Need to move all songs to one folder...

Itunes is what I use to listen to all my music on a Windows XP computer... I got really sloppy and just made multiple folders the use to hold my music for itunes. But now, If I delete a folder the song wont play in itunes, says my friend. I want to know if the is a easy way to store all my music in one folder, and not change any setting for my itunes like, album artwork and all of that... Because I went through a filled in any missing info for over 300 songs and if that resets everything... I'll probably just give up on itunes even though it is so convenient with my IPhone...

Once the songs are in your iTunes library, do not move or rename any file or folder. Doing so causes iTunes to lose them, as your friend noted.
If you are looking for something, look in iTunes, and don't look at the folders.
If you want to tidy up your folder structure, do it from iTunes with the Consolidate command.

    Hi Jackcedarh,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature of what you are looking to do. If you would like more information on how iTunes organizes and keeps track of individual music files, you may find the following article helpful:

  • Want to move all songs from laptop to external hard drive...

I was hoping someone could help me move all of my songs from my laptop to an external hard drive in the most efficient manner. My library is using up too much space on my laptop. Any other time I would just copy and paste the songs from one folder to the new folder on the ext HD and delete the files on the PC. If that is okay to do, then how do I redirect iTunes to always search and save to the ext. hd? Or is ther a migration tool that does all of this in iTunes??
    Thanks,
    Sean

This has been covered here multiple times, but again:
If you are running iTunes 6,, see:
iTunes: Moving Your iTunes Music Folder
IMPORTANT: do not delete the iTunes folder or the preference files it contains from your boot hard drive; delete ONLY the tracks themselves (i.e. the contents of the old iTunes Music folder).
If you have iTunes 7, then you can use the procedure above, but a better way is usually to just drag the entire iTunes folder (the entire folder, not just the iTunes Music folder) to your desired location. Then hold down the Shift key (Windows)/Option key (Mac) while launching iTunes. You'll be given a dialog box where you can select the iTunes library you want to use. Navigate to and select the iTunes folder in it's new location. Note that this procedure assumes that all of your tracks are contained in the iTunes Music folder. If they're scattered around your volumes, moving them becomes much more complex.
In either case, don't delete the tracks from the old location until you've confirmed that they're working correctly from the external drive.

Can I move/copy songs from one itunes account to another itunes account on the same iMac?

You move the song files to /Users/Shared/ and then into iTunes from the other Mac OS X user account.
If you want to change the iTunes Store account associated with them, you need to redownload them from that account.

When downloading a CD album, if it contains different artists, the album is split up into separate albums/icons. How do I get all songs into one album (just like the original CD)?

Generally, in iTunes, all you need to do is fill in an appropriate Album Artist to keep things together. For older iPods each track from the same album should have the same artist, or be marked as a compilation where appropriate. For iOS devices you may need to go to Settings > Music > Group By Album Artist > On.

I need to move all of the data from one database to another. For that I am using oracle expdp and impdp tool.
I have the full database export dump file. I moved that dump file to my other database.
Now when I try to use impdp tools it gives lots of error regarding path mismatch, user not exists, role not exists.
As my datafile path of source database does not match with the target database path , also the users are not there in target database. I dont want to create all the tablespaces that in my source database as there are 82 tablespaces. Is there any way by which I can move my all data without using remap option for tablespaces or users and grants.

The FULL parameter indicates that a complete database export is required. The following is an example of the full database export and import syntax.
The user must have the privielge of EXP_FULL_DATABASE

  • Why does iPhone put photos into random folders like "965YOKDJ" in windows explorer? I want all photos in one folder, not separated in a seemingly random manner.

When I plug my iphone 5s into my windows computer and open it in windows explorer, all the photos are separated into folders like "965YOKDJ" and "823WGTMA". The photos don't seem to be separated in a logical way. I would rather them to all be in one folder or, if they are separated, at least have them separated in a logical way like date or something. I doubt, with it being an Apple product, there would be a setting I can change on the iPhone to change the way it labels photos and folders but if anyone knows a way to make this easier and more logical can you tell me? Also if any Apple employees happen to read this could you perhaps improve the way the iphone labels its photos?

Thats the way the files have been configured since the original iPhone so I don't think they are going to change it anytime soon (since it's been 7 years) but you can certainly put in some feedback on apple.com/feedback
I feel you pain somewhat on this one (at least back when I owned a PC).  The folders are not logical nor the naming scheme.  There is no setting you can change to change this as this is created by the operating system.  I would have to assume it is some sort of code.  I have noticed that when I do not take a picture for a long while, a new folder is formed, but again, I'm not sure of the criteria on how the iOS knows when to make a new folder inside the DCIM, but I have also seen with with some digital cameras that are not phones

  • How to move my all files to one folder

hi, I had created different folders in the acrobat.com. Now, I want to move all my files from all the folders to a different folder. How can I do this? there is not copy or move options available. Please help..

Just to clarify, the above answer is for Workspaces (url is workspaces.acrobat.com), which is the legacy form of Acrobat.com. It should also be noted, to move files in workspaces, you can simply drag/drop files to the folder you want to move them to. You can select multiple files using control + shift key or control+A to select all
However, if you are referring to the cloud storage solution Acrobat.com (url is files.acrobat.com):
Select the files you want to move
After selecting the file(s) a tool bar will display
Click on the Move tool and choose your destination folder in the move dialog

  • Podcasts are all put in one folder How do I separate?

I am downloading many podcasts off of Oprah's Spirit Channel. When I click on Get Episode, it starts downloading under Itunes Store. When it is finished downloading, it moves up to the purple Podcats icon. So far, I have downloaded 3. They are all in that one Podcast folder. How do I take them out of there and put them in separate Playlists? When I sync them into my iPod, I think they will be all in one. That doesn't let me pick and choose which podcast I want to listen to.
Am I supposed to be taking them from the purple Podcasts icon and somehow move them to the Library? If so, how do I do that? I know with songs, I have to download them there first before moving them to separate playlists.

  • How to move all files from a folder for a user to a centralized folder on a core server

    Hello,
I'm curious if there is a batch file that can be made to move the contents that are setup like this....
I'm having to redo a TS cluster and I'd like to make a batch file script that can be executed that moves the contents of say 'jsmith's local desktop profile @ \\NGTTS1\users\jsmith to a centralized folder on our roaming desktop profile server that saves
all of the files for the desktops @ \\NGTFS1\users\jsmith.
The problem I have is no matter what I tell users to save there files to our Y drive that is a folder that is synced across all 6 of our TS servers, users still store files on there desktops, so as you can imagine if one day they are on one server, then
next day they could be on another and there files aren't the same.... hence the reason why I want to move all there files to the centralized server so when I redo the profiles from scratch on the TS server in the farm they suck files from the core server and
have all of the files they are used to having....
Now I know I can do this with a MOVE command I've just never done one to this exact.
Hopefully someone knows the command to move all the contents of one folder on one server to the folder on a different server. I've already got the bulk of the coding done of the .bat script I just don't know this move command:
    would it be this:
    move \\NGTTS1\users\jsmith *.* \\NGTFS1\users\jsmith
any help would be appreciated, I'm sure this is a easy command to do!
This is the coding I have so far....
    @echo off
    color 0A
title Moving Local Profile folder to Centralized Profile Folder on Core Server.
    :start
    echo Welcome, %USERNAME%
echo What would you like to do?
    echo.
echo 1. Moving Local Profile folder to Centralized Profile Folder on Core Server
    echo.
    echo 0. Quit
    echo.
    set /p choice="Enter your choice: "
    if "%choice%"=="1" goto Move-user-profiles
    echo.
    if "%choice%"=="0" exit
    echo Invalid choice: %choice%
    echo.
    pause
    cls
    goto start
    :Move-user-profiles
    echo.
    set /p profile="Enter user profile: "
    move "\\NGTTS1\users\%profile%" *.* "\\NGTFS1\users\%profile%"
echo moving files from local profile folder to FS1 profile server, stand-by...
    echo.
    goto cancel-special
    :cancel-special
set /p cancel="Type cancel to stop action: "
    if not "%cancel%"=="cancel" exit
    cls
    echo Action is cancelled.
    echo.
    pause
    exit

In Windows we would do this using Group Policy.  There is a Policy setting that csn move the Desktop folder to any server you want to move it to.  Once set it will automatically do this for you.
You should post in the Group Policy forum to find out how we use Group Policy to manage users profiles in Windows.
You cannot use a script to relocate a users Desktop folder.  The desktop is locked by the time the users logon script is finished running.  It the desktop and profile are already being managed by Group Policy then this can only be done with GP.
There are also numerous issues associated with deployment and re-deployment that you need to address  Post your questions in the Winows Deployment forum to get assistance with deployment issues.
Again - want you are asking is not generally possible because of how Windows is designed.  This would only likely work on a simple system or on a stand alone PC and then only under a very limited set of circumstances.
Use GP folder redirection to do this.  For deployment use Deployment Forum and for TS specific issues post in the RDS forum.
All of  this needs to be considered correctly for TS users inn a TS Cluster environment. (TS Cluster?? - not sure what you mean by that.

  • How to get all songs on one album artwork

I have 1 album that is listed twice on the albums list. I have 2 songs on one and one song on the other. I cannot get them all on just one. I have checked all the info on the info tab and everything is the same. I have copied all the songs in one file on my desktop and deleted everything from itunes and my music folder and when I add it back to that artist it adds two. The only thing that is different is one song was downloaded on itunes and the other 2 were from a CD.
selected all the songs and when to get info and retyped the name of the artist and the artist album and fixed it like blood sugar sex magik.

how about the less painful click the first song then shift-click the last song?
