Need to know underlying base tables from infosource.
Hi all,
How can we know the underlying base tables for an SAP delivered datasource. This datasouce is mapping to SAP delivered cube. Please let me know.
Rgrds,
Praveena
Hi
Check the datasource in RSA2 in source system.
If you know the Extract Structure -- check in SE11
[www.help.sap.com] would be the best source to check, for particular datasource, origin tables will be given in website.

Need to know the base tables for the QM datasources
Hello SAP Experts,
I want to know the base tables for the below mentioned datasources which stores the transaction data.
1. 2LIS_05_QE1: Inspection Characterstics Results
2. 2LIS_05_QE2: Inspection Characterstics Results (Quan)
3. 2LIS_05_QVUDN: Usage decision for Inspection
Need your inputs.
Thanks,
Lasya.
Edited by: lasya john on Dec 10, 2008 8:28 PMHi Lasya,
You can use help.sap.com for this.
If you do not find this data source there...then
You can go to LBWE t-code in R/3 and then infront of the data source...you have maintenance option.
Click on that ...and go inside it in the display mode.
Here you can see a generic pool of fields on the left side which can be included in the data source........ field present in the data sources in the right side of the pool.
For every field you have a tructure name infront of it like MCXXXX where XXXX is the table name.
So the field is being from that particular table.
Even I would the same thing to reply to your thread.
You can follow the same procedure to find the table for any LO data source.
This is accurate in 99% cases...only in very few cases like purchasing...we get one or two fields from different tables.
Hope it helps.
Thanks

I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT DRIVING TABLE...PLEASE
Well, My name is Adan. I am from Panama.. my english is not
good. But I'll try. I need to know about driving tables and how
have to choose a driving table and how optimizer proccess an sql
statment.
Example:
Employees have (1,000,000 rows),
dept have (100 rows)
Category have (100 rows)...
I need retrieved all employees with category and dept name for
those employee with salary > 100000
Well, What is the driving table and where i have to put this one
in the from clause ? What about order in the where predicate...
First ?
Select E.name, C.category, D.Departement
from Employees e, dept d, category c
where
and d.cat = c.cat
and e.deptno = d.deptno
and e.salary > 100000
Last ?
Select E.name,C.category, D.Departement
from dept d, category c ,Employees e
where
and d.cat = c.cat
and e.deptno = d.deptno
and e.salary > 100000
I apreciate your help....Thanks and sorry for my english....
Bye..Adam,
If you set your optimizer = choose and analyze the tables and
indexes to generate statistics, then your system can use the
Cost Based Optimizer (CBO) and, like David said, it will
automatically choose the best access path, and the order of
things will not matter.
If your optimizer is not set to choose or if there are no
statistics, then it will use the Rule Based Optimizer (RBO), in
which case, the only thing that matters is the order of the
tables in the from clause. When using RBO, the driving table
should be at the end of the from clause, in the right-most
position. The driving table is the one such that, after the
restrictions have been applied, returns the smallest number of
rows. You would have to compare the number of rows in the
employees table where salary > 100000 to the number of rows in
the dept table (100) and the number of rows in the category
table (100).
In RBO, if there are more than 100 rows in the employees table
where salary > 100000, then your from clause would be:
FROM employees e, dept d, category c
In RBO, if there are less than 100 rows in the employees table
where salary > 100000, then your from clause would be:
FROM category c, dept d, employees e
This is all that applies to the example you have given, however
there are other things that can apply in other situations. For
example, if there is an outer join to a table, the table that
has the (+) cannot be used as the driving table.

What does a BI Developer need to know about SAP tables and why?
Hi,
i.
As a BI Developer, to what extent do you need to know about SAP tables?
e.g. if you work mainly in the functional areas LO and FI
ii.
For example, I know that in Finance, GL relates to the tables BSEG and BKPF.
And if it is important to know about them, then which other tables need to be known and for what reasons?
e.g. do I need to know all these tables: http://www.erpgenie.com/sap/abap/tables_fi.htm
iii.
I thought as a BI Developer, knowing that a particular datasource, e.g. 0FI_GL_4 contains line items is enough and you replicate it to BW and work with it. Why is there the need to know the tables from which this datasource gets is data?
iv. What is the main difference between the FI datasources and the LO datasource?
Thanks.Hi,
i. As a BI Developer, to what extent do you need to know about SAP tables?

Not required, but today business demands so you required this Knowelgde.

We can't say yes or No, so based on your requirement you need to sit with Functional COnsultanst and the understand the Business Requirements and develop the OBjetcs.
iii.

If you want to know the data flow and reconsilization then you need to know it else not required
iv. What is the main difference between the FI datasources and the LO datasource?
Yes, one main difference is There is no setup table concept for FI DataSource*
Note: If you want to become a good BW consulatnt you must know about Tables for normal BW consultant it is not required.

I need to know in which table the long text is stored
Using the transaction code 'AC03' , I go to the ' Create Service Master Page '. Navigating through the page , I could see a ' long text ' button . Once it is being clicked , the white space for text entry comes .
My query is this -> <b>I need to know in which table the long text is stored and the name of the field ??</b>
If one goes to the table 'ASMDT' , one can find a field 'KZLTX' , which is a long text indicator, but not a long text storage field ...... plz helpHi
Use the function module READ_TEXT for fetching the long text..
I came across similar situation in my project where i need to fetch the long text for Notification no.I have used the following code for fetching the Notificatin long text, you can just compare this logic and change accordingly.
CALL FUNCTION 'READ_TEXT'
EXPORTING
CLIENT = SY-MANDT
ID = 'LTXT'
LANGUAGE = WA_STRUCT12-KZMLA
NAME = QMNUM
OBJECT = 'QMEL'
TABLES
LINES = INT_TAB13.
Specify LANGUAGE if you wanna fetch the long text regardless of the log on lang. The resulting long text will be stored in the itab INT_TAB13 which can be defined with reference to the structure TLINE.
Hope this helps.

Need help- need to read a customer table from the payroll schema
Hi gurus,
I need to read an amonunt from a customer table in the payroll schema. Is it possible to input TABLE XXXX in the schema, or is impossible to read from a customer table?Do I need to create a report to upload the amount in an infotype?
Thanks in advanced for for support! You should create your own custom operation (based on operation TABLE) to read your custom table from a Payroll PCR.
If your custom table's name is longer than 5 characters, you may be required to use operations VAOFF and/or VALEN prior to your custom operation in the PCR. -

Help needed in knowing the B2B Table strucure
Hi All,
I would like to know the tables in the B2B database that stores the ISA,GS,ST,Receiver ID and Ack flag data.
Or any document which contains the description of all the tables and what data is stored in them .
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
KaavyaHi Kaavya,
There is a view called b2b_instancemessage where you will get all the details. Please refer the post Getting the ISA Control Number and other details from a b2b generated file
which has the view creation script. If you analyze the script you will get to know the relationship between tables in the b2b schema.
Hope that it helps!!

Need a Query to update table from another table.
I have two tables Table A and Table B , till now in table “A”. I have a column which consist of IDs and duplicate IDs( which are basically formed by Original Ids) , I have another table i.e. table “B” , which gives a mapping between original ids and duplicate Ids
TABLE A:
ID/DUPLICATEID NAME
1 Rahul
1_CAD Pawan
2 Nikhil
3 TOM
3_CAD Ravi
3_MQ Puneet
TABLE B:
ORIGINALID DUPLICATEID
1 1_CAD
3 3_CAD
3 3_MQ
Now I want to have another column in Table “A” , which will give me the mapping between the original Id and duplicate Id as shown in updated table “A”.
UPDATED TABLE A:
ID/DUPLICATEID NAME ORIGINAL_ID
1 Rahul
1_CAD Pawan
2 Nikhil
3 TOM
3_CAD Ravi
3_MQ Puneet
Now I want to write a Query in which I can update this column (ORIGINAL_ID) of Table “A”, from the table B(basically want to update mulitple rows using single query), because table B already has this mapping. Can any one help me in this. I am basically a Java guy , so I don’t know much about it. I hope to get a positive response from you people, Thanks in advance! Here you go...

Need to know the reference table incase of 105 (GR for Blocked STK)
Hi,
I have created one PO and then I have done two 103(GR into Bolcked STK) then after I have done a 105(GR for Blocked STK) against one of the 103.
My question is how could I identify for which 103 I have done 105. Is there any reference table-field where SAP actually stored the corresponding 103 material document number for that 105 material document. How could I link the 105 with the original 103.
Actually I need to show the original 103 number for 105 in FORM output through MB90.
please help me.The PO is same but I know for 103 and 105 there will be different material document number(MBLNR). But my question is as I have done a 105 against 103. How sap maintain in its table data that against which 103 it actually done 105. in which table it stores the reference data. There is no details in EKBE. Can you guys please do it in real time and check this and let me know.

single row subquery returns more than one value.Exactly!
( SELECT a.deposit_date
FROM ...returns all deposit_dates.
( SELECT MAX (a.deposit_date)
FROM ...would return only the latest one.
Also, you need to correlate the sub-query to the main query, so that it only looks for rows with the same ban.
i m using following query
update table2
set deposite_date=(select a.deposit_date from table1 a,table2 b
where a.ban=b.ban and (a.deposit_date between b.cy_start_date and b.due_date))
table2
ban due_date cy_start_date deposite_date
100 5/6/2011 22/05/2011
101 7/11/2011 22/05/2011
102 5/25/2011 22/05/2011
table1
ban deposit_date
100 04/12/2011
100 04/15/2011
102 03/25/2011
101 04/26/2011
101 05/06/2011
101 07/26/2011
can i insert latest deposit_date from table1 which lies between b.cy_start_date and b.due_datePerhaps you need something like this:
UPDATE table2 b
SET deposit_date =
( SELECT MAX (a.deposit_date)
FROM table1 a
WHERE a.ban = b.ban
AND a.deposit_date BETWEEN b.cy_start_date
AND b.due_date
;Notice that table1 is the only table in the FROM clause of the sub-query, but the sub-query is correlated to table2, so we can reference columns from table2 in the sub-query.
Whenever you have a problem, post CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements for your sample data.
Also post the results you want from that data, and an explanation of how you get those results from that data, with specific examples.
If you're asking about a DML statement, such as UPDATE, the CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements should re-create the tables as they are before the DML, and the results will be the contents of the changed table(s) when everything is finished.
Always say which version of Oracle you're using.
