Need to find external HD machine w/o the HD

Sorry if I don't have this in the right topic area, couldn't decide where else to put it.
I had a PowerMac G5, it died feb 2009. I had some files that I burned on CD and DVD but a lot of things I want are still on that harddrive, sitting there in the dead G5 at the end of my desk. I want to find a machine that I can put that harddrive into and connect to my iMac so I can access my old files. Then I could (I think) delete the OS and other software from that HD and use it as a backup.
Can anyone tell me where to find this?

Boot the Recvoery USB, use Disk Utility to select the internal drive makers namea and size on the left.
Now select erase and select the midde option and click erase, it will take a bit to complete but it's best for the drive.
Now select Partiton tab, click the big box and Options: GUID and then Format: OS X Extended journaled and click apply.
Quit and you should be able to install OS X now with your Apple ID and password.

Your music should be in your iTunes library, that is how it gets synced to the iPod. If that music is not present in the iTunes library, you will need to get a 3rd party software for the computer to get the music off the original iPod and then move it to the iTunes library to be able to sync it to the new iPod. my problem is that i need to find where some value is stored before printed in the form.
the field is zkq-rest, i find a zq and i know that is from that table that get the field that i need, i need to find a form, method or something that extract and compute data from the zq table and stored in the zkq (absences quota)

Need help finding external mixer and a/d audio interface

i just got my logic studio up and running. but i need an external 4-12 channel mixer to records my synths in. right now i have 2 external audio devices (Korg Electribe Emx1 and MicroKorg).
What is recommended? I want a goos sount but not too expensive.
Im looking for a small mixer, and an A/D device (like an Apogee Duet).

I am needing some guidance on the purchase of a Macbook Pro. I am wanting to have Wirestream Pro 4, a live streaming/recording software, and Final Cut Pro 7 and am needing to see what i would need to run them as far as drive capacity etc.

The top end MacBook Pro 15" (17" high res/anti-glare for full 1080 HD screen) for mobile video needs with some restrictions and hinderances, you will need the Build to Order 7,200 RPM drive for sure as you need space and speed.
You can have 8GB of RAM from Apple or place 16GB in yourself for a lot less than Apple charges for 8GB. However you need to be handy with tiny screws, or have a local specialist do the 16GB for you.
Your probally better off with a MacPro than a MacBook Pro.
The MacPro is more powerful, and easier to get inside and do things, lasts longer, more ports, more drives, more storage for video, fast external RAID 5 setups etc.
So if you can get into a MacPro, that would be a better option for video.

when i click about this page link,the button appears in the list.
But when i can take PG.xml code i dont find the forward button.
i have tried to trace how this forward button got embeded in the oa page but no luck.

I cannot find this 300GB "Backup" in the Finder, only in the Storage info when I check "About This Mac".
You are probably using Time Machine to backup your MacBook Pro, right? Then the additional 300 GB could be local Time Machine snapshots. Time Machine will write the hourly backups to the free space on your hard disk, if the backup drive is temporarily not connected. You do not see these local backups in the Finder, and MacOS will delete them, when you make a regular backup to Time Machine, or when you need the space for other data.

I have restarted my computer, but the information remains the same. How do I reclaim the use of the 300GB? Why is it showing up as "Backups" when it used to indicate "Photos"? Are my photos safe on the external drive?
You have tested the library on the external drive, and so your photos are save there.
The local TimeMachine snapshot probably now contains a backup of the moved library. Try, if connecting your Time Machine drive will reduce the size of your local Time Machine snapshots.

Time Machine can't find external drive after installing Lion. I have a Laice 1 terabyte external drive that worked fine with Snow Leopard and now no show ... tried connecting it to front port and Mac Pro can't see it. Also lost Office,Quicken, and Final Cut Pro says: " You can't open application because Power PC apps are no longer supported" this is Not a good surprise!

Does the drive work when just directly connected? If so, have you prepped the drive?
Extended Hard Drive Preparation
1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder. If you need to reformat your startup volume, then you must boot from your OS X Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger or Leopard.)
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Set the number of partitions from the dropdown menu (use 1 partition unless you wish to make more.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID (only required for Intel Macs) then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the volume(s) mount on the Desktop.
4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
