Need to limit the user count to 10,000 in all the Organisations

Hi,
We have a requirement that the user count should not exceed 10,000 in any of the organisation. If it exceeds, then OU Admin should request superadmin/xelsysadm to clean up records i.e to remove inactive accounts.
We need Custom request screen in OIM, so that OU level admin can request/notify super admin about the increase in user count in an ou.
Any suggestions, on how to implement this scenario, will be of great help.

Actually, I want that during create user, as soon as user clicks on create user page, an message should get displayed saying user count in that organisation has exceeded more than 500 and user will not be created.
Then that OU level admin(who was creating user) should request Super admin/xelsysadm to clean up records (Custom request screen in OIM, which should notify super admin). I want custom screen/request, where the ou level admin can say/request xelsysadm that the user count in that org has exceded more than 500 and request to delete unwanted/locked and Inactive account from that OU.
Is this requirement possible, if yes then please guide me.

To handle ur first requirement, you can use the OS Commands option in the file adapter. (you have to play around with the options like archiving etc )

Trying to confine a wireless signal to your home is not a practical solution to security concerns. The distance that a wireless signal will travel is mainly limited by the receiving antena and sensitivity of the receiver. An ordinary wireless receiver can probably pick up your signal for 200 to 1000 feet. A great receiver could probably pick up your signal from a mile or more. The best alternatives are:
a) convert your system to a wired system, or,
b) encrypt your wireless using a good encryption method (WPA or preferably WPA2) and use a strong password.

How to get user count by Planning app in 11.1.2.1

I have no. of planning apps and I need to get a user count by application.
I tried to export the security by using LCM but the export doesn't provide the information in a readable format.
Is there a way to generate a report where I can get the count (user ids) by planning app ?

Could you not get somebody to run the queries for you they quick and simple
anyway if you have to go down the filter per user route then maybe you could use maxl and spool the output.
e.g.
login admin password on servername;
spool on to "path\filename.txt";
display filter on database appname.dbname;
spool off;
logout;

Open your WD project>Dictionary>Local Dictionary>Data Types>Simple Types-->Right CLick and select create new simple type
<name> and <package>
Now you can see your simple type in the editor and set the maximum length to 4.
save the metadata
Open your view and you can see a context tab.
Right click on Context node and select new value attribute
name it .
Go to the properties of the value attribute and select its type to the simple type that we created by selecting the button in the rightmost corner ...

Can we limit the search count in Webcenter Imaging on the basis of user/grp

I have a scenario wherein i want to limit the search count in Webcenter Imaging 11g on the basis of user and group.
For e.g if administrator searches for documents it should return all the search result, whereas when a noraml business user searches for the document only 1000 documents should be returned as search results(if exact search criteria is not met).
I am aware of the General setting in Enterprise Manager, but i want to restrict it on the basis of user.
Can somebody help me, it's really very urgent.

How to find out the concurrent users count in OAM?

We are using OAM, OID stacks to protect our application. From oracle documentation I understand that we can limit the number of sessions per user through OAM session management. But our requirement is to limit the total number of sessions (users) who can login to the application. Is there a way to specify this total limit count in OAM or can i get it through any OAM API?

Ok. Looks like i need to write some custom logic to fetch records from this table and then restrict the new users from login into the application. I was looking for a solution something similar to Sun java system access manager where there is an option to set session quota constraints (see the link below)

How to limit the range of counter using rotary encoder

Hello all!
I'm new user of labview..
I've problem to limit the range of counter by using rotary encoder..
I use DAQmx 6024e in my project..
Actually i am designing the controller for both dyno & throttle for engine testing..
The idea is, i want to vary the output of 0-10V from ni card to control the dyno & throttle..
I'm already manage to get the output from the analog output..
The problem is due to my software..
When i rotate the encoder shaft cw or ccw, it increase or decrease the voltage respectively just like i want..
But, when the counter hit minimum (0 value) it jump to the maximum count which is 16.772M (for koyo encoder that i used)..
In that case the output voltage is increase to 10V directly..
So , the question is how can i limit the range of encoder so that it only count certain minimum or maximum value even the shaft is rotate cw or ccw over it standard limit which is 0 to 16.772M count..

You'll need to do a little software workaround on the values you read from your counter. But first a little tutorial to explain *why*.
The E-series boards use 24-bit counters. When LabVIEW requests an integer count value, the count is returned in a 32-bit unsigned integer datatype, where the 24 lowest bits represent the value in the board's count register. The upper 8 bits are *always* 0's.
The count register can increment from 0 to 16 million plus (2^24 - 1), then it must "roll over" back to 0 again just like an odometer. Similarly, when it decrements past 0, it next goes to the max value of 2^24 -1 as you observed.
So we need a little software workaround that'll convert (2^24 -1) to (-1) and (2^24 -2) to (-2), etc. The way to do it is to first detect whether the highest bit is a 1. One way is to compare whether the count value is >= 2^23, making sure to use integers to do the comparison. Whenever the value is >= 2^23, subtract 2^24 from it to create your new count value which will then decrement 3,2,1,0,-1,-2,-3, etc. as desired.
Here's a link to a similar explanation. Couple more notes too. First, if this is a continuously rotating encoder, you may still encounter a discontinuity when the revised count value crosses the +/- 2^23 boundary. Second, direct connection of a quadrature encoder to an E-series board isn't recommended because of unrepeatability when measureing direction changes.

Is it possible to limit the number of concurrent users for the application in Websphere or at the http management level?

You don't say what version of Websphere you are using, but here's how you might limit the number of sessions in Websphere 4.0 Advanced Edition (other versions may differ):
Open the Administrative Console. Go down the tree to Nodes, Application Servers and click on the server you want to control (likely Default Server). In the right panel, click on the Services tab. In that panel, click on the Session Manager Service and click the Properties button. That pops up a new dialog.
Select the Advanced tab here. Put a number in the Maximum in-memory Session Count field and uncheck the Allow Overflow checkbox. Click OK, etc, etc, and you'll probably have to restart Websphere.
I said "might" because I don't know if this will do what you want or not. Read the help file associated with that dialog and judge for yourself.

I need to check if there is any configuration/workaround to limit the number of sessions/access per user in the Wired dot1x configuration.
I need to check if this feature is available or not to solve the following scenario:
I have 2 SW ports configured to use dot1x authentication with ISE 1.2 server.
If user A connects to the 1st port and authenticated then he will placed on a VLAN based on the authorization profile.
The case, that I need to deny the same user to connect on a different machine with the same credentials.
The ISE itself does not have this feature currently, the only feature available is to limit the number of sessions for the guest user.
Is there any workaround on the Cisco switches to solve this? Cisco WLC has this feature and for the VPN we can limit the number of sessions also from the ASA itself.

I have a custom worklist and I need to develop a requirement for not allowing the users to claim more than one task at a time. Does the Worklist API have something to limit the amount of tasks that a user can claim at a time?.

Apparently the Family Base add-on (https://my.verizonwireless.com/vzw/nos/safeguards/SafeguardProductDetails.action?productName=familybase) from Verizon will allow you to set limits on how much data a particular device can consume. I think it is free for the first 3 months (not sure) after that it will cost $5 per month. I have heard rumors though that it does not work well with iPhones???

The event structure reads the value and, depending on its last state and current state, makes a decision. You should try to look at the logic in the different states and follow what it happening.
Example -
1> Start at low state and 10 degrees
2> Control moves to 30 degrees. Old state = low. New state = low (no change in count)
3> Control moves to 15 degrees. Old state = low. New state = low (no change in count)
4> Control moves to 100 degrees. Old state = low. New state = medium (no change in count)
4> Control moves to 330 degrees. Old state = medium. New state = high (no change in count)
5> Control moves to 20 degrees. Old state = high. New state = low (going straight from high to low means we made a positive rotation. Increase count by 1)
The limits determine the zones of the low, medium, and high states. While the values I choose to use were arbitrary, you would not want to set them too low (or high) to minimize errors. Try it yourself. Set the low limit to 2 and high limit to 358 (this would make the medium zone from 3 -> 357). If you were quick (or the mouse jumped) it might be possible to move from 356 degrees (medium zone) to 4 degrees (also medium zone). So if set improperly you could complete a rotation but not know you changed zones.
On retrospect though the best values would likely be in thirds (I.E., 120 and 240) to make the zones even? I did not do too much testing.
