Need to fix Safari
Safari accidently ended up in my trash and parts where being deleted before I could rescue it. Now I have problems with linking and it hangs. Is there a way of downloading repairs for 2.0.4? Why can't I find a download for 2.0.4?
If you are using OS 10.4.6, then your Safari version is 2.0.3, unless you have made the necessary Security Upgrades - have a look here for Safari's version chronology.
There is a current version of Safari available for download thanks to Andy Ball in this forum. If your version of Safari is 2.0.4 (419.3) you'll be able to use this version. Here's how to get a copy:
Quit Safari.
Next, go to this site to obtain a zip file of Safari. On this site page, select "free", then on the following page you'll need to wait about 30 seconds for the target site options to appear. Select one of them, fill in the "alpha/numeric prompt", and the file will download.
Once the download is completed and the file unzipped, move the Safari.app to your Applications folder, selecting "replace" to overwrite the existing Safari application.
Go to the Utilities folder>Disk Utility and "repair permissions".
If you don't have the most current version, an earlier version is available on your Installer DVD. Instructions from Apple may be found here. Once installed, use the combo update specific to your current version of OS X.

Attention Apple and Ebay - Safari NEEDS to fixed ASAP
I am getting SOOOOO tired of this. Apple and Ebay need to sit down and figure out these issues. I sent this to Apple and, HOPEFULLY, they will start listening. I just can't deal with this anymore. I can't stand Firefox but I am being forced to use it. Here are the issues I am experiencing that I forwarded to Apple. I am trying to tell ebay, but Live Chat has stopped working, too.
1. To all the people still experiencing the "t" issue in Live Chat....CAPITAL T works fine. You have to look like you are shouting at the ebay rep (and explain why you look that way), but you will be able to type normally with the letter t. I figured this out by accident over a year ago. I keep a text edit file with the explanation as to why I am "screaming" at them because its a paragraph and takes too long to type.
2. Live chat does not work AT ALL. I am never connected to the server. The kicker??? As of last night, it was no longer working in Firefox. So, I am now downloading Camino. Hopefully it works because I need to contact them ASAP (I bought an iMac and the seller is a no show).
3. The following are all ebay (not apple) issues, I am sure:
Playground searching does not work unless you are in the annoying, flash snapshot view.
Sometimes, I will want to search All Categories or Just Comp&Netwrk and it automatically jumps to a specific category no matter what I do.
My feedback rating was 220 and now it reads 219. No, I do not have a negative or neutral (I have 100%) so my rating should not have gone down.
When I tried to pay for an item last night, ebay takes you to a page that says you have to log into Paypal. But when you get there, the Login button is just an IMAGE. I had to go to Firefox to pay.
4. Ebay pages fail to load. I have to keep hitting refresh (sometimes 15-20 x's) to get the auction page to load.
Lots of others are experiencing listing issues. I use GarageSale so this is a non-issue for me. Apple, I love Safari, so much so that I don't even WANT other browsers on my computer, but it is IMPOSSIBLE to use ebay without SEVERAL other browsers. This is ridiculous and unacceptable. We need this FIXED. I have experienced these issues (some longer than others) for over 2 YEARS. Please, meet with ebay and repair the app.I agree, but it is not just ebay. I do alot of searching and many sites won't connect the first time or i get "can't find the server' but less than a minute later I get it. This should not be and I cannot download the new safari I have 10.4.11 and it won't let me. Also, I can't get me.com or .mac any more directly. I used to, but my mac will not recognize the passwords now or the site. I have to go through the apple site although I have paid through next april. I am ready to scream when I have paid for one of the most expensive home computers out there.

Go to ~Library/Internet Plugins. You should see: Glims
"/Library/InputManagers/Glims/Glims.bundle/Contents/MacOS/Glims"
Delete Glims from the system and restart your Mac.
If you need help uninstalling Glims go here.

Does Apple put out a service pack to fix Safari issue ...
... after you load and install COMBO PACK ? That will brake Safari totally ... i have no working safari at all now ... cant find anything from net either . Also would be nice to get some updates to Safari version 5,3 when everyone cant buy new Apple computer just to load and use Yosemite !
COMBO PACK is Apples own fix to Apple store that they broke some years ago when Apple was thinking it was really good idea having App Store icon on screen so that users could not hide it . When all loading in Apple needs CC info so dont remember where i loaded that COMBO PACK but to me it looked lot like Apple page .
Fixing App Store icon and been able to move it broke that part of program not even a fix with original disk would work .
Now i wanted to load updated operating system but when that cant be done without giving CC info to Apple that cant figure out how their Cloud service was hacked so will pass that then ... free stuff should not need CC info ... and NO THERE IS NO "NON" OPTION ANYWHERE ... those youtube videos are fake i dont get any NON option ... oh it must need a working SAFARI . Would be nice to get any info from someone that works to Apple but thats a dream they do not seem to care at all . -
10.5.4 fix safari not opening?
For those of you, like me, whohave had safari not open after the 10.5.3 update, I was wondering if 10.5.4 fixed this. I have not had a chance to try it yet. When I try to install the latest safari update it tell me I need 10.5.2 or higher and I have 10.5.3. If this new leopard update fixes safari please post or post a fix for it using 10.5.4, because I have given up on 10.5.3
Was the update to 10.5.4 only for Safari or was it a systemwide update that just happened to affect Safari?
It's a system wide update that included some fixes for Safari.
Add-on programs and some plugins are now invalid with this most recent version
Your best bet is to wait for the developers of your extensions to update them. It usually only takes a few days. As many people here have found out, attempting to reinstall Safari can cause many problems. -
I am unable to open my Photoshop program after installing the entire Creative Suite: Premium Production 6. All other programs work, but with Photoshop it says that it "Could not open a scratch file because the file is locked, you do not have necessary access permissions, or another program is using the file. Use the 'Properties' command in the Windows Explorer to unlock the file." Then I select "OK" and the next message comes up "Could not initialize Photoshop because the file is locked, you do not have the necessary permissions, or another program is using the file. Use the 'Properties' command in the Windows Explorer to unlock this file. I installed all of the programs on the same day from a CD. I need this fixed immediately.
I am not interested in switching to Creative Cloud, so don't even suggest it. I spoke to Mashmi (or something to that effect) on the "Support" Chat and there was absolutely no support. Useless actually.

Need to Install Safari 6.0.2 on a white Intel core duo iMac. Had to throw out 6.0.3 because of conflict with required software. Downloaded wrong version that was for Mountain lion (I am running 10.7.5). It installs but won't open, says it is for Mountian Lion.
Of course I can't throw it away since I get a message it's part of the sytem. Need to fix the width of a column in interactive report
Hi,
I have a column named 'Comment'. Its have a huge data due to which the lenght of that column in interactive report get increased. I need to fix the length to a desired value.
I used following code in Region Footer:

Its solved the problem by fixing the width of the column but the column is not showing the full data now. It is hiding most of its part to fit it in that column.

I believe you will want to add a height specification to allow for multiple lines. And you may want/need to specifiy how you want lines to wrap.
Add (for example):
height: 60px;
white-space: nowrap;
word-wrap: break-word;
There are defaults and several options for white-space and word-wrap. You may want to look them up and give them a try for comparison.

I have Thunderbird version 24.3.0 downloaded to my Windows 7 computer.
When I send an email in Thunderbird it looks fine and when the recipient receives it, it looks fine on the screen, but when she tries to print it, the font is unreadably small. This happens on every email I send her, but not other people's emails she receives. It has happened on some of the emails I receive back from her that contain the information I sent her.
Is there a setting I need to fix or something I can do on my end to address this so this doesn't happen. She is receiving email through AOL online. I believe she is viewing it through either IE or Chrome.I recently tried sending myself an email through Thunderbird to another email account to see if that was the case, but the email came in with a font so tiny that it was unreadable. I had chosen a font type and size (arial 10) and just coming into my outlook inbox was virtually unreadable.
And referring to the person I work with, she doesn't have problems getting anyone else's emails, just ones I send from Thunderbird. -
Firefox 29 is not working, we need a fix. I am on windows 8.1 and have moved on to Chrome.
Since upgrading to Firefox 29, it keeps crashing and I am unable to use it. There was no problem with Firefox 28. We need a fix urgently. Until that time I have moved on Chrome.

Hi!
I need to fix my iPad on IOS 7.
It has the password locked and says connect to iTunes I did, and synced it. Also tried to restore with backup from last May.
I know how to get it restored so the password fixes but...
The computer says "Turn off Find My iPad before restoring"
If I can't access the iPad's Settings how will I turn it off?

I would wait an hour or so and try it again. You may want to put it in Recovery Mode:

Many ThanksYep, i just did it again. The entire scroll-bar widget, complete with formatted text, graphics, etc., pasted itself nicely in another book. Two different files, the same widget.
I use the scroll-bar widgets for most of my texts. (I have audio buttons on the side, and the scripts are within the widget, to the side). My only text is within widgets, and text boxes, naturally.
I am following your recommendation: cleaning files, etc. I am remaking the book anew. I need to convince the EPUB bot or whatever that my file looks and works nicely on all my devices. You would expect an error message when previewing the book: 'Hey Amigo, your file is flawed, stop working on it, and get back to the drawing board." Should be able to try again next Monday. -

I am installing H&R Block Tax Cut program. It tells me that I need to install Safari update 1.3.2 to use Tax Cut online support. Although I already have Safari 2.0.4, I tried to install Safari update 1.3.1 any way. I tried installing 1.3.1 before installing 1.3.2 and I got this message from Safari.
"You cannot install Safari Update 1.3.1 on this volume. This software requires OS X 10.3.9"
I already have OS X 10.4.8 so I don't know why it will not let me install the Safari update. Isn't the higher version number the latest version?

It won't let you go backwards.
