Need to find a part
If anyone could help me I have an HP laptop and I need a new fan but I called HP and they do not have that part available. I took it to a local computer repair place and they could not find the part either(they even checked on ebay) Does anyone have any suggestions? thanks in advance!
PartStore *is* a third party depot, with over 300 different suppliers, including Andrews Electronics, etc. Just that, it's a Best Buy brand, and is affiliated with Best Buy. If it's not found through PartStore, the possibility of it existing anywhere goes down signifigantly, unfortunatly. Still, the effort should be given for a search regardless, I only spent about a half hour attempting to find competitors that might have the part. A more detailed search is might yield better results, especially now that the client has the part number.

Need to find a little plastic part for G60-530US
I need to replace the little plastic connecter (white piece of plastic) that holds the ribbon to the HP G60-530US Keyboard. It broke when attempting to replace the keyboard. Please help me find a part number and where to buy it.
It has no part number and there is no standard market to buy it. It is technically part of the motherboard. You are going to have to find a junk unit and harvest the part from the motherboard or maybe find a parts house that will find one for you.

Need to find pro tax prep software compatible w/Macs. My software maker, Drake, does not have Mac version. I've checked Pro-Series (no) and maybe 1 other. I don't want to spend Lacert kind of $$ (neither do the majority of longtime Lacert users apparently). Obviously, no Turbo Tax, Tax Cut or any other commercial, deduction & crdit missing commercial software. They would ned to have the ability to 1) convert a few years of Drake to their program, 2) Covert files created on PC to files that 10 OS could use. Also, would like them to have reasonable PPR program, free efile, free unlimited states, capable of 1040, 1065, 1120, & (S), 1041, 990. Built in tax knowledge base. I'd be eternally indebted to you if you found sometghing as intuitive and value oriented as Drake but for OS 10. BEGINNING TO THINK APPLE bends over backwords for artistic tools but not so much business tools. Too bad, I've had a few tax returns that have bordered on art.
I will likely need to add Parallels & Windows 7 OS, preferably 64-bit to this Macbook Air. If so, I do not think I have sufficient memory or storage so would like to download & install onto NFTS (sp?) formatted 1TB HD. I do not know if hard drives, USB hubs, Optical drives etc. that work w/ Windows (as long as you choose correctly btwn SATA & IDE) will work on MacBook Air. Help greatly appreciated. I wonder if the financial dept. @ apple uses keyboards w/ no numeric keypad, saw one that started at $99. I spent all the $$ I have on a MacBook, none leftover for overpriced peripherals, esp. w/ 2 kidfs going off to college in Sept.

Bill SBill I've also run into a very similar problem, I own many Macs but I've had a PC for Tax Stuff. My PC broke and I refused to buy another one so I began to search for an alternative. Window's Emulators have given me so much trouble with my Tax Software.
However, I've since found out that Intuit has a cloud based tax solution that works with a MAC because it's all done online. Which means you'll need a reliable internet connection whenever you want to prepare a client's return.
It's suppose to support all of the major returns (1040, 1041, 1065, 1120, 1120S and 990)
I've yet to use this solution, but it's the best thing that I've been able to find so far. This is what I'll be using this upcoming Tax Season.

Hello,
I am having some trouble with using shape layers and paths to create a solid, flat 'hair' effect in a cartoon animation.
I have used a semicircle shape layer as the hair on the head itself and then a path with a stroke of the same width as the semi circle to be the long part of the hair.
Unfortunately when I move/rotate the bottom point in the path it causes gaps to appear further up where the stroke is rotating around the point at which the stroke is supposed to "connect" to the semi circle.
I have included a couple of screenshots of me rotating the hair opposite ways so you can see.

I need to find out if there is a way to lock the top point in place where it joins the semi circle blond hair which will stop this part from moving at all, even rotating around the point.
But the bottom needs to move freely and obviously the part between the two points will move fairly naturally.
If you can imagine how a girl with long hair has her hair attached to her head, it does not move at all, but the bottom moves freely. It needs to be like this.
If you can provide any assistance it would be greatly appreciated.

I got a Windows Server 2008R2 terminal server with Office 2010 and Powerpivot installed. I have an issue for some users, not every user get this error. When trying to add the Powerpivot add-in in Excel the following error message is displayed:

I have checked the path and I found nothing. I could understand the problem if all users got this error but it's online a handfew of users. Other users can add the add-in in Excel without any issue. All the users are in the same domain and they use the one
and only terminal server on the site.

1. Power Pivot SQL 2012 32-bit installed over the old version without
deinstalling it
2. Installed with a user with administrator rights
3. It worked under the profile with admin rights, it didn't work under the
normal users w/o admin rights and threw this error message: Downloading file.///c:/Program files (x86)/Microsoft analysis services/AS Excel Client/10/Microsoft.AnalysisServices.XLHost.Addin.VSTO
did not succeed.
4. In the admin profile, it went to the path "110": C:/Program

5. In the normal profile, it went to the - wrong - "10" path:

Analysis
IMHO the issue lies in the fact, that the Power Pivot
installer creates two problems:
The first issue is that the path to the add-in under
the NORMAL user is simply wrong and points to a wrong location (the
"10" in the path). In the admin profile, where it was originally
installed, it points to the "110" path which is correct.
The second issue is that the installation procedure
somehow needs to create a registry key (the one under point 4 in the solution)
to complete it self and if this key already exists it fails to install and
throws up weird error messages. If you delete or rename this key, it is created
again (exactly in the same way) but then everything works out.

I'm learning to use iCal v.5.0.3 on a Mac Pro (2,1) 2x3 Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, running Lion OSX10.7.5.
I need to find or write a script which, when I create a new iCal timed event, will automatically send me an email and give a screen alert 24 hours before - plus on the morning of the appointment, plus 2 hours beforehand. I'm wondering if such a script exists already or can be adapted. I've searched various forums and am unable to find specific simple instructions on how to create such a thing in Applescript or Automator or whatever. So I've really tried to find out on my own.
Can anyone direct me to a set of instructions? This can't be so hard, can it? To clarify, when I create an "event" with a time (an appointment), I want to hit a button which tells iCal to send me these reminders without my having to set multiple reminders in iCal for each of my new "events".
I'd be most grateful for any advice at all.

Harry.Doing a shell script to burn a DVD from a folder (for example) is pretty challenging. The reason is that you need to execute the entire script in one shot, because making a burned disk is a 3 part affair with each part of the operation taking time. The problem with executing separate commands is that Applescript can't wait around until a shell command is finished, while a shell script will not proceed to the next command until the previous command is completed.
Burning disk takes these 3 parts:
1) Create an empty diskimage of your desired size
2) Mount the empty and copy your stuff to it
3) Burn and eject
There may be a shortcut by burning an existing folder but you don't say exactly what you're doing. See the hdutil command for more information:

I need to edit out parts of a song to cut it down to two minutes for my daughter's talent show. I went to info/start time and it will cut down one part but only one part. I need to put three parts together. I tried adding duplicates of the song to the list but if If I change the start time on one it will change it on all of them.
In your library, right-click the song you want to edit.
select "get info".
go to "options" and select the start and stop times for your first section of the song.
click "OK".
Find the shortened version of the song in your library. It may take a minute for it to show up. right click it again and select "create (????) version". (the ???? is different for different formats).
The library will spit out a new, second version of the song which you can rename. I suggest you use the original title and add a 1 to the end.
Now you can go back to the other version and repeat the process with a different start/stop time.
Once you are done editing, you can burn all of your versions to a disk, just make sure your interval time is zero so there are no gaps between edits.
To keep the orginal song on your library, just go back to the original and put the start/stop times back to the original settings. -
Need to find the cmos battery on Satellite Pro 2100
I have a laptop that isn't keeping date/time settings and I need to identify the laptop to find the correct instructions for taking it apart.
The make is a Satellite Pro SP2100, model number PS210E006P9-EN however I'm unable to find this make/model on the Toshiba website. The nearest I can find is Satellite 2400-103, Part Number : PS240-014T1 which looks identical.
I've tried using the Toshiba identification tool to detect what the laptop is but that fails to provide any results.
I also need to find what the power supply is for this unit as the current one is faulty and has wires exposed.
The current adapter with it is PA3201U-1ACA, the problem is this adapter has got another adapter on the end to fit in the power socket in the back of the laptop. The connector at the end of PA3201U is too thin to fit.Hi

Usually the CMOS battery can be charged. You have to connect the AC adaptor and the notebook should be powered up for about 12-14 hours. -

At the beginning of each page with a form that CF renders, it
puts a JS function called _CF_checkWhateverForm. I need to find
where in the guts of ColdFusion it is creating this function. When
it tries to put the cursor in the first failed validiation area, it
doesn't check if it's possible (in my case it's not sue to the fact
that its hidden). I want CF to generate that block of code in a
try/ catch block. Where do I find that part of the inner
workings?The setFocus('focusExample') is a function that iterates over
the form named "focusExample" and sets the focus listener on the
form elements. In the example I provided, it uses a green halo
effect around text fields when focused.
The manualSubmission() function first calls the CFFORM
validation routine and then grabs the first error field if the form
doesn't validate. You would add your additional checks to the
checkForOther(). -

My logic board on my G5 is done (according to the geniuses). No apple care, 2 years old, and $2,000 to fix. I've found what someone is selling as a new G5 logic board and has it listed as Apple part # 630-6692. I've googled and googled and can't find ANYTHING that has this number. Does anyone know what this is? Or, where I might find a used logic board for a G5 Dual 2.5 machine????

as you can see, some boards also have "revisions" like "1" or "2" and revisions depend on processors and you'd need to look at parts list for your serial number to determine what goes with what.
"630" thing on ebay got some kind of aluminum heat sink in the middle, and does not really look like PM G5 board (maybe that's why it's photographed in shielded bag)
if it's Apple part, seller could post a pic from the sticker on the box, as a guess that thing could be anything - some printer or server board. -
