Need to keep Firefox from updating from v 21.0

I just uninstalled v 22.0 because of a problem where it prevented me from copying and pasting. I installed v 21.0 but now Firefox insists on updating itself. How do I prevent this so I can avoid the copy and paste issue? Thanks!

Need new pro key to update from 7.0.4 to 7.1.6?

Greetings,
Have QT Pro v7.0.4 installed. Would like to update to v7.1.6 without having to buy a new key for QTPro. Intuition says I should be able to do this, but conflicting info from Apple makes me question my intuition and hesitate to install v7.1.6.
- Apple site says this v7.1.6 update is recommended for all v7 users.
- legal agreement text at beginning of v7.1.6 installer says that continuing installation will require purchase of new key for pro users.
- QT "help->about" box says I am using v7.0.4, but "help->update" says "your quicktime software is up to date", even though the Apple site says there is a v7.1.6 available.
Can I update from v7.0.4 to v7.1.6 without having to purchase a new key to retain Pro level? If so, is running the v7.1.6 installer downloaded from the main Apple site the appropriate way to do this?
I'd rather be more sure of the answer before any trial and error experiment that obliterates my existing Pro key.

If you were going from QT6 to QT7 you would need to purchase a new QT pro key. In other words when Apple releases a new version of QT a new key is required. QT7.0.4 to 7.1.6 is just a update of the exsisting version. So your QT7 key is good untill the release of QT8.
I would open the QuickTime control panel click on the Update tab then click on the Update... button for the QT7.1.6.200 update, your key should remain intact. But it wouldn't hurt to write down the registration info anyway.
If you want to put a check in the box-Check for updates automatically-Apple will let you know when there is a new one.

Need to keep Java 5 updates with Java 6?

I have Java 6 with 3 updates. Is it necessary to keep the 5 updates I have on my computer from Java 5? They take up quite a bit of space.

Only if you want to use one. Some Java programs require that the program is run on a certain version.

11-06-11 Cannot open pdf file on web in firefox after update from Acrobat today

Adobe Acrobat had an update that I installed today. Later, when attempting to open a pdf form from a website, firefox does not open the file. I verified the settings in Firefox options and it is selected to open pdf in Firefox but it doesn't work. I am on a Windows XP system with 32bit.

Apparently I was incorrect on the Cisco box, we are using something different now. We use an Extended application server attached to a Meta Call feature server. This is a known issue for them.

The same is with version 10.1.5. I uninstalled 10.1.5 and reinstalled 10.1.4 and the problem went away. No updates for us for now

HT1414 keep trying to update from os4 to os6

I have never updated my ipad 2 so when I tried, and ive reset all data from it as instructed on here, then connected to itunes, it says there is a new os6 out and asks if i want to update to this, which i follow instructions for but half way through i get the message cannot restore the disk you are attempting to use is full.. but when i check all data is clear and its like a new ipad ? Please can someone help, as its resets back to the old 0s4 every time,

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

My Firefox just updated from 4 betas to 3.6, why

I had to restart my browser and when I did, it did an update for Firefox, but it went from 4 beta to 3.6.13. I have the addons that were in my browser before I updated yesterday to 4 beta again and I can't access my Firefox 4 beta browser now.

You probably lost the desktop shortcut to start the Firefox 4 beta version.
The Firefox 4 beta versions install in a separate program folder.
Create a new shortcut to the beta version.

How do I uninstall the firefox 16 update from my computer? it won't allow my antivirus to scan for viruses and spyware!!

when I installed this update it said that it was not compatible with my Norton toolbar, which I didn't think would be a problem. now I've got malware ads popping up on different websites and when I scan my computer for viruses/spyware, it always says there is no risks. I find that hard to believe. I just want to uninstall the last update (Firefox 16).

Try running a Norton Live Update so Norton can update their Firefox add-on and get that Toolbar working again.
That said, Norton doesn't do anything about Malware. You need a Malware application to locate and remove Malware.

What itunes is asking is would you like to import the files and settings of your ipod to your iphone? It'll import things like contacts, calendar, mail, apps with app data. If you want your phone set up just like your ipod then use that option. Otherwise pick "set up as a new device" and it'll allow you to keep the two seperate and you will be able to sync them both to your itunes independently of each other.

I need to keep my messages.

I need to keep all of my emails. Mac Mail keeps deleting the messages in my Trash (which makes sense, I guess) even though I have checked NEVER delete under preferences. How can I set up my mail so that A. my trash is never emptied, or B. the deleted mail is redirected to another folder? I have marked my preferences to never delete, but my Trash only has messages from the past few days. I am not worried about getting them back, but I need to keep all my messages from this point forward. I don't want them all in my inbox all the time.
Any suggestions?

Look under Message in the Menu bar. Do you see an Archive option? If yes, select the messages you want moved out of the Inbox and it will create an Archive folder. If it's a POP account you might see more than one. It's a bug. In Mail folder there is only one but shows as multiples in the folder window.
You can add the Archive icon to the toolbar is desired.

I downloaded a Lexmark firmware update file for a color laser printer, just to see what it contained.
It downloaded as a .zip file.
I double-clicked the .zip file to un-zip it. (Sorry, I'm not sure which program actually did the unzipping.)
Once unzipped, it contained several files for multiple operating systems, including Windows and OS X.
Double-clicking on the PrinterFileLoader.dmg should start the installation on your Mac.
Opening the README Updating firmware.pdf file and selecting the Mac section revealed:

Your firmware update README file should contain similar information.

Since then, apple computer has had inconsistent online experiences. Sometimes it is not possible to get online while front PC has not problem. This is annoying for the apple user.
