Need to read a windows NT drive in LION

I seem to remember that in Leopard / Snow Leopard, I could read any drive in Windows format on the Mac Pro...
but now, in Lion, the system does NOT read certain drives in Windows format.
I'm trying to mount one that Disk UTIL seems to think is in a format called "Window NT Filesytem (NTFS-3G)" - is there any way I can get something that will read this format on my Lion Mac Pro?
I don't need to copy TO this drive, I just need to copy files FROM the drive... that's it.
What can I do? A software driver of some kind? Something?

PS: I got an error message that went by too fast for me to read it - it mentioned a "MacFUSE system" or something like that - I have no famliarity with this - can anyone help?

Yes, in system preferences, there was indeed MacFUSE, I had completely forgotten ever installing that... I disabled it.
Then I also noticed a preference pane for something called "NTFS-3G" - I disabled that as well, and, son of a gun, NOW disk utility does indeed seem to be able to mount these windows USB drives.
I am a happy camper! will start copying immediately and see what happens.

Reinstall MacFuse with the one from http://www.tuxera.com/mac/macfuse-core-10.5-2.1.9.dmg. If that doesn't work, you can use Paragon NTFS for Mac 9.0 which has been designed to work with Lion.

Read on Windows external drive, which was used on MAC?

I have used my external drives on MAC, but when i try to read them on windows- they can´t find them. Is there anything I can do about it?

They're most likely formatted in HFS extended which Windows can't read.
There are apps that claim to make HFS drives readable on a PC, but I've never used any.
The drives need to be formatted in FAT for both systems to read them. Formatting will erase all data on a drive though.

Windows 7 driver needed?

I purchased the HP Photosmart C4680 to be shared on a home wireless network from a Windows XP computer. The printer works fine on the computer on which it is installed. I also successfully added the printer to a laptop running XP and it prints fine.
However, I tried to add the printer the same way on my daughter's new Windows 7 laptop and although it seems to have found the printer, I cannot get it to print. Not even the test page. Do I need to install a Windows 7 driver?

I'm having a similar problem with a Canon MP780 printer and a new HPp6230y running under Win7.
If you put the printer on the HPp6230y, it gets the correct Win7 driver right away any it will print nicely. However, if you try to print from a XP machine on the network it can't. The problem seems to be that the HPp6230y lacks the XP driver. When attempting to share the printer with XP machines ....
On the HP-p6230y (Win 7) machine: Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers> double click the icon of the MP780 printer.
Note: Don't click Network Sharing Center, it's a dead end.
Next I clicked display printer properties and a wIndow pops up. Select sharing tab, click button Change Sharing Options.
At that point it says that if you're sharing computers are running different version of Windows you need to install additional drivers. If you click the Additional Drivers button it assumes that you can provide the precise path to that driver. But I have no idea where that driver is located, what its name is whether from my original printer setup disc or on the computer where the printer is connected.
If you put the printer on the XP machine it prints fine from that machine, but the HPp6230y (Win 7) can't print to it. It complains it can't find the driver.
On the HPp6230y (Win 7) machine:
Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Add a Printer > Add a Network / Wireless Printer > A list of printers appears, select printer.
Message: No Driver Found. Windows can't find a driver for Canon MP780 Series printer on the network.... blah blah..To locate oe manually clock OK. Otherwise.... blah blah .... consult your printer manufacturer's web site.
If I try to get it from my original Canon printer install disc, I can't find it. There's lots other bubndles software crap on there and tons of dll and inf files that are unrelated.
If I go to canon web site I get a self-extracting exe for XP but I dare not try execute that on my new Win7 machine
I have verified that the network is working OK and sharing computers are fully trusted.
On the Win 7 machine I have exhaused all paths under Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center. [DON'T take the Homegroup path - that only useful if all machines on the network are running Win 7 - onother time wasting nightmare]

How to read browser(window) title in jsp?

I need to read/find window title in my jsp code. Is there any method/way using which I can find window title?
I can read it in javascript using window.document.title but as we know that we can not use javascript inside jsp, I am not able to use this method.

Is your decision based upon the title of the page you are generating or the title of the page you have just come from?
In either case, basing logic off of a window title sounds like a potential for trouble to me.
If you want to make a decision, then send a parameter for the web application to react to.
You can't get the window.title of the previous page.
You are generating the current page, so you should already KNOW what the title of that page is right? You just printed it!
Potential alternatives which are roughly equivalent:
request.getHeader("referer") gets the url of the page that sent you to this one
request.getRequestURI gets the jsp being currently executed.
request.getAttribute("javax.servlet.forward.request_uri") will get you the original uri that was requested (assuming the page has been forwarded)

I have changed from Vista to Windows 7 on my Satellite A200-20N, and now I can't use the flash card reader in it. I have already looked for drivers, but I only find one for vista, also tried to install it, but was not successful.
How could I use my flash card reader under Windows 7?

Unfortunately I think you can only use the Vista driver and normally they also work on Windows 7.
Maybe you can explain what not successful means exactly
Furthermore you can try a newer card reader driver from another notebook model, e. g. Satellite A300.

In addition to Niel's comments, if you plan to use Time Machine to backup a Mac to the secondary drive.....that application needs a drive that has been specifically formattted for Mac. That would be Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
PCs can also read and write to the Mac formatted drive.

OS 10.5 - Boot Camp - Windows won't read Mac Disc for Driver Install

Hello everyone.
I have been through half a dozen headaches and a dozen hours of time wasted on this problem. I've tried multiple windows discs untill finally I bought a brand new version of Windows XP Pro. I've followed all of the instructions in my printed boot camp manual and I continously run into one problem:
Once windows is installed completely and I am at the windows desktop and need to eject the windows disc and insert the leopard disc to install drivers, I do so and windows does not recognize the mac disc whatsoever. It says the drive is empty, it is 0kb of 0kb, I cannot explore the drive, I cannot do anything. If I open it it is blank. I cannot access the internet in any way on windows because there are no corresponding drivers.. so I am at a loss.
Can anyone please help me? What do I do? I really apologize if this question has been answered, but I could really use some help.

It's a little vague what you mean by the "leopard disk". Do you mean the disk of drivers Boot Camp burns, or the actual Leopard installation DVD?
What you're supposed to do is launch Boot Camp while booted to the Mac OS. One of the first things it does is create a CD of Windows drivers that XP will need for your Mac. So you must have a CD-R or CD-RW on hand.
After that, Windows XP is installed. When that's done, there will be a number of hardware components that XP naturally doesn't recognize. That's when you insert the driver disk Boot Camp creates. I may have listed the order of things a little bit off here, but the main point is it sounds like you're skipping, or missing the part to create the Windows driver disk and trying to put the Leopard DVD in the drive.

You are talking abot a 12years old camera here. Why do you need driver ? It uses SD card, you can simply pull the card out and put it to a card reader on your computer to do whatever you want. Nowadays, all phones can take photos, thousands of very cheap cameras around.
Unless vendors want to close their business, I don't think they would spend money to support old products. FYI, I bought a Nikon D50 early 2006, it couldn't read cards over 2GB, I know a firmware will fix it but no news from Nikon. I bought a Nikon D90 early 2010 and today (yes few minutes ago) I've discovered it won't read cards over 32Gb.

I think I may have adapted my Compaq IJ300 printer for potential use with my new, presently 64-bit, Windows-8.1-operating-system-loaded notebook computer, which has four Universal Serial Bus (USB) ports, but no parallel ports, by purchasing a parallel-to-USB cable to connect between that printer and my new notebook computer.
My short question: How may I obtain just a 64-bit, Windows-8.1-compatible driver for the Compaq IJ300 printer? (not a computer program to scan for needed driver updates, a procedure which has unfortunately failed to lead me to the driver I want in so far at least two instances)

Nevertheless I used that printer in Windows XP Home Edition in an older notebook computer in probably the year 2013 before I no longer could “power up” that computer! Looking at my notes from July 19, 2010, after connecting that printer to my old notebook computer Windows XP reported “Found New Hardware Lexmark Inkjet 4100,” probably for finding the Lexmark 12A1980 color cartridge in the Compaq IJ300 printer at that time, and “Found New Hardware Compaq Inkjet IJ300” for I suppose locating a driver from within Windows XP Home Edition for the Compaq IJ300 printer.
The Web page http://support.microsoft.com/kb/293360 indeed shows that the Compaq IJ300 printer is supported by Windows XP. I read that it is on a Windows XP operating system Compact Disc or else can be obtained from http://www.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=133838&si=bb941f1db37cb35ad6ad9b8e7da36bd8. The resource http://www.driverguide.com/ appears to be a place on the Internet through which one may be able to obtain individual drivers for pieces of hardware. Within that Web site I read that one user found that a Lexmark Z11 driver could used with a Compaq IJ300 printer in probably Windows 2000 with Windows 2000 identifying that Compaq IJ300 printer as a Lexmark Z11 printer. Unfortunately I could not find a 64-bit, Windows-8.1-compatible driver for either the Compaq IJ300 or Lexmark Z11 printers within http://www.driverguide.com/ or http://www.lexmark.com/; the newest Lexmark Z11 probably driver available via the latter Web site was for only Windows 2000 and 32-bit Windows XP. It seems logical that if one has the source code for a driver in use by one Windows operating system, knows the intimate details of that and a newer version of Windows, and knows how to write computer code in the computer language of the driver, then he might be able to take the source code for the driver that works in Windows XP and modify it to work for 64-bit, Windows 8.1. Then after that I suppose he might have to compile and link that source code to make the driver usable by a Windows-8.1 operating system. In a Linux operating system I have been told that the driver source code for a device can be compiled with I think the kernel source code to make a new version of the Linux kernel which includes the function of that new driver. On this adventurous subject I have here at least sometimes been writing well beyond my experience and/or knowledge. But at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff554644(v=vs.85).aspx there are instructions on how to use the Windows Driver Kit to “build” (probably to compile and link) a new driver using I think a starting version of a driver. More speculation on my part is that because Hewlett Packard has not been supplying a Windows XP driver for the Compaq IJ300 printer, perhaps someone may have used something like the Windows Driver Kit in the making of a driver usable for this printer in Windows XP.

First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive might be failing.
There are a few other possible causes of generalized slow performance that you can rule out easily.
Reset the System Management Controller.
If you have many image or video files on the Desktop with preview icons, move them to another folder.
If applicable, uncheck all boxes in the iCloud preference pane.
Disconnect all non-essential wired peripherals and remove aftermarket expansion cards, if any.
Check your keychains in Keychain Access for excessively duplicated items.
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
