Need to open NAT for Xbox 360 using AirPort Extreme 2012 Model

Alright this is driving me crazy haha.
Here is the equipment im working with.
Xbox 360
Motoroloa SB6141 Modem from time warner cable
Airport extreme 2012 model
Early 2011 Macbook pro
if its been released i have the update for it. haha
So i have not had this issue before i got the SB6141 on Saturday.
I have read things about it and none of it is clicking. trying to get more personalized help here.
Any Help is appreciated.
Thank you in advance!

So i have not had this issue before i got the SB6141 on Saturday.
That.....is the problem.
Right now, you are getting Double NAT because the modem is providing NAT firewall and the AirPort is providing NAT firewall. That equals Double NAT also known as Strict NAT.
Contact Time Warner support to get the default IP address for the modem so that you can get into the settings and turn off the firewall in the modem.  It needs to be set to pure bridge mode. A decent phone tech will know how to do this.
If you have other modem options, you won't have this problem with a Netgear CMD31T....also on the list of TWC recommended modems.

  • Opening NAT for Xbox 360 (HELP!)

Ok, I really need help. I am trying to open my NAT for my Xbox 360. I recently contacted Xbox Support and they gave Port numbers and told me to contact linksys to help set the numbers up on my router. When I called them, a man told me that my that my router 's warranty is done and it would cost me 30 dollars for him to tell me how to do this. Please, someone help me fix this without giving Linksys 30 dollars. I have the Port Numbers, all I need to know is how to put those numbers on my router. Please someone help!

  • Opening NAT for Xbox 360

    Hey all,
I live in a fraternity house, and we just got an Apple Airport Extreme (802.11a), but we are having trouble playing together on Xbox Live, specifically Call of Duty: Black Ops. I've tried following many manuals across the internet but I can't seem to get my NAT to "Open." I followed Tesserax's manual that he posted for someone a while back, but I ended up only making go from "Moderate" to "Strict." I'm using a wireless adapter for my xbox as well. If anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    1) It's not the only router directly connected, we have 2 others in use as well.
It will be critical to understand the current network configuration with both the AEBSn and these other routers. XBox Live relies on certain ports opened for on-line gaming. It also uses UPnP to do this automatically. Unfortunately, the Apple routers do not support UPnP. Instead they have a similar technology called NAT-PMP, but I don't believe this is recognized by the XBox.
The key is that the router, which has NAT enabled and typically is the one connected directly to the Internet service, is the one that either supports UPnP or must be configured for Port Mapping/Port Forwarding or a DMZ to allow the XBox to have an Open NAT status.
If your AEBSn is downstream of another router, then the AEBSn should be reconfigured as a bridge. This would disable its NAT service and the mapping or DMZ configuration would need to be done on that upstream router.
    2) I tried Port Mapping, not DMZ cause I was unsure how to do the DMZ part.
With a DMZ, you are basically disabling the NAT firewall for a single device on your local network. In this case that would be the XBox. Apple calls a DMZ, the Default Host. Again, this would only be potentially helpful if the AEBSn was directly connected to the Internet source.

  • Open NAT for xbox 360 live???

I am using a westell 6100G with a linksys wrt54g wireless router.  xbox live is saying my NAT is set to moderate.  How can i set it to open?

#1 Check the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and DNS Servers on your computer.
    a) For example if on Windows XP, go to Start -> Run.
    b) Type in cmd and press enter.
    c) In the new window, called the command prompt, type in ipconfig /all and press enter.
#2 With your web browser go to the Default Gateway found, and log-in as need be.
#3 If you get access to the Linksys, go to Administration -> Management
#4 If you do not have at least two game consoles behind your router, turn off UPnP in the router.
By game console, a special type of computer with no keyboard or mouse (and it/they are usually connected to a TV).
#5 In the Linksys go to Status -> Local Network.
#6 Setup a Static IP on the Xbox, outside of the DHCP Server range. http://portforward.com/networking/staticip-xbox360.htm
    For example..
If the Starting IP Address is 192.168.1.100 and the Ending IP Address is 192.168.1.149, you could set the Xbox to use 192.168.1.6
#7 In the Linksys forward to the IP Address that you setup on the Xbox.
#8 In the Linksys go to Status -> Router.
#9 At portforward.com there is text that says Your external IP is
#10 In the router at that screen, you should see the same IP Address.
#11 If you do not, then follow this FAQ to get the modem into bridge mode.

  • XBOX 360 with Airport Extreme (latest model as of Sept 2008)

Ok, so I went through a small **** to fix this, but I figured I'd share with the rest of you that might be just as frustrated.
Most of us just take a router out of a box, plug it in, and it works...right? Well, in this case you may have to do a little configuring. Not hard, but you need to do it.
first, call your internet service provider (in my case, AT&T) and have them give you the user name and password to the internet account. For AT&T users, this is the primary email address and password associated with the DSL account.
Then you have to put your modem into "bridge mode". When you do this, it's important to have the username/password, cuz you will need it to establish an internet connection. I did mine with the AT&T guy on the phone....I suggest the same in case there are issues...
Then, when you program your airport extreme from the desktop, open up the airport utility and manually configure the internet settings to PPPoE. Here is where you put in your username/password you obtained from your ISP. Under NAT, I left mine on "Enable NAT Port Mapping Protocol.
It may be far fetched, but its working fine for me according to my Xbox's network test. It says my NAT is open. It's a freaking Miracle
Tekkies, feel free to elaborate. This is a very condensed version.
    Anyone have any questions, Holla...

Most of us just take a router out of a box, plug it in, and it works...right?
    NO, Not at all.

When you upgrade the firmware on your Router, you need to Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...
For your XBOX you can make these changes on  yuor Router as well as on your XBOX. I think it should make the NAT Open on your XBOX.
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
On the set-up tab change the MTU Size to 1365 and click Save Settings...
Click on "Administration" tab and disable the option UPnP and click Save Settings...
Click on "Applications and Gaming" tab and then click on "Port Range Forwarding" subtab...
    1) On the first line in Application box type in ABC, in the start box type in 53 and End box type in 3074, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box, click Save Settings once done...

  • Need an open NAT for 3 consoles and computer

Have 2 Xbox 360's Ps3 and cant get aOpen NAT on any of them. I have done what I needed to do for the open but both xboxs read Moderate or strict Nat rating and the same for the Ps3. I need help. I am using a E1000 Linksys Router.

Well it is not recommended to play two (2) Xbox 360® units on the same network connected to the same game server since the modem will only generate a single WAN IP address. But still you can do certain settings on router to make (2) Xbox 360 working.
Here is the link which can help you in opening NAT: http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=93&login=1&vw=1&app=search&articleid=23787&userrole=Links...

  • Open NAT. Xbox 360. WRT54GS2 V1

I'm trying to take off the strict nat restriction. Anyone know how to fix?

A known issue with Linksys routers is the NAT Type 3 or anything related to dropping of Internet connectivity during play time.  Network Address Translation (NAT) is the ability of a router or firewall to translate a public IP address to a private IP address and vice versa.  It adds security to the network by keeping the private IP addresses hidden from the outside world.
Gaming consoles such as Xbox 360®, PlayStation®3, and Wii™ often encounter NAT related issues resulting to poor gaming experience.  This problem is resolved by checking the settings on your router which contribute to NAT issues.
Here are the settings for resolving NAT type issues: http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=93&login=1&vw=1&app=search&articleid=22385&userrole=Links...

  • Xbox 360 using airport base station

    Hi
I have an imac connected directly to an ethernet modem which connects to the internet. I would like to connect my Xbox 360 to the internet using an airport extreme base station - i.e. wire from x360 to base station, wireless connection from base to imac and wire from imac to modem.
    Is this possible?
I have tried selecting the 'share my connection over airport' option in system preferences but this does not seem to have done the trick.
Any suggestions much appreciated - thanks!
Intel Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

It's true that the Xbox can support wireless, but it's probably more important to ascertain whether the AEBS is "compatible" with Xbox Live. I have a D-Link wireless router (the DI-624), and D-Link is very explicit about firmware versions that are compatible with Xbox Live (for example, v2.42 of their firmware is supported with Xbox Live, but v2.50 is not). I'm not sure what Xbox Live does that's outside the realm of normal network operations, but it's probably worth finding out...

  • How to make single port fowarding  for camera by using airport extreme  ???

    hi
I have airport extreme model no A1143 (apple)
when I was using linksys ,I have camera
I reserve IP local for camera and then by aplication single port foward I put IP local for camera so I would get for the picture or video
Is any body can help by using apple airport extreme model no A1143
where should I put the IP local for the camera ?which application
    thanks

charlie368, Welcome to the discussion area!
Using AirPort Utility you can configure the AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) to forward the port(s) to the camera. However the camera will need to be assigned a local IP address. The default local IP addresses are in the 10.0.1.x range.
To get to the camera from the internet, you would use the IP address provided by your ISP. This is the one used by the WAN side of the AEBS.

  • XBOX 360 and airport extreme

    Hi all,
I have recently redone my network in the house and have a new airport extreme as a base station and another new airport extreme in my kids bedroom set to "join network" which it appears to do nicely as we get a green light but if I attach ethernet cables to that AE the brand new XBOX 360 cannot seem to get an IP address - currently the network is assigning IP addresses 10.1.0.X to other things but on the xbox 360 it seems to get a 169.X.X.X address when set to automatic (it can attach via wireless nicelly)
Also a PC that I try to attach via that AE does not attach to the network.
    Any help greatly appreciated
    cheers
    Andrew

Using wireless, if you open AirPort Utility, can you "see" both of your AirPort Extreme devices?
If yes, you can check the configuration on the "main" device and change the configuration on the "remote" device.
On the "main" device, open AirPort Utility - click Manual Setup.
Click the Wireless tab below the icons
Make sure that there is a check mark next to "Allow this network to be extended"
    Update settings.
On the remote, open AirPort Utility - clickk Manual setup. Click the Wireless icon
Change the Wireless Mode to "Extend a wireless network"
Make sure there is a check mark next to "Allow wireless clients".
    Update settings.

  • Amazon Q&A - E3200 - Default Nat Type for xbox 360 and ps3

    Linksys E3200 High-Performance Simultaneous Dual-Band Wireless-N Router
the nat type for xbox 360 and ps3, what is it when you set the router up out of the box? are the nat types open moderate or strict

Hi there. It actually depends if the gaming consoles ports are not blocked by your ISP. Moderate NAT type limits your connection playing online games, Strict does not allow you any connection at all while Open allows you to play with everyone online. Have you had a router before with Open NAT on the gaming consoles? Try to check without the router by going directly to the modem and see if your NAT type is open or strict or moderate. If ever modem is fine and it is the router not working right you can port forward ports on the router. I found these usual ports online, for XBOX live:TCP and UDP ports:  80-88, 3074-3074, 4267-4269. For PS380, 443, 3478, 3479, 3480, 5223, 8080 and UDP: 3478, 3479.
