal Document Structure Number STLNR from the DIR Key

Hello:
Our requirement: When a user moves the Header DIR of a Document BOM to Released Status, we need to check if all the BOM Items in this Document BOM have also been released (in Status Released). If not, we need to give the user an error message informing them which component DIRs need to be released before the system will allow them to release the Header DIR. We can do this by entering the DIR Key of the Header DIR and find out the Internal Document Structure Number (Document BOM Number = STLNR for BOM Category Document Structure STLTY = D) from the available input of the DIR Key DOKARDOKNRDOKTL+DOKVR. Then we need to use the value of STLNR in Table STPO to find the Document BOM Items and check the status of each BOM Item DIR.
If Table STKO had DIR Key as an input we would have our solution, but alas it does not. Can anyone point us in the right direction by suggesting how to get to STLNR from the DIR Key? Your help would be much appreciated!

Hi Niraj,
the STLNR should be contained in structure rc29k. You can also use the DMS BAPI DOCUMENT_GETDETAIL2 with parameter GetStructure or DOCUMENT_GETSTRUCTURE. With these BAPIs you should be able to determine the document structure to an existing document info record. For further information on the mentioned BAPIs please see SAP note <a href="https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/766277">766277</a> which contains a complete documentation on all existing DMS BAPIs.

How can I display my bookmarks in a persistent column on the left of the display?

I like to have a permanent display of bookmarks i a column on the left of the display. Having restarted FF, this is no longer shown.
I see a View option to display the bookmarks toolbar - but I don't want a toolbar - I want to go back to having the list always shown on the left.

Recentley printing most documents in firefox print on 1/4 of the page and not the complte document. When I print the same thing in safari it prints fine. Please advise how I can get proper printing in firefox

When using Firefox to print most documents ( boarding passes, mastercard statements,genealogy documents) the printing only shows on 1/4 of the page, is in the lower left quarter and does not print part of the right side of the information. When I go into Safari and print the same documents within 2 minutes they always print fine. We like Firefox and would prefer to continue to use but if we can't print we will have to use Safari more often

I have the same problem with cutting of the page since installing the new version. If you manually zoom out the print it only shows 1/4 of the page on a whole page of paper. Something is wrong here.
I have done all these steps and it still does NOT print correctly!
I am a IT professional and something is not right with the new firefox browser. Please supply with fix or we will have to permanently switch back to Internet Explorer, which works perfectly.

I have calender months in the reporting columns, values of these reporting columns are dynamic in reports. We need to replace these values with text of the calender months. I have seen it at some places but do not remember how to do it now.

if you want to display in columns along with the data then right click and select properties and the select the disply as Text .
If you want to display in the header go the properties and in the header (Title area where u provide desxcription) instead of ur description enter the text variable &0T_CMONV& or you can select the text variable from the list .

Display two fields in one single cell in a BEx report.

In a BEx 7 query, we need to display 'First name' and 'Last name' in one cell/column called "Name". The 'First name' and 'Last name' are two different info objects in the multiprovider on which the query is built. These are navigational attributes for Char - Employee. The entire flow is in 7.0 version.
Any pointers to how this can be done in the query designer?

Follow the following steps:
1. Create a Variable and in General Tab Set Processing By As Customer Exit.
2. Now go to CMOD & Write the following code doing some custom changes specific to your requirement:
WHEN "Variable Name"
"Here you can write a code to select the value from Infocube table and Loop it in a work area"
Loop it_tab INTO wa
     concatenate S_date s_tstmp into s_val_new separated by space.
      l_s_range-low = s_val_new.
      l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
      l_s_range-opt = 'EQ'.
      APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.
END LOOP
Note: l_s_range is a structure and holds a single line whereas E_T_range stands for internal table and have multiple values . in customer exit (used for variable ) holds the derived value for the variable .
You can go to query and there u can drag this Characteristic on which you created this custom exit variable

How to fetch the junk values of a column and the column name in oracle

Can anyone help me in writing a procedure/dynamic SQL to fetch the column where the junk values appears and its value. Eg: If emp table contains ID and Name columns, and ID column contains junk values, the result should be the Id column and the junk value/s. It should be dynamic because next time if the other column contains junk values(like $,%...), the query should display the other column too..

Need to populate Y or N based on some logic in Bex Report

Hi Experts,
I have a report requirement following are the details:
1. ENDDA is a characteristics DATE field coming from Info Provider.
2. Now if ENDDA < Report Run Date we need to populate N in report field
3. If ENDDA > Report Run Date we need to populate Y in report field.
would be great if some body can give some insight into the approach to follow and achieve this requirement.

Now i have created a CKF with two formula variables:
Var 1 is replacement path variable which is taking ENDDA time characteristics as its reference value.
Var 2 is SAP Exit formula var bringing in the report run date.
Issue:
Var1 date format is MM/DD/YYYY
Var2 date fromat is MMDDYYYY
we need to substract these two in order to get the difference in days but for that the date format have to be uniform for both variables. In SAP Exit i tried appending the '/'value b/w MM, DD & YYYY but its showing x when i look at query o/p.
I checked the code by executing the query in RSRT in debug mode and checked the value of L_S_RANGE which is perfect in 05/24/2011 but the same value in var o/p in showing X at query side.
Any pointers would be help ful

I had a report.

I just want to limit the data on a information date with the latest entry and along with its corresponding information.I mean to say only 3rd row I need.,
I applied Max( <Inofrmationdate>). Then ok with this function.I am trying to put the information object.Then I am nt geting the relevant data.
The report contains only one data provider.
Please can you suggest me with possible solutions.

Hi,
Here you are using max(<Inofrmationdate>) and you will not get relevant result because in the backend at database end the query will be generated with group by clause and the remaining objects as group. Please check the query that is generated at the database end.
Go to edit query -
> SQL -->> check SQL query and validate it by running at backend
Or You can use different functions using Rank, place rank field in information date and make report to populate only with highest or lowest rank (based on the ranking you decide)
