Need to point Printer to specific tray

Dear All,
We have a printer with Tray 1 and Tray 2. I would like to print Labels through Tray 1 and paper print outs through Tray 2.
So what i have created separate output devices in SAP and OS level as well like below
SPAD -Label printer ( settings in output attribute Tray1 ) pointing to OS level PrinterL --> IP
SPAD -Paper printer ( Tray 2 ) poiting to OS level PrinterP --> IP
Where as both the IP are same. Just the trays are different in the same printer.
But it seems to be not working. Could anyone have any idea to fix ? Please advice me.
Thanks in advance
Raj

Hi Raj,
We would need further details to say exactly but this should be possible.
The commands to print to a specific tray should be available in your printers user guides.
What exact printer model are you using?
What device type?
What access method?
The printer defined in SPAD showed have a tray selection under the attributes tab.
The following is a breakdown of setting the tray selection in SAP,
which is handled differently for Smartforms, SAPSCRIPT forms and ABAP
lists.
The following attached Note explains how the tray selection is set for
Smartforms:
189618 - Paper tray and print mode for Smart Forms
For each page of the form, the paper resource can be specified within
the form from transaction smartforms.
eg: /nsmartforms -> <Form Name> -> Change -> FIRST First Page
                  -> Resource Name -> eg: 'TRY02'
For SAPScript, the tray is specified in the layout set of the form in
transaction SE71 as per the following attached Note:
42565  - Select paper feed when printing SAPscript in 3.0x
Again you need to to specify the tray in in form:
se71 -> <Form Name> -> Pages -> Print Attributes -> Resource Name
       -> Enter TRY01, TRY02, TRY03 or TRY04 here
Note #42565 also explains how to  test the paper tray selection by
printing out the standard text SAPSCRIPT-TRAYTEST (supplied in German
and English in client 000) using standard text maintenance (transaction
SO10). This test will verify your device type/printer combination for
Sapscript.
The tray settings in transaction SPAD have no influence when printing
a SAPSCRIPT form. Also with ABAP lists and Smartform, the SPAD settings
are only effective if you use one of the special list drivers described
Note #143375.

  • Need to find printer driver for OS 9.0.4 for Epson Stylus NX415

    Here's my problem:
I have an old strawberry-colored original iMac, running OS 9.0.4.
I also have an Epson Stylus NX415 all-in-one printer.
But -- the iMac does not recognize the printer.
In order for this printer to connect to this Mac, I need to have a "printer driver" extension that I can install (and then restart), so that the printer appears in the "Chooser" window, so I can select it there.
I'd need either a printer driver specific to the NX415, or some kind of generic Epson printer driver compatible with this specific model.
But here's the problem: I think the NX415 was first manufactured AFTER OSX was introduced, so it could be that Epson never even bothered to make a printer driver for OS 9 for the NX415.
    Help!
I've scoured the Internet and legacy sites that specialize in old OS 9 software, and also scoured Epson's site, and could not find any appropriate printer drivers in any of those places.
Any suggestions, or specific links to where I can download such a driver?
Or is it the case that this printer simply physically will NEVER work with this model of Mac, and I should just give up?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello,
A good guess would be that you are right in that an NX415 driver for Mac OS 9 was not made because of the fact that the printer is much newer than the operating system. It is probably going to be difficult to find a Mac OS 9 driver for another model that will allow any or all parts of the all-in-one printer in question to work properly. However, if you wish to carry out experiments, the Mac OS 8/9 drivers on the Epson support page for CX3200 may be as close as you can get.
Perhaps someone else has a better idea.

  • CR2008 Viewer - Printing to specific printer tray

A client has multiple network printers set up to use a specific tray using the Printing Preferences > Paper/Quality > Paper Options > Source. While files printed from other applications print to the correct paper tray, Crystal Reports do not. This worked in CR XI R2 but the web application running the report now requires CR 2008. Now the report prints to the default tray set at the printer, not the Printer Preferences. Is there a way to change this behavior back to the way it was in CR XI R2?

    Hi Scott,
Look for crpe32.dll in our runtime folder.
To get patched to Service Pack 3 go to this page and filter on Crystal Reports, Cr 2008. You'll find the updates to get the service packs as well as the distribution packages.
You also need to get Hot Fix 3.2 to get all of the latest printer fixes...
    Thank you

  • Output printing from specific printer tray

    Hi,
We have a printer with each tray containing different paper, in our case it is the color.  Based on the output we want to print, we want it to come out on a paper from a particular tray so that outputs of type X are on yellow, and type Y on pink etc.  Can we accomplish this through printer definition within SAP or we are doomed to writing ABAP of some kind and passing commands "behind the scenes?"
    Thank you,
    Mike

    HI
I think this would require programming to determine the tray to be used. The problem is that each printer model can have different tray selection commands that are required. Also, if the form is used across multiple areas, each area might have different models.
However, for a single printer YES,the form would have to be specific to the printer being used.

  • M425dn to print fax confirmations to a specific tray

    Hello all
We have an M425dn with an extra tray installed. I've set the faxes to print out of tray 2, but the fax confirmations come out of tray 3. We want the fax confirmations to also come out of tray 2. I can't find an option for the fax confirmations to be set to tray 2. Does anyone know where to find this option in the web interface? I've opened a ticket with HP, but they haven't gotten back to me in days.

  • HP Envy 7645 won't print from photo tray

FIXED my own problem!Never thought to try setting the paper size to 4x6 in/10x25 cm! That's apparently what I get for being metric-phobic (or ignorant). But really, why provide a 4x6 option in the first place?  I can't get my Envy 7645 printer to print from the photo tray.  I'm specifically trying to print from the Photos app. I select the print option, set the printer, paper size (4x6), and paper options to "print from photo tray." I select print, and the HP print dialog appears and from there I am unable to set the photo tray as the paper source. The dialog comes up with "Default Settings" as the Presets option and when I scroll down through the dialog to select the Paper Type/Quality option, it shows paper type as HP Photo Papers, Quality is set to Normal, and the Source is set to Automatic (which fails to print from the photo tray; it defaults to the main tray). When I try to shift from Automatic to Photo Tray, I get an error message that says "The paper size selected is not supported by the Photo Tray. To print with the Photo Tray, go to the Page Setup dialog, choose a paper size supported by this tray, and then return to the Print dialog." At this point, I have no idea where to find the Page Setup dialog (it's not immediately apparent in the avialable options and I can't seem to find it under any of the Photos print options). Further, I don't understand why I'm getting the error in the first place as the paper installed in the tray is, indeed, 4x6 (as set in the original Photos dialog). I've tried playing with any number of varities of options (e.g, changing from HP Photo Papers to the generic other photo papers option, not specifying size of photo paper) and any time I select the photo tray option, I get the error message.

Hey ,  Welcome to the HP Support Forum.  Did you still need assistance?  I see that you have some interface questions about printing photos from a Yosemite Mac using your HP ENVY 7645 e-All-in-One Printer.  I would like to help.  Have you installed your printer's full-feature driver on the Mac?  If not, click here to install. Also, for your information, your printer's specifications re: supported photo paper sizes is available here.       When I tried printing a photo from my Yosemite machine (albeit with a different printer) this is how I configured the print job:   If I had the option I would also recommend setting the paper type to correspond with whatever kind of photo paper you're using.  If this approach doesn't help try the following steps:  Uninstall your printer - click here for instructions.  Repair disk permissions on your Mac - click here for instructions.  Once you've finished running the above-noted utility, restart your computer. Lastly, click here to reinstall your printer.  Please let me know the result of your troubleshooting by responding to this post.  If I have helped you resolve the issue, feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon below and clicking to accept this solution. Thank you for posting in the HP Support Forum.  Have a great day!

  • HP B9180 Photosmart Pro Printer - Specialty Media Tray Not Working

    HP B9180 PHOTOSMART PRO PRINTER
    SPECIALTY MEDIA TRAY PROBLEM
I’ve had my HP B9180 Photosmart Pro Printer for about 2-1/2 years. My computer operating system is Windows XP (with up-to-date service packs) on a Dell XPS PC. The printer is connected directly to the computer via a USB port. It is not connected to a network router. The printer stays on continuously, is very clean & dust free and kept covered when not in use. I use the specialty media tray almost exclusively for loading the larger/heavier media. The specialty media tray suddenly stopped working recently but all other printer operations continue to function properly.
When the tray is lowered, NOTHING HAPPENS. The printhead assembly does not raise up to prepare for loading the media and there is no sound, no grinding, etc. The printer screen does not change to instruct me to load the media and there are no error messages. It just continues to read “READY”.
I have examined the tray and it still lowers and raises nice & smooth. The guide grooves the tray rides on are clean & unobstructed. Nothing appears to be broken on the tray or in the grooves. There is a small plastic arm at the bottom of the outer left guide groove that I thought may start (?) the activation process of the printheads when the lowered tray rests on it. This arm is spring-loaded and appears to be working freely with no binding. Manual operation (with my finger) of the arm does not activate anything.
Early on, when the problem first started, I tried leaving the tray lowered and on two occasions, after leaving it lowered for as much as a couple of hours, it started working on its own. Since then, I have been unable to make it work at all.
    I have tried:
Turning the printer off for several minutes, then back on.
Opening all doors to check for jams or anything unusual.
Lowering and raising the specialty media tray multiple times.
Using main tray (hoping it would maybe vibrate it into working).
Turning the printer off, unplugging everything for up to 10 minutes.
Downloaded & ran the HP Hardware Diagnostic Utility (Passed).
Downloaded & ran the HP Print Diagnostic Utility, v4.1 (Passed).
Checked printer updates. Firmware & updates are OK.
Posted on the HP Support Forum for assistance (no response).
I did not run the HP Home Network Diagnostic Utility because I do not have the printer connected to my network router. It is directly connected to my computer via a USB port.
This problem has come up on the HP Support Forum a few times but I don’t believe there has been a response. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
I just installed or used the same specification of Printer you mentioned above in fact all you need do is to first update your macbook pro afterwards connect your printer to your mac it will ask you if you want to download software for the printer click yes and in two minutes follow the steps and you're done. You don't need the driver nor do you need to download from an external source.
    I hope this helps.

  • Print to different tray from Oracle Financials

Is there anyway I can setup Oracle Financials so it prints by default to tray 2 on a specific printer instead of tray 1? The printer is setup for legal paper on tray 1 and is used that way the majority of the time. However, a user has a need to print to this printer with very large reports from within Oracle Financials that are not legal sized.
    We are using 11.5.10.2

  • How can I print out specific categories on my outlook calendar

After downloading latest version of Icloud. I am not able to print out specific categories on icloud calendar

I tried this Finder drag method & discovered that it is very important to set the blank TextEdit document to plain text before the drag (from the format menu or with Cmd-shift-t). If you don't, TextEdit attempts to load the content of the files!
Once I discovered this, I tried the method with Find (Cmd-F) results & it works for that, too. This means that by choosing the right combination of search location(s) & search criteria, you can extend the method to filter the list to just about any files you want, which could be very handy.
For instance, set the "Kind" criteria to "QuickTime Movie" & location to "Computer" & you get a list of every QT movie. Or set the search location to the folder containing the movies of interest & you get all of them, including ones in subfolders. You could also use the 'date created' or other search criteria to filter the list to a specific subset of movies (or whatever).
If you need to do this often, you could create one or more 'Smart Folders' with the criteria preloaded for each search.
The only drawback I see for either Finder based method is the full path one. If you are getting results from just one or a few folders, Find & Replace can delete any of the path name fairly easily, but it becomes a chore if there are a lot of different ones. Some other text editor, like TexEdit Pro, that supports grep searches would be handy here, but since I'm not up to speed on grep, someone else will have to explain how to use it for this, if they want.

  • Printing to multiple trays from an Adobe form

    Hi,
Does anyone know if it's possible to create a button on an Adobe Form that will send a print job to multiple trays? We have several Adobe forms that need to be printed in triplicate on different coloured paper. Ideally we'd like a button on the Adobe form that will send the print job to all 3 printer trays.
Apologies if this is a basic question, hope someone can help.
    Thanks.

Ok thanks, that's beyond my skill set unfortunately! I was hoping it might possible in similar way that macros are used in Word/Excel.
    Thanks anyway.

No you can't modifiy the out of box prints.

How do I create a print button to print a specific range of the document.  I've found JavaScript to print a specific page, but a range or even multiple ranges.  Form is created in Adobe 9 Pro.  Any help would be truly appreciated!

Sure, I'll give it a test.  Its just that I have a 128 page form that not all of it needs to be printed.
