Need to enable admin acct with user permission..
I have change the acct type and made ID that is disable an admin.. is the only admin acct in my desktop... when ever i tried anything with admin permission. the AUC will pop up but no where to enter my admin Password... run as does not work either.. because
the only admin acct is disabled..... please help... and I have the computer to login automatic on start...

Since all administrator account was disabled in your system, there is no way to run a program that need admin rights.
You do need to enable administrator account in Computer Management.

Admin acct. with parental controls. Help!
Yesteday I started a new user acct for my kids with some restrictions. Now when I am logged in as the Admin (my only other acct right now) some of the restrictions are applying to MY acct as well - most importantly I cannot access system preferences so I cannot change the accounts. It is restricting me from the programs I specified for the other acct but it is not restricting the sites I can access in Safari. I didn't know it was so easy to change an admin acct by accident!

Ok, that means the "Allow supporting programs" control hasn't been selected, which is unfortunate for situations like this, but good for locking down the account.
The thing that is strange is that it really should not be possible for this situation to arise from the GUI - normally it won't let "Parental Controls" to be configured on an "admin" account, a managed account can't be promoted to "admin", and given that there are only two user accounts on the computer (one "admin", one "managed"), it shouldn't be possible to demote the "admin" in order to apply limitations to it.
Without getting a better idea of what has happened, it's hard to be specific about what commands to use to resolve the issue, although restoring the "NetInfo" database to default settings probably would clear things up. With just two users, this might not be a bad idea, but before proceeding further, it would be important to confirm that the computer has not been configured with a lot of custom groups, sharepoints, automounts, etc...

Another approach might be to enable the "root" user using the install disk, eg. by following the instructions in the document linked below - except assign a password to the "System Administrator" account. After rebooting, log in with username "root" and the new password.

The "root" account is "all powerful" - the usual safeguards in place to protect the system from eg. mistakes by the user or security holes in software, don't apply to "root" so only log in to do what needs to be done, then log out immediately - for example, to respond to this post, log back in to your regular account - don't launch Safari while logged in as "root".
Hopefully, it will be possible to access "System Preferences" while logged in as "root", allowing you to either reconfigure the existing users (remove parental controls, make sure the main user is still "admin"), or create a new account (allowing it to administer the computer) for further troubleshooting...
If things work out, disable the "root" account right away (instruction, more or less, are in this document - just choose "Disable Root User" instead of "Enable Root User").

I just bought my laptop & was checking add-on for updates all of the other plug ins updated, & I've installed all up to date, but not sure, I have no knowledge about if I even need to enable the- Unity Player 3.4.0.27242, ( I'm not a gamer) nor do I know what the Google update 1.3.21.69 is use for. Or can it be disabled as well?

No you can not as per my info because everything to be configured for the usage tracking is via repository and enterprise manager. You need to invoke it in em and rpd you need to do modelling. I still did not understand that why you want to create the shell script !!

Why do you need to enable http communication with Basic authentication with Exchange Admin IP?
The pre-reqs for the Exchange Admin IP say you have to make a few changes on your Exchange server (2010 on prem in my case). I have a few questions about those pre-reqs and I'm not able to find documentation online to help:
Why does http communication with basic authentication for the powershell virtual directory in IIS need to be enabled? In the IP you still specify to connect over an SSL connection. The concern is what is being sent over unencrypted and what impacts are
there to the security of the Exchange server.
What role does the IP connect to (MBX/CAS/HT)? I'm not an Exchange guy so I don't know which roles install the PowerShell virtual directory.
Are there any technet pages or white papers that talk about the MS developed IPs in any more detail than basic config?

Problem with User Permission in BI Publisher.
I have successfully managed to integrate BI Publisher with Discverer , but am facing a problem when i log in with the credentials of the SSO user biptest. The user does not have the rights to create a report.I dont understand why.I have followed all the steps mentioned in the Jorge Anicama Document on integration. Thanks.check for the SECURITY_MODEL in the file xmlp-server-config.xml under Configuration Folder (Repository). I will have to check the exact term but I think its value should be LDAP. I think the SSO is working fine, just that its not able to connect to LDAP. Check if there is any error in the console / log file. I have not checked each step of the document that you referred to, but please verify the steps for LDAP integration from the user guide.

Need Help - Presnece message lost with user disconnect without logout

I have a CUCM (8.6.2.21900-5) and Cisco Prensence (8.6.3.10000-20).
I have an user (user A) with a windows chat with other user (user B), if any user (for example user A) disconnect the ethernet wired, the other user (user B) don't view that he is disconnect and any message send user B to user A, never arrive to user A. When the user (user A) is reconnect, can not view the messages.
Is it possible that the messages is save into the Presence Server o PostgreSQL Server, for the user is reconnect. he can view the messages.

At the time that UserB sends the message to UserA, does UserA appear to be online or offline within CUPC/Jabber? If the former, it's likely that the IM&P server hadn't recognized that the session had timed out yet and to begin queuing the IMs for when they next sign in. As a test, wait for UserA to appear as offline, then attempt to send an IM from UserB and see if the behavior differs.

In that case, you can simply set the visible and includeInLayout properties for the viewstack that should NOT display to false, based on who logs in.

Yesterday I was called by one our sharepoint user and he told me that he does not have access to a folder from library. The day before he had access to this folder. To find out what happed with user permission I ran Security Audit Report on Sharepoint and
did not find some security modification for this folder. That folder has broken permission . Could you tell me what could cause user disappearing from folder permision ??
We use Sharepoint 2010 SP2.

1- An automated agent reseting permissions (a software, a script...)
2- A corrupted NTFS object
3- Another administrator on your company (maybe he's created a thread to report misteriously permissions appearing)
Either way, auditing permission changes will do the trick. Proceed as follows:
1- Enable auditing for oject access (secpol.msc or via policy)
2- In the folder's security tab click on advanced, auditing.
3- Click on Add, type Everyone and click OK.
4- In Apply onto, select "this folder only"
5- Check "change permissions" for successful and failed.
6- OK
Permission changes will appear in security event log.

no, when using facetime you log in with the apple id you want people to reach you at, so unless you both agree to share one apple id for all the facetime you do, it will be necessary for you to logout and login each time you use the application.

Copying files from admin acct to new user acct
hello, i read in the new macworld that i should try to avoid using the admin acct as a daily user. so i'm taking there advice. the problem i have is when i create another user, its settings are reverted back to when you first installed os x. i don't want this. i tried copying my users folder from my admin acct but whn i switch over to my new user acct the settings are still set to default.
at first i put them in the shared folder with my admin acct and when i switched over to the new user that folder didn't give me access. what am i doing wrong?
thxThere is a far easier way to do this without having to move files between user accounts:
1) Go to System Preferences -> Accounts and make a new admin account
2) Go to System Preferences -> Accounts -> your original account, and un-check "Allow user to administer this computer"

I need to remove all users within all site collection of a web application and add them back with same permission level. We have a siteminder based custom trusted identity token issuer configured in our farm. The name of the issuer will be changed
due to some architectural decissions , hence all users which are there before will be unidentified, hence need to be removed and added again.
Currently each user looks like : c:0ǹ.t|Identity Token Issuer1|user1
Post the change the user will look like: c:0ǹ.t|Identity Token Issuer New|user1
I am looking for a powershell script which can handle this operation.

Pdq deploy.. run deploy / installation with user admin & pass
Does the installation need to display windows for the end user to see? If so, the Logged On User is usually correct. If the installation requires Administrative rights AND you still to display information for the end user to see then choose Run As Deploy User (Interactive). It will install with the deploy user's credentials but can still display windows or other items attributed to an interactive installation.
