Need to identify WLS Software Donwload for OEL update 5 x86-64 bits

Hi all.
I need to perform the installation for OFM 11G Classic Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer.
My enviroment is:
- Oracle Linux x86-64 Rel 5 update 5 with Oracle Unbreakable Linux Kernel.
- Oracle Database 10g Rel2 10.2.0.4 x86-64.
Do i have to install a WLS for x86-64?. I mean, i can't see the x86-64 from the main download page. All i see is a reference to JVM for x86-64, but i don't know what i must do ...!
Please tell me if i need a x86-64 WLS version and where to download it ....!

The quality of photo images (mostly JPG files) in printouts is awful even though the files display beautifully on the PC screen. I am using
IrfanView software for displaying/printing. As far as I can tell, IrfanView is not the problem.
When I print the same images on a Deskjet 5150 attached to a different PC also running XP Pro and IrfanView, the quality of the printouts is at
least acceptable, Some would probably say good or very good.
It's dificult to explain in words the problem with the printouts. A picture of really pretty vegetables (squashes, tomatoes, watermelon, etc) comes
out much too red. Moreover, the red, which appears shaded on the screen, seems to be all one shade in the D110a printouts.
Something similar happens to a view of a huge tree in full leaf. On screen, there are subtle variations in the "greenness" of the leaves. In the
printout, all green is the same shade. In the same printout, the trunk of the tree is all a single shade of grey. It isn;t even obvious that the
trunk is a round, solid object.
I liken the effect to audio that disappears entirely when you lower the volume and gets clipped into square waves in even moderately loud passages.
I don't know whether the D110a driver software permits adjusting the parameters that appear to be set incorrectly, and if adjustments are possible,
how I would identify which parameters to adjust, how I would access them, or how I would adjust them. I'm hoping that someone can help. Thanks.

you can't define 2 interfaces the old way (even though I saw some tricky workaround somewhere in the forums).
Use, f.e., netcfg:
Comment your old lines.
In /etc/rc.conf insert:
NETWORKS=(Eth0-dhcp Eth1-static)
DAEMONS=(..... !network @net-profiles ....)
In /etc/network.d create 2 files:
First one is named Eth0-dhcp.
Contents:
CONNECTION="ethernet"
DESCRIPTION="Whatever text"
INTERFACE=eth0
HOSTNAME="your hostname"
IP="dhcp"
DHCP_TIMEOUT=15
Second one is named Eth1-static.
Contents:
CONNECTION='ethernet'
DESCRIPTION='whatver'
INTERFACE='eth1'
HOSTNAME='hname'
IP='static'
ADDR='192.168.0.10'
GATEWAY='192.168.0.1' # your gateway IP
DNS=('192.168.0.1') # your DNS server
The names Eth0-dhcp and Eth1-static are not magic. They just must be the same in rc.conf and in /etc/network.d.

You have to do it on the Apple TV itself while it's plugged into a TV so that you can see its screen.

Pismo w/panther needs to create bootable OS9 partition for firmware update

Hi guys -
I have the original software install and software restore cds that came with my pismo, and I'm sure there must be a way to install OS9 onto a partition on my pismo from there without erasing any of the data or OSX10.3 on the other partition. Years ago when the original hard drive died, I simply bought and installed Panther and didn't install os9 anywhere.
Now I've picked up a MBP and am unable to complete the Migration Assistant data transfer from the pismo to the mbp using FW (it recognizes the info on the pismo, but stalls during transfer at 8.1 hours to go!) because (it seems) I never installed the 4.1.8 firmware update on the pismo when the update came out. The update requires a boot from a local Mac OS 9.1 writeable partition.
So, essentially, I'm looking to install os9 off of one of the original powerbook install/restore cds onto an empty partition I've prepared on the pismo so I can update the firmware and then complete the migration to the mbp.
1. Is there a way to check the pismo's current firmware (in case I've already installed it years ago and forgot?)
2. Is there a simpler way to get OS9 onto the pismo?
3. Is there a simpler way to migrate my data to the MBP? (Other than pick up a 2.5" FW enclosure, remove the hd from the pismo and do it from there?)
4. If no, to the above questions, How do I do this?

I just checked and my pismo is also running Boot ROM Version: 3.2.4f1
However, my concern isn't how well or whether it can run Tiger - it's the machine's ability to run in Firewire Target Disk Mode. And the update in question is intended to address the pismo's shortcomings there (it's mentioned in the ReadMe file that comes with the update). It's in the apple document for troubleshooting Migration Assistant that I discovered the existence of this update. The process for me freezes...

Nice to hear that Tiger runs well on the pismo though, I'll bear it in mind for the future.
Here's what I've done since posting my initial question:
I inserted the Software Restore CD and copied over all the files from it onto my partition. System Preferences<Startup Disk recognized an OS9 system file on the partition, and I selected it as my startup disk. Unfortunately, on restart I got the question mark flashing over the folder, and the pismo booted up from the Software Restore CD still in the drive. The CD did not identify my HD as viable to be restored to, something like there was nothing to restore and I must install software instead.
I am very wary of doing an install because I doubt the partition will be detected and of course the Install CD will erase the contents of my hard drive during the install. I'm tempted to pick up a cheap hd and install OS9 on that for the update, but there must be a way to get it onto the partition without wiping everything out!
Any additional help would be appreciated!

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. For the iPad Mini the iOS is 6.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

Need help identifying the application responsible for an insert...

I'm a MSSQL guy and Oracle is still a bit mysterious to me. I'm looking for some assistance tracking down the application in an environment which is responsible for particular inserts.
For example, suppose I have 10 different programs running and inserting values to a DB. I need to know which one of them inserts a "0" in a particular column.
I found a trigger which will tell me the user, unfortunately these programs use a shared credential so that doesn't help me.... here's what I've got:

Need help identifying my master socket for broadba...

Hi i am awaiting my line to go active for broadband but i just want to make sure the socket i am going to use is my master socket.
I can only find 1 socket in my house and it has a T logo in the bottom corner. This socket is on the bottom of my stairs (annoying place). I have opened it up and it looks like it has a capacitor on it. When i follow my wire coming out of the box it goes down a couple of steps and goes into another small box with a T logo on the front but all this has on it is a screw dot in the middle and another T logo.
So is the socket on stairs the master socket and if so what is this other box is it some sort of wiring centre?

Ahh right so it is my master socket but it must be older than the picture above as mine takes the whole face off and not just the bottom section and it does not have any test point on it.
Would it be recommned to update my socket to a newer one? I ask this as i was looking into iplates to help boost my speed but there not conpatible with my current socket.
And i need to put a extention into my living room is it best to just plug it into my master socket or will i lose speed this way?

Need an Employee check-in Software please. We recently ditched all our old Windows XP machines and bought all Mac Minis.
We used to use MSN Messenger and employees could let everyone knows they are Online, away, sick, vacation etc.
It was easy to use.
Is there a program like that for Mac? ESPECIALLY it would be nice if Secretaries could set statuses for employees who
are out of the office/sick etc and cannot set the status for themselves.

Large File Support OEL 5.8 x86 64 bit

All,
I have downloaded some software from OTN and would like to combine the individual zip files into one large file. I assumed that I would unzip the individual files and then create a single zip file. However, my OEL zip utility fails with the file is too large error.
Perhaps related, I can't ls the directories that contain huge files. For example, a huge VM image file.
Do I need to rebuild the utilities to support huge files or do I need install/upgrade rpm's? If I need to relink lint programs, what are the commands to do such?

Correction: This is occurring on a 5.7 release and not a 5.8. The command uname -a yields 2.6.32-200.13.1.2...
The file size I'm trying to assemble is ~ 4 GB (the zip files for 12c DB). As for using tar, as I understand it, EM 12c wants a single zip file for software deployments.
I'm assuming that the large file support was not linked into the utilities. For example when I try to list contents of a directory which has huge/large files, I get the following message:
ls: V29653-01.iso: Value too large for defined data type
I'm assuming that I need to upgrade to later release.

OK, the classical way:
Open a terminal.
Type
ifconfig -a
ifconfig -a plumb
ifconfig -a
Note the differences, it will plumb ALL available interfaces this way. So, now you can see, which device is your network card.
Then perform a
ifconfig <interface> unplumb
for all the newly interfaces (aka those, that were new in the last ifconfig -a output).
Then, the simple way:
cd /etc
vi hostname.<interface-driver-name>0 (example: hostname.rge0, the driver would be rge, the instance is 0, and rge0 would have been displayed as an available interface in the last ifconfig command). Add the name of the host into this file.
Then
vi /etc/inet/hosts
and add the pair of IP-address and hostname.
If needed:
vi /etc/inet/netmasks
if you have a sub-divided network, and you need a differenbt subnet mask...
Then:
vi /etc/defaultrouter
and add the name or ip-adress of the gateway... (name only, if you have that name also in the /etc/inet/hosts file!)
Also:
vi /etc/nodename
and add the name of your host into that file, so that the system knows, who it is... ;-)
And: For the DNS you can then add the infos into:
/etc/resolv.conf
For example:
nameserver 192.168.2.1
or some such...
Then, as the last but one step:
ls /etc/nsswitch.*
and:
cd /etc
cp nsswitch.<what you need> nsswitch.conf (should be .files here!)
And the reboot... ;-)

Is it true Creative Cloud is only needed if renting Adobe software?

I do not rent any Adobe programs. I own a copy of Adobe Acrobat Pro IX, and Elements.
Since these programs are not rented; then is it correct Creative Cloud is useless here?
The Apple computer I use has Creative Cloud always coming up at start up. Is Creative Cloud needed for updates to programs that are not rented but owned?
If unnecessary, what's the best way to delete it from an Apple computer? OS X Yosemite 10.10.3

What I have learned is:
Cannot sign into Creative Cloud. Did not accept my sign in. Ask to reset password. Did not receive any email to reset password for Creative Cloud sign in. So I cannot sign in to Creative Cloud. That means I cannot set it to not come up at computer start.
Using OS X Yosemite 10.10.3
Went to System Preferences --> Users & Groups --> Login Items.
Creative Cloud is not listed there. That means it cannot be unselected as an item that comes up with computer start up.
None of my Adobe software is rented. So I don't need Adobe's Creative Cloud except for automatic updates. And automatic updates causing unexpected slow down of computer is annoying.
So I will uninstall Creative Cloud here:
Macintosh HD --> Applications --> Adobe Creative Cloud --> Uninstall Adobe Creative Cloud
Will let you know if anything bad happens.

Looks like the 64 Bit operating system is not supported. Enable the VT (Virtualization Technology) option in the BIOS and then give a try again.
