Need to have Word output from WebHelp

My business is trying to create a word document from a
WebHelp file. We have extracted the project from the server but
can't get the project to open in RoboHelp. The orginal file was
created in RoboHelp X3 and we currently have version 7. Can you
please tell me how to get the project back into RoboHelp so we can
output the project to a Word document?

No. You can only use one sound output:

Pagination issues in Word output from RoboHelp HTML 8

Hi All,
We're generating a Word document from our online help (RoboHelp HTML 8) with MS Word 2003 installed. The page numbers inserted automatically are wrong in that it's skipping numbers. For example, in scrolling down through the document, the page number after 95 is 97. Sections of the doc are paginated correctly, but then we come to a few pages where it skips a number in assigning page numbers. Some of our users have MS Word 2003 and others have 2007, but the pagination issue is occurring in both versions of Word. (BTW, I'm developing WebHelp Pro on Windows XP.)
Today when I clicked in the Word TOC and pressed F9 to regenerate, it corrected some of the pagination problems but not all (go figure).
Is there a patch I need to download or anything?

Do the unnumbered pages have any content? This is ringing a vague bell and it was a Word issue related to blank pages.

Need Info On Flash Output From Encore CS6

I have CC 2014 and I normally produce videos for YouTube and DVD for my clients.
I have no idea what Flash is, but I see that I can create a Flash version of a DVD project that plays just like a DVD. Will someone point me in the right direction on how to use this feature? How can it be put on a website? How does a Flash project work in Muse?
Is there a difference between a Flash created from Encore and a Flash project created in Adobe Flash Professional (which I also have)?
It would be nice to put a Flash video on my website. How is this done? What do I need?
How can I offer a Flash version of a DVD for my client? How can my client use a Flash video and what do they need to place it in a website?

First, it is simple. Second, it has quirks and these can undo how simple it is!

Fundamentally, on the build tab in Encore, you just change the output format to Flash, and the output will change to Flash swf. There are limitations and some advantages regarding things like subtitles, highlight bit depth and such. Read the help file information I linked to. Each version of Encore (CS4, CS5, CS6) added options, primarily regarding modification of the templates and player controls.
Creating this in Flash Pro would take you forever. Basically, Encore creates a swf player that plays the video content in the form of flv files, creates the various screens as still images, and manages their linkages.
Do not stream as your first attempts; in the "Flash Video File" buttons at the bottom of the build screen, use the "Keep With Flash SWF" option.
If you did not install "templates" when you installed the Encore library, don't worry about it yet, but you won't have any templates under Flash options.
FLV/F4V are on their way out, but Encore still happily creates them. It does not matter what your source file is, or the size/type of output file, it all takes about the same about of time to transcode. So pick what you really want. I don't recall now if I successfully tested it, but there is no preset for 1080; but you can customize and use it. (F4V uses H.264).
Everything you need is in the output directory. Open the "index.html" file and it plays in a web browser. You can do it on your local hard drvie, from a usb flash drive, or on the web.
BUT flash security settings can be a bear, and I assume some of the Mac issues for this are due to lack of flash support.

Is there any way to convert a smartform output to a word document? The document contains some graphics, lines and table objects in it. Do you have any suggestions about it?

Hi,
It can only be done to a certain level.
You cannot transfer the formatting etc. Only the text.....
So don't bother. Use a PDF. They can be change/edited easily and they look fantastic.

Need to open word document from flash projector on Windows and Mac

Hello,
I'm creating a flash program that will be put on a dvd. And the dvd should function well on both windows and mac.
I'm trying to open a word document on click of a button. I used geturl but it works only on windows but on mac it only opens a blank browser.
This is urgent and would be really grateful if I get any help to resolve this problem

I kind of doubt you could get Safari to open MS Office files. Short of actually getting MS Office for the Mac, the most workable option might be to get NeoOffice/J (a Mac-friendly version of OpenOffice from http://www.planamesa.com/neojava/en/index.php. It won't display some Office files 100% correctly (depending on how complex they are) but it can open and save them.

HT204088 Need to have unauthorized purchases from my bank account reimbursed

Split Output from Select into 2 different Cols

I am new to oracle dev. Env Oracle 10g R2
I need a help with the following.
I have a select query that returns comma separated values.
Column LIST1 in table svp_1.
This needs to hold that data returned by the select query.
Datatype of Column LIST1 varchar2(4000)
I get the follwing error.

My requirement :
In need to capture the data from the select query and update the column.
The data needs to be returned as comma separated values.
This data can also be split into 2 columns.....ie data split and updated into 2 cols ie LIST1 AND LIST2 ( can be added to existing table).
What is the best way to do this?
Is the below approach possilble?
LOOP through cursor ...check the length of data....for the select query ....check length .if > 3990 byte.....then write into 2 plsql variables.....and update 2 cols....
Is this apporach right, if so how to do that in the procedure ? Please give an example...
Are there any other approaches...?
All I need is to Split Output from Select into 2 different columns and avoid the ORA-19011: Character string buffer too small error.

I have written a GUI for several classs and I was wondering if it is possible to have the output from these classes written to something like a JTextArea or equivalent.
I know I could store the output (instead of System.out.print) and then setup a JTextArea and set the text equal to the stored output. I was hoping there was another way to do this that'd be more aesthetic.

PDF output from RH9 WebHelp

I am asked to publish some WebHelp content as PDF prior to the infrastructure being available to publish WebHelp.
My wish is to publish it as PDF but not with a "Printed documentation" look. I want to create a PDFthat looks like Web pages. What is the best way to do this?
My thought is to publish to Word, then tweak and then save as PDF.

Thank you Peter. I don't need the PDF output to look exactly like my HTML (even if it were possible, which it isn't). But I want the PDF output to be in a style of presentation optimised for online reading and navigating (rather than printing). There seem to be a number of limitations with both the template and the CSS approach.
For example, I can force the page size and orientation of the PDF output by modifying the style map template. But some settings don't seem to come across: headers, footers, two-column layout. It seems that RH9 overrides these settings when it produces its "print" output. So the clean-up tasks post-generation render this effort impractical in cases where the source files will be changing frequently. I suppose a clever macro writer could automate the cleanup tasks, but I don't happen to have one at my disposal.

You might need to sign up at "https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf" using your Adobe ID credentials to convert your PDF file to Word.
Do you get the 'download' prompt?
Also, you can find the converted files by clicking at the 'Files' tab.
Please try the same using a different browser and check.

To save as a PDF, you do that from Print

Some images don't transfer from RH8 to the Word output

Why is it that some images don't transfer from the RH8 file to my Word output when I generate?
They do transfer to the Flash Help, but not to Word.
Some of them are small images - just shots of icons or tools - and others are quite a bit larger.
It takes me at least another hour to format the Word document after the output.

I have had similar problems of images "softly and suddenly vanishing away" during export from RoboHelp to Word. I never really solved the problem, but I did find some useful tips.
First you shouldn't embed your images; in the Printed Documentation Wizard you should select "Link to sub-directory"
This has the advantage that lost images are now replaced by a small red cross -- easier to find when reviewing.
Next, in Word, try Edit>Links. If you are lucky you will see something like this:
Notice that some links have a Source File of ../Images; they are the ones I was missing. For some reason the path to the image file is moved up one level.
I never found out why, but the workaround was simple: copy the entire Images directory and paste it one level higher in the directory hierarchy. A waste of disk space, to be sure, but it worked. The grabs above show Word2003 and RH8.
