Need to get old iTunes, but don't know if it will lose iTunes Library

Hi.
Accidentally deleted the iTunes that was compatable with our eMac. Have still got the iTunes library,on the mac but no way of playing it. Have got the instalation cds that came with the mac, but am concerned that if I re-install all the discs will it delete all the music on the mac. Will this happen, and is there a way around this? I've tried to burn the music onto a cdrw but there isn't enough space, is there a way around this as well??

That's possible. This page gives detailed instructions on how to completely remove itunes. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1224 Then you could give itunes 6.0.5 another try. The problem is, I don't know if this will apply since you're running Jaguar. If you don't have a backup of your itunes library (and other things), I would make this a number 1 priority. Get an external drive for that. Then even in the worst case, you can do a clean install/run Software Update and rebuild your library from the backup.

iTunes 7 is about 7 years old. Almost certainly your devices would not be recognized. Could you possibly mean 10.7?

Upgrading software normally does not affect the library. Still, there are weekly complaints by users who say they have lost something while updating so you should make sure you have a backup of your computer before updating any software at all.

I have an iphone 4, using IOS 5.0.1 and have always synced it to my laptop (windows vista, 32 bit). I have recently bought a new desktop computer (Windows 7, 64 bit) and after putting it off for a while, i've decided to bite the bullet and sync my iphone with my new computer. I have already authorised my itunes account on my new computer, and i don't mind loosing music. I am more concered though about the risk of loosing my text messages and photos on my phone.
Could anyone please tell me if i will loose the messages and photos from my phone when syncing to a new computer.

When you connect the iPhone to sync with the new computer, a number of things will happen. If the new computer/iTunes does not contain any music, then yes, you will receive a prompt saying this iPhone is synced to another library, and if you continue, you will lose your music. However, you risk losing a number of other things, such as apps, contacts and calendar data. When you ask about photos, any photos that you have on the iPhone that were synced from the previous computer would also be lost. You need to save the photo folder from the old laptop and transfer that to the new desktop. You also need to sync the contacts and calendar to the same supported application that you were using in the past, such as Outlook, unless you are using an outside web-based sync, such as Google. Also, when you first connect the iPhone, it will make a backup, or at least make sure that it does before you attempt to sync, or you will not have a backup of some of the other things, such as mail settings, SMS, and the contents of the Camera Roll. I would import the photos from the camera roll to the new computer before trying to do anything else in iTunes.

Need to merge reward accounts but don't know how many I have

I just realized that I have more than one reward accounts but I don't know all the account numbers, is there a way to find out how many I have and merge them together? PS: I was not at the same location when I applied for the reward accounts, please advise.

If the information shared between your two active My Best Buy accounts matches exactly, then we should be able to merge them together. The merge process would involve closing one account, and then moving any unused points/certificates from the closed account to the active primary account.

Need help getting my itunes library to work!!

Recently my computer CRASHED.... it wouldn't let me into windows, it was pulling all kinds of error messages. So to fix the problem I wiped the system and reinstalled everything. However, now the Itunes that came with my Ipod doesnt work... So I came here to the Apple website and downloaded and installed the LATEST version. That opened and ran fine, however it wants me to erase my Ipod because the library is on another version of Itunes and you can't have more than one. So I deleted itunes again and haven't placed it back in since I dont know what to do to fix the problem. There is nearly NO space on the computer even though there is about 1/20th of what was on it PRIOR to the crash, in it now. Can anyone help me figure out how to get my itunes to work again without completely erasing my ipod?

I highly suggest before you fix your computer before you worry about getting iTunes installed, especially since you seem to be missing a large portion of your HD space.
To get music off your iPod, there are lots of applications to do this.

How to get old itunes library into new computer

imported my itunes folder into my new computer's users music folder via firewire. i had already pulled over itunes music folder. why don't any songs show up in itunes? if i go through the finder i can drill down to the individual track to play. and i can go to itunes > file > library > import and add each song, one at a time. not happening.
i can't find a thread with a clear instruction on this on the forum either.
what am i missing?

That was not the problem. Don't rename the iTunes music folder.
The iTunes music folder is inside the iTunes folder.
The /Music/iTunes/ folder is the entire library.

Well, it depends how long you can wait. We can't discuss rumors on here about release dates.
Look at what you actually need though and decide how soon you need something.
What you'll want to realize is that every year or two something new will come out.. so you have to learn to fight off the "I need the new one" bug if you want to be satisfied with your purchase. At your age you probably won't get the opportunity to upgrade for a while, so you'll have to learn to live with your purchase decision longer.
If the iPad 2 in it's current state does everything you want, and you enjoy playing around on it a lot, I'd get it now and be happy. If you feel like you want the newest of the new and are willing to wait (in line and for it to release) then you should wait for the next release.
The iPad 2s are finally becoming available after many months backlog, so keep in mind the next release will likely be the same way and think if you could really wait that long to get something.
Alternatively you could also consider getting a used iPad 1, then use that while waiting for the next version. The used one could then be resold for a fair amount once the new one comes out. Apple products tend to have a pretty good resale value, and the iPads are extraordinarily popular.

Version 5.0.1 - accidentally chose to remember a digital certificate, now need to "unselect" that option, but don't know how

Using version 5.0.1 to access Bank of America web-based cash reporting. Have 2 different certificates for 2 different accounts. Accidentally left the box to always use this certificate selected, now I can't access the other bank account because I can't switch between the certificates.

I appreciate the replies - have discovered that if i go to the certificate needed for the site, double click on it, then lunch the site, it seems to resolve the error. However, it would be nice if the pop-up box containing the certificates available to use would come back up, without the option to always use this certificate for this site option unchecked.

Go the Music Folder on your laptop, In there, you will find a folder called iTunes.
You need to get a copy of that into the Music folder of your new laptop.
As you've already run iTunes on your new computer, you will need to delete that folder on the new computer before doing this.
Once copied across, just start iTunes up, and everything should be transferred.
