Need to open and make available port 80 and port 8080

I purchased a wireless adapter for my DirecTV so I can download movies to the DirecTV DVR but the wireless bridge (adapter) can not "see" by Apple Airport Extreme. I was told that I need to configure the Apple Airport Extreme to open and made available ports 80 and 8080. Any help? I am also running Windows so I don't want to have to boot into the Apple side of my computer in order to accomplish this

I will assume that you have the AirPort Utility for Windows installed on your Windows partition ... correct?

Setting up Port Mapping on the 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn) takes two basic steps: 1) Reserve an IP Address for the host device that you want to have accessed from the Internet, and 2) Configure the appropriate ports on the AEBSn to pass Internet traffic to this host device.
You will use the AirPort Utility for both steps.
For the first step:
o AirPort Utility > Select the AEBSn > Manual Setup > Internet > DHCP > DHCP Reservations
o Click the plus button to add a new DHCP reservation for the wireless bridge adapter. You will need the MAC address of this adapter to assign a Private IP address to.
For the second step:
o AirPort Utility > Select the AEBSn > Manual Setup > Internet > NAT > Configure Port Mappings
o Click on the plus button to add a port map.
o Select "Personal Web Sharing" for the Service type. This should auto-populate the Public & Private TCP Ports with the value 80.
o Add 8080 to each of these values; place a comma between them.
Your mappings should looks something like the following:
o Service: Custom...
o Public TCP Port(s): 80, 8080
o Private IP Address: <enter the DHCP reserved IP address you created earlier>
o Private TCP Port(s): 80, 8080

You should be able to put Launchpad back in the Dock by dragging it from the Applications folder to the left section of the Dock. As to why it won't launch, run the Console utility, try to run Launchpad, and see if any messages appear in the Console window.

Have 2 Xbox 360's Ps3 and cant get aOpen NAT on any of them. I have done what I needed to do for the open but both xboxs read Moderate or strict Nat rating and the same for the Ps3. I need help. I am using a E1000 Linksys Router.

Well it is not recommended to play two (2) Xbox 360® units on the same network connected to the same game server since the modem will only generate a single WAN IP address. But still you can do certain settings on router to make (2) Xbox 360 working.

Downloaded new version of Java but doubled clicked on it and it will not install, message says i need to open it with an application and wants me to choose one.

firefox disabled my version of java, i went to the free download site to get the newest version, clicked on download then doubled click on it in the download list, this should have started the intallation but instead i got a message saying i needed an application to open the link and wanted me to choose an app. Install box did not come up as it has with other downloads. I do not want to open it i want to install it.

How to open a .txt data and make a graphic and FFT

I exported some data adquired by an accelerometer to excel. I edited this excel file and saved in .txt. I edited the extension to .lvm and I tryed to open it in labview (using read from measurement file) and I tryed to made a graphic. But the graphic is not correct. What I'm doing wrong? The way I'm doing it's in the file attached. The .txt file is attached too. (when I succeed to make the graphic I want to do a power spectrum with it)

Here is my modification of your VI. I am not sure why yours does not work.
It is possible that something got corrupted because I had some problems saving your VI after I modified it.
The Read from Text File is there so I could see exactly what was in the file.

Need help opening my blackberry-stuck shut and frozen

I have a Blackberry from my work. Don't know the model, it's a slim one with a trackball and both white and black keys. I sent a text msg, then received a reply, and the whole screen is locked. Can't turn it off. Tried to take of back to remove battery and back won't come off. I'm trying not to force it, but wonder if anyone has a suggestion.

Iv been running my mac pro for a long time now, its a Mac pro, 2x 2.26 GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon. 12 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 Ram
Over time now it has become slower, at the moment its still running fine but im sure over time it has probabally collected unwanted data etc. i just dont want it to become a problem as its only going to be used more and more... i now notice that some of the regular programs which i open do take a little while longer to open and i sometimes see that little round Mac loading the sign (the round multicolor wheel).., is there a way to clean the mac up? so that it can run more smoothly and just a better over all feel.,,, the machine is still running beautifully but its time i give it more care and revive it a little more..
What are the best ways to do this, i dont trust any of these non apple based products which claim they can clean ur Mac etc.
Any solutaion and advice that u guys can give would be great and i would be very thankful

For immediate speed improvements, upgrade to a Solid State Drive and upgrade your conventional hard drives to new ones, because the newer ones are faster at reading and writing than the ones from 5 years ago.
By Re-installing your OS onto a solid state drive, the system will boot much faster, and your programs will launch much faster.
I use a small SSD (only 60GB) which contains only OS X and all my apps. All of my personal files are on the large mechanical hard drive. If you still use the drive that shipped with the Mac, then it might be a good idea to replace it.
Depending on what kind of work you do, then additional RAM will help. Swapping CPUs should only be done if you are really in need of the improvements they would bring.

Can you create a keyboard short cut for the dictation mic with bluetooth keyboards? The multi-button requirement to open the onscreen is annoying and unintuitive.

(Using an "iPad 3", i dont care what apple calls it) There should be a built in one button access to this from EVERY keyboard since this function is used to replace typing. An inherent Apple shortcut like copy and paste. I set my iPad up on a framed photo holder and use it like a moniter screen when I write, my Bluetooth keyboard is separated from it and makes writing comments and long articles less efficient because it requires extra steps with every dictation, while taking up screen space to have the on screen open. There needs to be a way to access dictation without the onscreen keyboard open, via any standard keyboard.

Hi, can anyone help me...everytime i start up my imac, i need to open up system preferences "network" and it always show : "A new network port has been detected:
Built-in Ethernet 1
Please verify that it is configured correctly, then press Apply Now to activate it.
And then i will have to click appply now on this "built in ethernet1" so that i can access to internet. After that even i can go internet already, when i open up system preferences "network", the same message(as above) appears.

i recommend sticking to the Make-to-Stock scenario. mixing strategies for the same material in the same Plant (much less in the same order) is not really advisable, nor is it practical (or even possible).
when your order quantity of 150 is compared to your available stock of 100, a requirement of 50 is already transferred to MM/PP as you noted. the requirement can already be traced to the sales order. so i believe there really is no need to mix Make-to-Order in the equation.

To run XI in exchanging information between legacy and SAP systems what are the mandatory ports need to be opened.
I informed to my BASIS guy as Java, XML, Http, FTP ..etc ., ports needed to open but they are asking exact port number you want to open.
It would grate help for me If anybody gives relavent information.
