Need to install vista again

Hi,
I bought a Lenovo SL 400 laptopn almost 3 years back when vista was fairly new and full of bugs. My laptop came with a downgrade cd of windows xp. It did not take me long to donwgrade form vista to xp. The problem now is that at some locations my wifi does not connect. At my house even I have to use an ethernet wire to connect to the internet. I want to know how can I upgrade back to windows vista OS. Please help !!

Yes since you have XP on it now. You should have made the recovery cds when Vista was running on it.

FWIW, your profile shows that you are already on Lion - did you buy Mountain Lion?
If you purchase an OS from the Mac App Store, it will be listed under your Purchases and will be available to download again if you need it. Note: the license is only for you and is not transferable; if you sell your Mac, you must uninstall it and reinstall the original system.
If you did buy Lion - out of curiosity - since it is no longer showing in the app store, how did you buy it there? Or did you call Apple and they sent you a redemption code?

You would have to purchase a Mac version of CS5. You cannot install a Windows version on a Mac. CS5 is not a current product so you can't get a free platform swap.
Speak to Customer Service and see if it is possible to upgrade to CS6 ($200), and get what is know as a platform swap to Mac.

You cannot use a Windows machine.
No idea if this will work because you have/had Ubuntu installed - hit Command + Option + R keys while restarting/booting up. Once in the Utilities, make sure the drive is formatted correctly and erase it, then reinstall the OS.

I don't know what your problem there is. Use recovery media for clean Vista installation.
If such answer is not enough for you than is it your fault. We don't know which notebook model do you have and it is not possible to offer nearest solution. Of course you didnt wrote anything that can help for better understanding.

Do I -need- to install Vista security updates? A few other q's as well..

I'm just wondering how important security updates are if I don't plan on downloading anything on Vista, and if not having security on Vista will leave me vulnerable even when on OSX?
Basically, the problem I'm stuck in is that I didn't partition enough space to install ALL the updates while leaving enough room for applications I needed. If security IS important, is there a way to make the partition larger without backuping / erasing and going through the entire process again?
Also, my last question is: I know macs aren't susceptible to Windows viruses, if I download something that has a virus on OSX, now that I have Vista boot camp does it make it susceptible?

Security updates for Windows are critical, as the majority of Web attacks "in the wild" target Windows itself. On the Mac OS side, things are a little less "busy", but security is equally as important. Apple tends to issue fixes in big roll-ups (by doing "point releases" such as 10.5.6 or issuing something like "Security Update 2008-008" in between. Further, Apple has taken to a policy of patching only the two most current revisions of the OS (Leopard and Tiger at present). Still, this is one area in which you, the user, should make every effort to stay current.
That said, Windows malware can't touch the Mac OS, because Windows and Mac OS use different means of executing programs. Mac OS also has other protections that Vista in particular is only now incorporating into itself, such as requesting authorization before running a program. (XP also has this, but to a much more limited degree).
So, even if you manage to pick up a nasty virus, it will just sit around doing nothing in Mac OS. But, that doesn't mean the virus has no potential to infect a Windows machine. Any mindful Mac user should not send files s/he suspects may be infected, for when a Windows user gets them, it's "game over" should the file be opened.
You can use TwoCanoes' [Winclone|http://www.twocanoes.com/winclone] to resize the Boot Camp volume if you believe you didn't allocate enough space.

Why do I need to install Lion again?

This is an odd one.. I have tried to search the support communities to see if anyone else is having the same problem but cant find it so this could be an isolated case... Anyway....
I have just updated my Lion OSX to the latest version 10.7.3 through the Mac app store - while it was downloading and to kill a bit of time while it was downloading I clicked onto the 'Purchased' tab to have a browse at my previous purchases and noticed that it was asking me to download the full version of Lion again!!.. The 4GB version... Has anyone else noticed this in their purchase tab? - I have checked the other Macs I have in case it was just the machine I was working on but all of them are saying the something. Appreciate your comments back before I download it again... Maybe its just a glitch in the app store but wanted to check if anyone else has had the same message. Thanks.

UPDATE... Gone onto the mac store today and now in the purchase tab Lion has been removed so looks like I have not even purchased it... I did a search for it in the store and instead of saying "Installed" - its giving me the selling price... Just like it does when you first purchase the software!!
What's going on?... HELP!!!

Do I need to instal Yosemite again? I have it on a partition.

I partitioned my HD and downloaded the beta a month ago. I didn't transfer all of my programs/software over to Yosemite, so I'm on Maverick a lot. Now that Yosemite seems ready, how do I get my stuff from Maverick over to Yosemite and once it's there should I delete the partition, or should I keep Maverick on a shrunken down partition or thumb drive?

If you bought it from the Mac App Store, subsequent downloads of it from the Mac App Store(but not the iTunes App Store) are free for that Apple ID.

I am a long-time user of Adobe Flash, Reader, etc., but for
the last several months, every time I've gone to a web site that
uses Flash, I am instructed to "Download Flash"; I do so, I view
the Flash item and then the next web site that needs Flash tells me
that I need to install it again!! This has happened MANY, MANY
times!
Why is Flash not "staying" on my computer?
BTW, also, when I look at some Adobe docs (e.g., eMail
attachments), it doesn't "find" Reader, and I have to open Reader,
then find the attachment.
I like Adobe, why doesn't my computer like it?!

AGAIN to install Flash and it still doesn' work!?!

How can i do that?

Then how can i install back all the utilities and drivers that it came with?
Will i have problems with my laptop if i do that?

The Vista installation is not tricky.
Just put the Vista disk into the ODD and then boot from the disk.
The installation will start automatically.
But this will format your HDD and you will lose your installed Win XP and other files.

I assume youve got a Toshiba recovery disk.
If you want to get back the OS installed by Toshiba then you should use the Toshiba recovery disk for recovering.
PS: what Qosmio F do you have exactly? I ask it because F 108 is not known to me

The problem is i format the hdd but i have ....
I setup win xp in partion 4 and the partion 1 is c is empty 30 gb
the partion 2 is d (winre) in xp not hidden. The partion 3 is e (data that includ the hddrecovery vista ).
Now i need to install Vista in C but when i press f8 or f12 the windows repair not found to install Vista.
Plz how can install Vista however i have E partion (hddrecovery) and (d partion winre) ?

Sounds like that you didnt understand how the Toshiba recovery procedure works. Normally you have two partitions on the HDD after you start it the first time. On the second partition there is a folder called HDDrecovery. This folder contains an image of factory settings and you can start this installation if you go in advanced boot menu (F8) and select Repair my computer.
But this is only possible if the preinstalled OS is still installed. If you install another OS like XP, you can only use the Toshiba recovery disk.
So Dr.Lamp is right, in your case you can only restore the factory settings using Toshiba recovery disk.
