Need to identify model of A100 to select correct BIOS upgrade
Good moring to all, and thank you in advance for any any assitance rendered :->
My quesion is as follows:
How do I identify the exact model of a Satellite A100 PSAAxx series laptop ?
Reason:
I need to update the BIOS and I'm uninclined to just apply any of the updates I have been able to obtain for fear of turning it into a brick.
What I do know:
Some time ago my wife and I purchased a second-hand Satellite A100 - in good working order, but were warned that there were driver 'issues' with the USB ports. The time has come to address the USB issue, and the BIOS upgrade seems likely to be a good starting point.
At the time of purchase the label with all the model number and serail number on the bottom of the system was quite readable - unfortunately this label has subsequently lost all 'customised' (we know what the fields are called by all information of use is gone).
This is a Toshiba Satellite A100 (I have recovery disks and user manual so marked).
The user manual specifies the model number as PSAAxx.
CPU: Celeron M 1.4 GHz
RAM: 704 MByte
HD: 40 GBbyte
Graphics: ATI RADEON XPRESS 200M Series
BIOS: v1.20 2008-12-12
Any suggestions gratefully recieved
Peter Townson :->
Hi!
To identify which A100 you have exactly, you can use Toshiba PC Diagnostic. If you have installed the notebook with recovery disk, this tool is installed too.
If you dont have PC Diagnostic you can also download it:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers
In the diagnostic tool you can see it on Part Number (category basic information).

Need help identifying model of a Treo
I rarely need a PDA, so I didn't replace the old M105 that died. A friend replaced a Treo she'd been using and gave it to me, but all I got was the device itself, the charger, and the USB cable. I'm having trouble getting it to load my contacts and calendar (for some reason it did transfer four items in a ToDo list!), and I can't even figure out what model it is, let alone can I find a user's manual. It is definitely just a PDA and not a phone.
On the back of the Treo is the following identification:
GMHED248700FX
What is it?! And what version of Palm software is required in order to get it to sync with the Palm software on my computer? I thought at first it might be a model 700FX, but I can't find that model listed anywhere on the Palm site, so clearly that isn't it. Is there any other way to identify it?
Thank you for any help!
Post relates to: NoneThank you! That certainly seems to be the one I have, and the age isn't important for what I need. Now, though, that leads to the next issue, which is that I can't sync my contacts and calendar, although I think I've figured out why for myself. Still, it generates another question.
I am currently using Palm v 4.2.1 on my desktop (Mac 10.4.11) I bet it's too new, isn't it? Is it going to be possible for me to back off to Palm 4.0 without losing the information that's currently stored in 4.2.1? I don't mind installing an older version of the software (and I found the download), but if it means losing my information, I'll just pass this free Treo on to some other unsuspecting person. -
Need to identify model no for Pavilion G6 laptop
Non-standard information label on case. Label appears to be hybrid Windows Key code also including HP codes, but no code is identified (ie no s/n;p/n prefix).
Likely product codes included are:
584037-001
X16-96072
However neither of these codes are accepted on HP web-site.
Can anyone help identify correct HP product/model code?
This question was solved.

Might be worth checking the alternative label tags shown under sub-heading 'View additional label samples' on the page Here.

I need to identify my Satellite L300-10Q in order to upgrade it
Hello,
I have an aging Satellite laptop I was considering to upgrade. Unfortunately I can't find reliable information about it. I tried to find the model in different Toshiba european websites using the automatic search, the serial number and the manual searching to no avail.
My model doesn't appear in the support sections nor the discontinued products sections, although I cand find pretty older models in the latter.
These are the model, part number and serial numbers I have:
Model: Satellite L300-10Q
Part Number: PSLB0E-00901VCE
Serial Number: 38212076Q
The "closest" model I've found is the "Satellite Pro L300-10P" in the Spanish website
http://www.toshiba.es/discontinued-products/satellite-pro-l300-10p/
It has the same hardware specifications than my laptop, the only difference I found in the description is the OS version. It seems that this model is limited to 2Gb of RAM at max (already preinstalled).
Do you think that my device could have that same limitation? Is there any other site to look for my laptop specifications?
I mean, a reliable one (I can find my model using Google, but the results are all prehistoric advertisements of vendors that copypasted the (who knows its origin) same information.
Also, is it possible to replace the original HDD with a SSD? I think the interface is SATA (150 MB/s), maybe it's not worth it.
Thank you in advance... and excuse my poor writing skills in english.
Regards> Do you think that my device could have that same limitation? Is there any other site to look for my laptop specifications?
Why you dont install some hardware diagnostic tools like Everest Home Edit or the Sandra Sisoft to get all the details about your hardware parts?
Both tools are freeware and can be downloaded from different pages.
Such tools help you to identify the built in parts and you could also get information about the hardware properties: i.e chipset, CPU, HDD controller (SATA), etc
By the way; the chipset seems to be the Mobile Intel GL960 Express Chipset and such chipset supports max 2GB RAM

I need help identifying which Magsafe Power Adapter I need for my Macbook Pro Model A1398, EMC 2673?
Provided the computer-end fits, you are free to use one with a HIGHER Wattage rating. No damage whatsoever will be done to any component, but it will likely run cooler (but may be slightly heavier).
If you use one with too LOW a Wattage rating, you will not be able to charge and run at the same time, and your computer's top speed (for its most intensive computations) will be limited. -

Need help on model-choicelist of JHeadStart
Hi All,
I am very new to ADF and JHeadStart, i have developed HR application using jshtutorial1111.
my question is:
In Locations tab we can able to see corresponding countries list of location. Here i need to add Regions model-choicelist also, on selection of Region the countries list should refresh and should show selected region countries list only.
ex: if i select region as Asia then counties list should display only Asian countries.
i have tried so many ways but nothing is worked out.
can any one help me on this.
Thanks,
Madhu.You should double check that this linked LOV is working in the model prior to using it with JHS.

MS 12.01 Component has several models: How to select correct model
Hello,
When I select a component from the Master Database, sometimes there are several simulation models avaliable for it. How can I tell which is appropriate for my use?
For example, TLC2227 is an opamp from Texas Instruments. As far as I can tell, it's available in 3 packages and 4 temperature ranges. The MS Master Database has 5 models to chose from, with no way to know the difference between the 5 unless I want to try to decypher the model code. How should I know which one is appropriate for my use?
Regards,
WhoHi,
If you find the model you want (So say TLC2274CD) and hit on detail report, you might get a better report on what each model does. The models are created by the manufacturers and most of the time they are created to vary in complexity. Some will give you more accurate results but will require more processing time while others will give you less accurate ones but being easier on the simulation. It is up to them to relay the information in each model they make and if they don't we cannot have a sure way of knowing unless you look at the SPICE code. Short answer is yes you have to look at the code itself, usually they vary in degree of complexity (most of the time you don't really need super complex models).

Need to Identify which Macs I have
I need to identify which Mac PowerMac G4 I have. I have two used Macs.
One I learned to connect to the Internet, and the other had the modem in it that I used to connect to the Internet.
One computer is a PowerMac G4, and I somehow found on our apple.com, that it is a G4 audi/visual, by the way the headphone or speaker jacks are arrainged on the back of the computer. But I would like to know when it was made, or how old is it. What did it cost new? This computer has a OS X 10.4. The other PowerMacG4 has a OS X 9.2 and is a bit different, cause it does not have a outside button to open up the CD tray...Any Ideas where I can find all this info on our apple.com?
Thanks

I need help identifying an old Macintosh game: it was a painting game where you rode a roller coaster to an art museum and you got to pick what kind of art work you were going to make. It was animated, 2D i believe. This was the early 90's and I've been trying to hunt it down. I think there was some kind of animal in it, a giraffe maybe?
Could you be thinking of Microsoft Home's "Fine Artist" for Macintosh, as shown in this Amazon.com listing? This program was bundled with the Performa series of Macs during the mid-90s.

Dema.So you'll probably have to write a function which uses dynamic SQL to retrieve the desired message text, like this untested one:
CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION get_msg(p_db IN VARCHAR2,
p_id IN NUMBER)
RETURN VARCHAR2
IS
msg_txt VARCHAR2(4000);
BEGIN
-- make sure p_db is a valid database link ...
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'SELECT d_msg FROM msg@' || p_db || ' WHERE t_id = :id' INTO msg_txt USING p_id;
RETURN msg_txt;
EXCEPTION
WHEN NO_DATA_FOUND THEN
RETURN NULL;
END get_msg;
/The you can update likeUPDATE mex
SET t_msg = get_msg(db_id, t_id);Hth, Urs -
My wife got an ipad air model A1474 (WIFI only) in an airport shopping centre. She needed connectivity what can we do now to correct this mistake as the model is a mismatch for our environment in Nigeria where WIFI is not common
Mifi devices are usually quite small. Think Credit Card size, and maybe slightly thicker. So not really a big device you need to carry around.
In any case if you are still within the 14 day return period you may be able to return it to an Apple retail store. It needs to be an Apple Owned store, not sure Authorized Resellers will let you do it.
Other than that, bob points out, you may want to try to use the iPhone as a hotspot for the iPad. If your Carrier supports it. Like the Mifi device, the iPhone will share its cellular internet connection out to other devices over a Wireless network the iPad can use. -
