Need to erase all data from iPod Nano & Nike Receiver Chip

I bought a second hand nano with the nike receiver chip from a guy at school.
The ipod (and chip?) contains workout data that I would like erased because they are not my achievements.
Can this be done?

I am not sure how the system was wiped as I was not the one that did it, but now the device will not even acknowledge a charge from either the computer or wall charger. Not sure how to restore the operating system on the device. Any ideas or suggestions?

  • Erase all data from original iPhone

I've upgraded to the iPhone 3G and am in the process of selling the 1st generation. My cell service has been transferred to the new phone - the sim card that came with the 3G is now in the original phone. I want to be sure to all my data is erased. Since it's not an active phone, how do I do that? Can I take the sim from the 3G, install in the original and then erase all data?

If you are selling your 2G iphone, I may be interested. I just broke the screen of mine and found out that replacing it cost almost as much as a 3G. I don't want a 3G as AT&T charges more per month would also charge for texting. Thanks! You can contact me at [email protected]

  • Got new ipad 4 now can't erase all data from old ipad2

Want to erase all data on old ipad2 because I bought a new ipad4 but it asks for Apple ID password and won't let me use password.

If "it won't let you use" your password, try resetting the password.

  • Erase all data from my 2001 iMac?

I just turned on my old 2001 iMac (the cute blue color), and discovered to my surprise that it started and is running without a problem (I haven't even looked at it since i bought my powerbook 3 years ago). I'd like to sell the iMac.
How do I clear it of all the personal data I have on it, so i can sell it without worry? And, what do you think i could get for it?
    thanks.

Use Disk Utility to Erase the hard drive. Boot to the Tiger DVD or CD-ROM. Select your langauge. Select Disk Utility from the Installer menu. Choose the Zero All Data option in the Security screen. I'm not sure how much money exactly such a iMac would sell for. iMac DVs with Matshita SR-8184 DVD-ROM drives are worth the most. This is because the slot loading DVD-ROM drive can be flashed to RPC1. This means the drive is region free & can play DVDs from any region of the world. • Erasing ALL data from iPad - Is it possible to retrieve info?

    Hi there,
    I have a quick question.
When erasing all content and settings from the iPad to sell it, is it possible to retrieve the lost data at all? (With any high tech data retrievel software or something magical)
I want to be 100% that if I restore the iPad to factory settings there is NO WAY that someone will be able to get my personal info back. (Even it comes down to removing the SSD from the iPad and using a special tool or something)
    Many thanks

100%? No, of course not. You can never be assured 100% of anything. If the FBI/NSA were interested in you, and wanted to extract information from your iPad, they would probably have a jolly good try, and would possibly be able to retrieve information. High-level law enforcement agencies tend to have these tools. If you think you might fall into a group of people who such agencies might be interested in, it's almost certainly worth the $700 for you just to smash your iPad to tiny bits with a hammer rather than sell it on.
If not, though ... no, a random Joe you sell your iPad onto won't be able to retrieve your data once you securely wipe it. 256-bit AES encryption is even used and recommended by the US government:

  • Is it possible to save game data (e.g game scores) on your PC before you erase all data on iPod Touch

I am about to erase data on my iPod but I've got some good scores on games like a mean 29,825,006 on Temple Run and will I be able to save this data over to my PC?

    - Make sure that you make a backup.  The first step of a sync is a backup.  The backup contains app data like saved games. To check, go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and look for the backup and its date.
    - Just restore the iPod from that backup and you save games will be restore too provided that the apps are in the iTunes library since the backup does not contain apps and some other stuff.

  • Erasing all data from Time Capsule

I bought a 500gb TC from Best Buy less than a month ago. Before purchasing I asked about the capacity. I explained to the salesperson that after a crash a year ago I was able to locate my most important files by connecting to my Powerbook and backed them up onto 6-8 DVDs. He said that was about 30gb. I also said that I had the Powerbook and a Mac Mini with about the same or a little less data that would be backed up. He assured me that 500gb would be plenty of room.
After backing up all three with no new data, 2/3 of the capacity has been used. I am planning on returning the 500gb and getting a 1T. Hopefully I can do so without incurring a restocking fee.
How do I do a clean erase of the Time Capsule before exchanging? I do not want any of my information left on it. Also how much time should I anticipate the process taking? Thanks in advance for all responses.

How do I do a clean erase of the Time Capsule before exchanging?
Go to Airport Utility --> Manual Setup --> Disks --> Highlight "Time Capsule Disk" on the left --> Click "Erase" on the right.
Rename the disk and select the level secure erasure.

  • How to retrieve all data from iPod Touch and copy to new computer?

I recently purchased a new iPod and MacBook. The MacBook was stolen and I had to buy a new one. I have a lot of music and photos on the iPod I would like to recover and copy back to the MacBook. However, the iTunes says it will delete everything. I want it to sync everything from the iPod and continue with that data.
    How can I do this?
    Thanks,
    gonzobrains

    You're welcome, child.
"backups. But that's not my point. I find it disappointing that I cannot sync my data both ways."
O.K. It still is the way it is.
"Here I have gigabytes of data sitting right here on my iPod and no way to natively copy it back to my new computer without purchasing third-party software."
    Yes, this is true.
"Every other mobile device I have ever owned let's you easily copy back to a computer. Just plug it in, mount it, and there you go."
As you now know, this is not the case with the ipod touch.
You asked how and I told you that you cannot without 3rd party software. What is it that you want?
Simply maintaining a backup (basic) would solve the issue.

  • Can I use iTunes backup/restore or iCloud to 'mash' together the data from two iPhones?  In particular, the pictures and notes are of importance.  Background: iPhone 4 died, bought new 4S while other was being repaired.  Need to keep all data from both.

    Thanks in advance!

When you perform a restore from one backup, the device is first wiped.  So you can't mash together two backups using restore.
