Need to edit erroneous entries in iTunes Info autofill lists (artist, genre)

Bad entries in iTunes appear (autofill feature) when i am filling in artist, composer, genre, etc. Need to correct and clear out these bad entries.

You may need to set the track number, and sort by that, since these are not in alphabetical order.
Right click where it says Name in iTunes (on top of the song list). Put a check mark next to/click Track Number. See if the other songs have track numbers. They may be sorted by that. If so, you'd have to add track numbers to all those other tracks, and then sort by that (right click a song, go to get info, click the info tab, and add the track number).
If it's not track number, try and find out what they are being sorted by.

Let's say I have a Task named "Build SSIS for Duke Energy" and it has another column called Active. Now every day I look at my task list and If I worked on that task I want to create a Journal entry of what I have done. So from the Task
list I'd like a third column that calls the "Journal Entry" list's new form page and pass it in the ID of the task. I have found several TextToHtml scripts out there, but they have to be stored in a script library, and then sourced to a content
editor web part. The problem is they don't fire when I have my list grouped. In addition to, every time someone creates a new view, I have to go in and add the Content Editor web part, point to the script....
Any thoughts. It is the grouped view that really bug me.

If you only want to add a hyperlink to create a Journal entry in the task list, I recommend to add a Hyperlink column in the task list and then create workflow to update the column.
You can follow the steps as below:
Open the task list, add a hyperlink column named Create Journal Entry.
Create a workflow associated to the task list, start the workflow automatically when an item is created.
Add actions as below:
Then when a task is created in the task list, the workflow will be stared automatically to update the “Create Journal Entry” column.

How do i transfer itunes info to new computer

i need to know how get my itune info for my ipod touch to my new computer and getting my ipod to sync with the new computer

You can go to the top of this page, click "Support", then type "move itunes library" or similar.
You can use your backup, dvd, external drive, ipod, etc.

I need to put three parts together. I tried adding duplicates of the song to the list but if If I change the start time on one it will change it on all of them.

In your library, right-click the song you want to edit.
select "get info".
go to "options" and select the start and stop times for your first section of the song.
click "OK".
Find the shortened version of the song in your library. It may take a minute for it to show up. right click it again and select "create (????) version". (the ???? is different for different formats).
The library will spit out a new, second version of the song which you can rename. I suggest you use the original title and add a 1 to the end.
Now you can go back to the other version and repeat the process with a different start/stop time.
Once you are done editing, you can burn all of your versions to a disk, just make sure your interval time is zero so there are no gaps between edits.
To keep the orginal song on your library, just go back to the original and put the start/stop times back to the original settings.

Editing iTunes info

While editing information on iTunes, (Song title, Artist, Genre...etc) iTunes USED to remember previously typed information to avoid the user having to type repetetive information (If 10 songs are by Beyonce, and one already has that information you shouldn't have to type it in again. Futhermore pressing the TAB key moved to the next field.
This feature seems to be missing in the latest iTunes (version 10.4) or since i've installed Lion.

OK, I finally found something different between albums the lock after one edit and albums that remain unlocked. . When I set up my play lists I added a number of "New Playlists" which appeared directly under the iTunes Playlists column. . I also added a "New Playlist Folder" and opened 2 play lists within that folder. . Every album that I selected songs to put in those 2 Playlists under that New Playlist Folder allow editing to the track Comments column [or any other column] just ONCE and then they lock. . When I highlight an individual song/track and click "File", then click "Get Info", it opens a new window with 5 tabs. . Most of the tabs open to BLACK bordered fields that can be typed in. . But whether I type in the fields in a tab or directly edit on that albums main album screen, the outcome is the same. . The next time I click "File", then click "Get Info" the tabs open to GREY SHADED bordered fields that can NOT be typed in.
All other albums that were never involved in a playlist under the NEw Playlist Folder are unaffected. . They can be edited repeatedly. . The "File" "Get Info" tabs are always BLACK bordered and allow input.
I suppose that I could erase all of those albums involved and reimport them [I owe the discs] but I would rather know what happened and correct it without dumping and reimporting.
Anybody have a clue ?
PS: I once again tries highlighting a track and clicking "File", then "Show in Windows Explorer", then right click, then click "Properties" and it does NOT show that I'm in "Read-only".

I got my Iphone for about 1 year. And I was the 1st member in my family to have an Apple product.
since then I was searching the internet to solve the problem I face.
I want to Edit my musics (alote of them has the same name and it is hard to distegush them without running them)and when I found the way to do it which of course the "get info" from the file menu
I was shocked that the field in the "get info" window are all blanked or disabled.
How can I solve this one????? becaus I relly need to edit my library music

If I am Editing Information to a song(s) file in iTunes, does that information I'm adding change the song(s) root file to my preference?
So when I copy my music to my External HDD then clean my computer, I will move it back to iTunes. Will my information still be with the root song(s) file to add to iTunes?
- No I will not use TimeMechine
- Yes my Preference to Organize my music files is ON

When you edit a song file *with iTunes,* the information gets written to the file itself as soon as you click "OK." There are a few exceptions: (1) Info for WAV files is not written to the file. (2) If you don't have write permission, the changes will not take (3) Certain information, such as Rating, is stored in the library, not in the file. (4) If you have multiple copies of the song file, iTunes only changes the copy that the library is referencing.

On your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link. If you are doing it on an iOS device (iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch) then try tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store (Settings > Store on iOS 5 and below) and selecting 'View Apple ID' on the popup - that should also give you a payments link on your account's page.

If you've received an email then if it's not personalised (e.g. 'dear client' or 'customer'), is in poor English, and has a 'verify now' or similar link in it's a phishing attempt to try and get your iTunes account and payment info - in which case you could forward it to Apple :

Edit an entry content

I have a site written with JSP to manage the Student information.
In the same page, I designed : both input the new student info. and show the list of students
have aldready been in database (if I submit the new info, it will be displayed in this list).
My question is:
In the show list field (can I use a Table?), I want to edit the entry content of each student by clicking on that entry.
Please tell me how can I do that? (I don't want to mention to the database, just to the interface)

This is not a dumb question...
You cannot "change" an entry's category.
You will need to recreate the entry in the new category and delete the old entry from the previous category.
Make sure you have the admin console enabled to give yourself more controls.

How do I remove duplicate iCloud calendar entries in iTunes

Hello Everyone and thanks in advance for any help on this issue!
The main issue is that in iTunes>Devices>Info>Sync Calendars, I see of Local calendars listed and also iCloud calendars listed (they show a portion of the address (CalDAV?) that they use to sync), and the issue is that I have DUPLICATE iCloud calendar entries here and I would love to remove them.
Here is my setup:
MBP with Lion and iPhone 3G with all updates.
All of my calendars sync with iCloud (I also have an iPad, but not issue with it.) and there are no duplicate calendars or events in iCloud on the web, so this is fine.
I sync my iCloud/iCal calendars to my iPhone 3G (iOS 4.2.1) via iTunes and this is going well, so no problems here, either.
I would just like to remove the duplicate iCloud calendars from iTunes under the Info pane so as to simplify life and my understanding. Also, there are other apps (like TimeTable) that go and read the master list of calendars. So, on this app, I see ALL of the calendars by name without being able to distinguish them any other way.
Any ideas as to how I can climb inside of iTunes and remove the duplicate iCloud calendar entries?

I can confirm that there are no duplicate contacts. Currently, because I use an iPhone 3G, my contacts are only being synced via iTunes, not via iCloud.
My question relates not to duplicate calendar events, but to duplicate calendar addresses (in iCloud) in iTunes' Info pane.
Here is a pic:
So, you can see that there are 2 entries for 'Personal', each with the iCloud address (CalDAV?) attached to it. Note that one entry says, 'Personal iCld' instead of just 'Personal'. This is because I renamed all of my iCloud calendars in iCal to see if that would help me distinguish the 'working' calendars from the duplicate entries.
I would love to be able to get rid of the extra calendars in iTunes to avoid confusion. I do not have any duplicate calendar entries on any devices at this point. I think part of this is because I have deslected the duplicate calendar references in iTunes.
Any ideas?

When I purchase ITunes music, and it is a song from a Greatest Hits album, the Year of the song shows the year the CD was released and not the year the song was released (i.e. a song may be from 1986, but the Greatest Hits album was released in 1999, so my songs in ITunes show 1999). So, I go into each of those songs and change it to the year that I want to be displayed. As long as I don't exit out of ITunes, it will show the year that I changed it to (i.e. the 1986 year in this case). But if I exit out of ITunes and then return to ITunes, the year reverts back to 1999. The same happens if I change the genre of a song from, say 'Pop' to 'Alternative', it will revert back the next time I log in.
Oddly enough, as soon as I right-click on that song to change it back, the year/genre that I had entered returns.
How can I make it so my changes are permanently displayed as I want them? This is pretty annoying when I try to find a song on my Ipod under a certain genre, but it doesn't appear in that genre because the incorrect information gets synched to the Ipod.

Make sure that these two options in Edit > Preferences > Store are turned off:
Then exit iTunes and open it up again. Your metadata entries should then be persistent - with these options checked iTunes will be comparing what you have with the information held in the iTunes Store, and will overwrite with the latter for Store purchases (and if you have iTunes Match). If you have any iOS devices you should also turn off Show All Music under Settings > Music.

Since installing OS5 and iCloud, I can no longer edit calendar entries on iPhone 4.

Yesterday I installed OS5 and iCloud on my iPad, MacBook Pro and iPhone 4. I am able to edit calendar entries (old or new) on both the iPad and MacBook Pro. PROBLEM: there is no longer the option to edit calendar entires on my iPhone 4. I have checked under list, day and month viewing options.
Event details can be viewed but the button to edit is not appearing.
Most (if not all) of my calendar entires were created on my iPhone 4.
If I create a new calendar entry on the phone, I can edit it... but I think once there's a sync the edit option will again disappear. Waiting to confirm that.
I saw a posting about a year ago indicating this had happened before and was due to some mismatched account information, but I've checked each of my products and they all seem to have the same iCloud email and password information.
Is this a glitch or am I missing something? What do I need to change or adjust to be able to again edit calendar entries on my phone?
Please help. It's my lifeline.

If it happens again then try some basic steps like these:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (MAC)
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
