Need to edit credits in video, how to update that in Encore

I started sending out DVD copies, only to find out that I mispelled a word in the video's credits. I was hoping that once I made the correction, the file in Encore would be updated, but that is not the case. How can I correct the mistake in Encore or whatever so I don't have to re-create a new file with all the DVD menus and everything?

My software is very wierd. After closing and re-opening Encore, I can now click on 'transcode now.' BUT! I'm still getting the error "unable to create image buffer."
I have done the "Save your project and go to Edit | Preferences | Media and clean the database; then close and re-open En. Try transcoding again with other apps and background processes shut down. Reboot the computer if necessary."
but that doesn't seem to have helped.
I'm using Windows 7.

w: has 249 GB free
I'm not sure what other info is needed. I was hoping to have this one project done today so I could give it to the family, as they wanted to show their relatives after Easter dinner. It just drives me batty that I'm having so much trouble with this. The build checks out okay, but it just won't build the DVD because of that error.

After you downloaded the Acrobat trial, did you install it? (It sounds like you may be either looking at the Acrobat online services, or Adobe Reader--neither of which offer PDF editing capabilities.)
So, make sure that you've installed the Acrobat trial, and make sure that you're opening your files in Acrobat rather than Reader.

Need help getting ipod/phone videos onto a DVD that will play in my dvd player

I have so many videos on my old ipod and my two iphones. I need to get them onto a DVD that will play in my dvd player because they are all the videos I have of my kids when they were babies(bad I know!) So I bought iLife and have iDVD and a macbook pro laptop. Would anyone be willing to write step by step what i need to do to get them onto a DVD as I am very new to all the technology these days. Thank you so much in advance

First you need to get them onto your Mac. Use image capture and download them to a folder on the Desktop. Next, you need a video DVD authoring program. IMO iDVD is the best.
If iDVD was not preinstalled on your Mac you'll have to obtain it by purchasing a copy of the iLife 09 disk from a 3rd party retailier like Amazon.com: ilife 09: Softwareor eBay.com. Why, because iDVD (and iWeb) was discontinued by Apple over a year ago.
Why iLife 09 instead of 11?
If you have to purchase an iLife disc in order to obtain the iDVD application remember that the iLife 11 disc only provides themes from iDVD 5-7. The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes when starting from the iLIfe 11 disk nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.
Currently the only sure fire way to get all themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:

You then can upgrade from iDVD 7.0.3 to iDVD 7.1.2 via the updaters at the Apple Downloads webpage.
Open iDVD, select a theme and drag the download movie files into the open iDVD window being careful to avoid any drop zones. Some themes will only allow 6 items per menu, including sub menus, others up to 10 I believe. Sub menus can always be added to add more movies to the project. This is an example of a project with multiple slideshows/movies and menus:
IMPORTANT: iDVD is not concerned with the size of the media files in regards to what the iDVD disk can hold. All that's important is the total playing time of all of the movie files including the menus. A single layer DVD disc can hold up to 120 minutes of playing time. A double layered disk 240 minutes. IMO it's best to go with multiple single layered disks.
Follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

IPod and Videos: How to Update and Play

My brother just got a new iPod. Upon synchronization the iPod was updated with his music but not his videos. Basically all of videos are movie trailers. What does it take for iTunes to take them into account when updating the iPod? And will any video (let's just limit to movie trailers for starters) play properly on it?
At this point I have to say that right out of the box the iPod was "paired" to my PB's iTunes and it did play videos then. Then, after some struggling, I managed to restore the iPod to the factory settings to pair it to his HP Pavilion laptop. Here's where iTunes and iPod are failing, like I said, to update the latter with the music in the first.

It's OK, don't worry about it.
I assumed before that you don't know the password that you used. If that's not the case, then you can simply go back to File - Properties - Security and remove the security policy by setting it to "No Security" and entering the password when prompted. Then save the file and re-open it.

I am using the FM REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY_LVC to display ALV which has one column as edited.
it allows users to mass update that particular field. for eg: there are 100 rows in which user changes 5 rows. at user command SAVE i could see the entries modified in final internal table. but how coould i find only those 5 entries which are changed so that i can process only those records.
Any pointers reg this would be appreciated.

You better use a BAPI like BAPI_OUTB_DELIVERY_CHANGE.
Else you could use function code POPO_T "Place cursor" and then you will have to use field names like LIPSD-G_LFIMG(01) in your BDCDATA.

As a rule of thumb for HDV editing, use those numbers:
12 to 15 meg/second for capturing ( your project is 150 minutes long, so 780 meg/minute, or 117 to 125 Gig).
If you do any editing, add transition, video effect, add 12 to 15 meg /second to the total.
As your project will have to be rendered for the print to tape operation, calculate 12 to 15 meg/second for all the length of your final movie. Add this amount to the total. (example: a 60 minutes movie : 49 Gig).
If you want to burn a DVD on your Mac, calculate 3 to 4 meg/second for downconversion to DV material if you check "self-contained" in quicktime export dialog. (example: your finished project is 60 minutes long : 10.8 Gig)
iDVD itself needs 3 to 4 times this amount if you want flawless operation.
Finally, if you use your internal hard disk for all this storage (it's not a good idea to capture on the same drive where Mac OS X belongs), your Mac OS needs some spare room to breath (doing caching, etc), and your hard drive must have a least 25% of free space to avoid file's fragmentation.
As hard drive's price drop, get the maximum size you can afford. 250 Gig is a good choice if you want to do just one project of 90 to 150 minutes at the time.

You can go to Applications, Utilities, Activiy Monitor to see just how much space is available. To free space you need to remove files that take a lot of space, things like videos, photos, music. Get an external hard drive, OWC http://www.macsales.com has a good selection, and move material off the internal drive.
