Need to generate barcodes

Hi
I need to generate barcodes
i've been told that it is possible by report builder, can anyone help me with some hints?
Thanks
Tony G.

If you are using 9i, there is a way of including barcodes using a Javabean - see 'Building Reports with Oracle9i Reports'. This works, but you may find that you can only get 1000 barcodes into a single report file, as the process creates a temporary file for each barcode and the structure of the file names only allows for 1000 different names (!). I TARed this and it became a bug which is supposedly fixed in later versions of 9i - we aren't in a position to upgrade, so I can't confirm this.

    AI has no specific provision for a barcode/ QR code generator. you simply use a barcode font and type it like any other text.

  • Help! Need to generate barcode on document

    Okay so this seems simple in theory, but difficult in execution. My goal is to print 100 copies of the same image, but each copy has a slightly different barcode for tracking purposes. 100001, 100002, 100003, etc. I've spent some time Googling without much success as yet, so I figured I'd go right to the source. Any ideas? Would love any input you might have.
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Others may have better ideas, but here's what I'd try:
    Not sure of the particulars regarding the format or actual numbers your barcodes will represent, but if they are your own numbers to make up, use Excel to generate a list of sequential numbers.
    How to quickly insert unique sequence numbers in Excel?
    Choose a free online batch barcode generator like the one at Barcodez.net
    Bulk Barcode Generator | Free Online Barcode
    Paste your list into the generator, and get a web page populated with images of your sequential barcodes.
    In your browser, choose File > Save and select whatever options necessary to save a copy of the page with images.
    This will write a folder containing the barcode images. Use that as a source for an InDesign Data Merge to generate the 100 copies with sequential barcodes.

  • Needs to write a function which generates Barcode in Oracle Forms 6i

    Hi
    We have Oracle 6i application built as an interface to Edox Archiving System. This application records all the details of the Mailing Department like Incoming, outgoing and misceleneous mails with attachment. Attachments (images of scanned copies are stored in Edox database). Scan and View buttons use Edox system for uploading and downloading images from to edox database.
    In the interface appication, our company wants to add Barcoding feature. For example when a record entry is committed to the database, it should generate barcode for that particular record.
    I tried this on the Oracle Report 6i, it is working. But in forms, i tried to add button which is OLE Container.During the runtime, when i click the button, it liks to Agrobuilder which is used to barcode. But the problem, how to pass the values from oracle databse to agrobuilder?
    Could anybody put some light on this?

    To suppress the Parameter Form and have the report assign a default value to DESTYPE, do either of the following:
    1) In forms: Create a list parameter to explicitly pass the values of DESTYPE and PARAMFORM.
    2) In reports: In the Preferences dialog box (EditPreferences), on the Runtime Settings page, clear the Parameter Form check box to specify a value of No for the PARAMFORM keyw

  • Is there any software in Adobe Creative Cloud which will let me generate barcodes?

    Hi
    Is there any software in Adobe Creative Cloud which will let me generate barcodes?

    - Do I have 40 10-second clips each with 1.9 GB of unwanted video behind it??
    Not to worry. When we Copy and Paste within a project, iMovie HD creates a new clip thumbnail for the Timeline/Clips pane, then simply adds a new pointer to the source video. The source material is not duplicated.
    When you Copy a clip and Paste a clip to a DIFFERENT project then Yes, the clip's entire source video file is duplicated. (When Copying between projects, be sure to Copy and Paste all the clips together so iMovie duplicates the source files just one time.)
    Next time, you might consider setting your iMovie 6 preferences to limit the length of imported clips to 3 minutes — or whatever duration you want. Then each imported clip will have its own source file. When you discard an entire clip its file will be discarded too, shrinking the size of the project.
    If you have no need to preserve the clips as clips you could export the project to a Full Quality movie that you import to a new project. Everything will arrive as a single clip, which may be okay here. Then discard your old project. The project will be smaller, containing just the stuff on the Timeline.
    If the Timeline contains most of the source material — just split into small clips — there may not be a lot of "extra" material in the project. To get an estimate of how large the Timeline really is, open the "Timeline Movie.mov" that's inside the Cache folder of the project in QuickTime Player. QT Player's Show Movie Info window will show the size of the material it represents.

    You could use the java-library barbecue to generate an image from your number and then include that image in your report.

    Hi, huiikk.
    I think most of the Adobe plugins could meet your needs easily.
    The guys here have offered so many nice sharings for you.
    If you just want to to generate barcode in order to classify your CD collections, you can google some free tools online to help you.
    May be the function of the free ones can´t match with the professional paid ones.
    It can help us solve some siple problems.
    The key point is that it is totally free. BTW, the free trials of some professional paid ones is also a good choice if you are not a regular user.

  • How to generate Barcode for Storage Bins

    Hi,
    How to generate Barcode for the all the newly created storage bins in order to get scanned with the RF devices.
    Thanks and regards,
    I.Jacob Milton

    Hello Jacob,
    We generate our barcodes with the help of the PPF action. For example, our labels have the barcodes onto them and when we finish a task that requires packing/unpacking/deconsolidation we have the PPF trigger the printing of the neccesary labels.
    I direct you to the path SCM SPRO - Supply Network Collaboration - Tools - Actions (Post Processing Framework). Here you need to set the action and namely the trigger.
    All the best,

  • How to generate barcode name in scripts

    hi,
       how to generate barcode name in scripts.what is the procedure tell me brief with example.what is the use of barcodes

    Hi,
    You have to use spacila BARCODE printers for that.
    To Create a Bar code prefix:
    1) Go to T-code - SPAD -> Full Administration -> Click on Device Type -> Double click the device for which you wish to create the print control -> Click on Print Control tab ->Click on change mode -> Click the plus sign to add a row or prefix say SBP99 (Prefix must start with SBP) -> save you changes , it will ask for request -> create request and save
    2) Now when you go to SE73 if you enter SBP00 for you device it will add the newly created Prefix
    Create a character format C1.Assign a barcode to the character format.Check the check box for the barcode.
    The place where you are using the field value use like this
    <C1> &itab-field& </C1>.
    You will get the field value in the form of barcode.
    Which barcode printer are you using ? Can you download this file and see.
    http://www.servopack.de/Files/HB/ZPLcommands.pdf.
    It will give an idea about barcode commands.

    Detailed information about SAP Barcodes
    A barcode solution consists of the following:
    - a barcode printer
    - a barcode reader
    - a mobile data collection application/program
    A barcode label is a special symbology to represent human readable information such as a material number or batch number
    in machine readable format.
    There are different symbologies for different applications and different industries. Luckily, you need not worry to much about that as the logistics supply chain has mostly standardized on 3 of 9 and 128 barcode symbologies - which all barcode readers support and which SAP support natively in it's printing protocols.
    You can print barcodes from SAP by modifying an existing output form.
    Behind every output form is a print program that collects all the data and then pass it to the form. The form contains the layout as well as the font, line and paragraph formats. These forms are designed using SAPScript (a very easy but frustratingly simplistic form format language) or SmartForms that is more of a graphical form design tool.
    Barcodes are nothing more than a font definition and is part of the style sheet associated with a particular SAPScript form. The most important aspect is to place a parameter in the line of the form that points to the data element that you want to represent as barcode on the form, i.e. material number. Next you need to set the font for that parameter value to one of the supported barcode symbologies.

  • Need to generate a Index xml file for corresponding Report PDF file.

    Need to generate a Index xml file for corresponding Report PDF file.
    Currently in fusion we are generating a pdf file using given Rtf template and dataModal source through Ess BIPJobType.xml .
    This is generating pdf successfully.
    As per requirement from Oracle GSI team, they need index xml file of corresponding generated pdf file for their own business scenario.
    Please see the following attached sample file .
    PDf file : https://kix.oraclecorp.com/KIX/uploads1/Jan-2013/354962/docs/BPA_Print_Trx-_output.pdf
    Index file : https://kix.oraclecorp.com/KIX/uploads1/Jan-2013/354962/docs/o39861053.out.idx.txt
    In R12 ,
         We are doing this through java API call to FOProcessor and build the pdf. Here is sample snapshot :
         xmlStream = PrintInvoiceThread.generateXML(pCpContext, logFile, outFile, dbCon, list, aLog, debugFlag);
         OADocumentProcessor docProc = new OADocumentProcessor(xmlStream, tmpDir);
         docProc.process();
         PrintInvoiceThread :
              out.println("<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\" ?>");
                   out.print("<xapi:requestset ");
                   out.println("<xapi:filesystem output=\"" + outFile.getFileName() + "\"/>");
                   out.println("<xapi:indexfile output=\"" + outFile.getFileName() + ".idx\">");
                   out.println(" <totalpages>${VAR_TOTAL_PAGES}</totalpages>");
                   out.println(" <totaldocuments>${VAR_TOTAL_DOCS}</totaldocuments>");
                   out.println("</xapi:indexfile>");
                   out.println("<xapi:document output-type=\"pdf\">");
    out.println("<xapi:customcontents>");
    XMLDocument idxDoc = new XMLDocument();
    idxDoc.setEncoding("UTF-8");
    ((XMLElement)(generator.buildIndexItems(idxDoc, am, row)).getDocumentElement()).print(out);
    idxDoc = null;
    out.println("</xapi:customcontents>");
         In r12 we have a privilege to use page number variable through oracle.apps.xdo.batch.ControlFile
              public static final String VAR_BEGIN_PAGE = "${VAR_BEGIN_PAGE}";
              public static final String VAR_END_PAGE = "${VAR_END_PAGE}";
              public static final String VAR_TOTAL_DOCS = "${VAR_TOTAL_DOCS}";
              public static final String VAR_TOTAL_PAGES = "${VAR_TOTAL_PAGES}";
    Is there any similar java library which do the same thing in fusion .
    Note: I checked in the BIP doc http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/bi.1111/e18863/javaapis.htm#CIHHDDEH
              Section 7.11.3.2 Invoking Processors with InputStream .
    But this is not helping much to me. Is there any other document/view-let which covers these thing .
    Appreciate any help/suggestions.

    I'm not able to realize how Oracle will help in the problem. You may probably want to look at some [.net forums|http://www.google.com.sg/search?source=ig&hl=en&rlz=1G1GGLQ_ENUS280&q=.net+forums&btnG=Google+Search&meta=lr%3D] about this.

    HI Gurus,
              We have a requirement wherein we need to generate a report with 30-32 million records on a monthly basis and store the report in some external system via FTP. We estimated the size of the file to be around 2.5 GB. Is it possibloe to save the file in PDF ? or is it possible to store such file in anyother file type?
    Kindly let me know..
    Cheers...

    Hi,
    If you are using 7.0 then you can save the file as a PDF file. Would suggest you precalculate while running the report as well.
