Need to download backed up mac files to PC

My Macbook Pro is dead. Needs a new logic board so I have no access. I did back up my files on a Mac formatted passport portable hard drive with Time Machine. Heres my problem, everything is on there. I cant even sync my Iphone cause my Itunes is on there. I also dont have another Mac computer only a PC at home. When I plug the passport into my PC nothing appears since its Mac formatted. Is there anyway to retrieve these files or software I can install on my PC so I can retrieve these files?

Numbers is a joke compared to Excel. If I were you I would find a class/tutorial first, find out what they use (and it won't be Numbers) and see if you need the Mac or Windows version of Excel. Note that Excel is not sold as a seperate product from the Microsoft Office suites.

Need help retrieving 'backed-up' iWeb files

In anticipation of iweb going away, I backed up my iweb files to an external drive. Now, having purchased a brand new imac desktop computer, it did not come with iweb software. So, how do i "restore" any of my iweb files to the new imac desktop so that I can then view them, enjoy them, or upload them to a new server?

Attach your hard drive to your new Mac and then copy the files over or just drop and drag. If you have saved your published iWeb files, then you can open them in any browser that you have by opening the file and then clicking on any of the html pages - just double click and Safari or your chosen browser will open them.
To upload to your server, then you'll need to download an ftp client like Cyberduck or Yummy ftp and upload to your server using this.
Other than this and if you want to make any alterations to your files, then you needed to back up your domain.sites files from your old Mac that you should have transferrred to your new Mac. These domain.sites files can be found under your User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites. You'll also need a copy of iWeb on your new Mac - you can do this by using the installation discs from your old Mac and placing it on your new mac or if you still want iWeb go to Amazon and search for a copy of the iLife 11 boxed set and iWeb is included in this.

I had download Quicken to my iMac and downloaded Microsoft Office for Mac. We moved from one state to another and now there are none of my downloads present. I desparetly need both. Can anyone help me with this situation? I've never had this happen with a PC and I'm new to Apple.

I know this may seem like a stupid question, but did you check your downloads folder? Or the Applications folder? Some Apps will go to your Applications folder others will stay in Downloads until you run the .dmg file.

Backed-up Mac Files turn into EXE

Help please!
I am have such a bad time of it here. So many archived files created on my Mac once copied onto my HD (or even showing up in their storage, i.e., old ZIP, or even new LaCie drives) have changed to EXE icons. Can't open them, can't go into the orig. programs to open. Wierdness.
I know an EXE file is Windows and will not work on my Mac if or unless I have Windows loaded. However, just want the files I created but don't know why the Mac OS is converting them to EXE icons!
Any assistance is appreciated as I need to retrieve and use these (some are old PageMaker, FreeHand and PhotoShop files, except for PM which I now have InDesign) all should convert or at least be recognized.

The actual icon doesn't really matter. Somehow your files are getting associated with the wrong type of program.
Get the information for one of the files. Select an appropriate program for opening the file ("open with"). Try opening it. If that works then go back and get the information for the file and this time also select "use this application to open all files of this type).

Need help downloading photoshop onto Mac OS X

I am trying to download photoshop onto my Mac with the new update OS X. Every time I click download, it opens a page saying they cannot find the web address. It tells me to open up an application already on my computer or try to find a app on the App Store and I don't know what to do.

I need to download the httpd.conf file included in Yosemite update.

Where can I go to re-download the version of the httpd.conf that is included with the Yosemite update. Yosemite upgrades to a later version of Apache, and it puts a new httpd.conf file on the machine. When I update, my localhost server stopped working, and in my attempts to get it working again, I accidentally overwrite the file. So, I would like to get my machine back to the point of the update, so I can do a better job of correcting the problems, and getting localhost working again. Does anyone have a URL or anything I can go to to get a fresh version of httpd.conf for Yosemite? Thanks very much.

Yes, somebody could, but that is illegal. I'm sure you can understand that given this site is Apple's.
You can extract what you want from the installer package if you know how to Pacifist and have a copy of the installer application. Or if you own another computer running Yosemite, then you can get a copy from it.
If you ask someone to send you a copy while on these forums, then it's likely the moderators will dismiss you for the violation. I understand your situation, but no one here can help you without it causing a stink. I hope you understand.

What converter do I need to download for converting CR2 files into DNG?

Used EOS Rebel T1i in camera raw setting. The Canon Camera Raw images will not open up because camera is not supported in Photoshop CS5 Extended, version 12.0.4 X64. Also tried to open by changing the the setting to Photoshop Raw but got a "Specified image is smaller than file" alert. When image opened, it was a grayscaled image full of noise. See below. What can I do to open these images, or to convert them?

Your Canon EOS Rebel T1i is supported and only requires ACR 5.4 or newer.

Since you have Photoshop CS5 you should have ACR 6.7, so either there is something wrong with your install of ACR or you are doing something wrong.
Trying to open in PHOTOSHOP RAW is completely different than ADOBE CAMERA RAW.
You need to use Adobe Camera Raw (ACR),
Just forget that Photoshop Raw even exists.It does not do what you need to do to open your CR2 files.

No, not if the backup is Time Machine..
Ask a friend to help you .. who has a mac.. and you can then open the TM backup and grab your files and copy them across the network.. although buying a USB drive would be better.
