Need to Reboot SB6141 Daily

I've been with Comcast for about 2 months now and my own personal Arris SB6141 has been the only modem I've used.  I'm hooking the ethernet out from the modem to my Netgear N900 wireless router.  Since day 1, I've had to reboot the modem almost daily.  Don't know why.  I spoke with an Arris rep about this and they pointed me to some information which suggests that my modem is not the problem, rather it is something upstream.  I reviewed that info and all of my values fall with in the recommended ranges.  The latest error that I've seen in the modem's log not related to me rebooting the modem (power off/on) is : SYNC Timing Synchronization failure - Loss of Sync  .   The modem reboots just fine and I'm back on line with great speed...no complaints there. On a couple of occassions, all of the modem's lights are off except the one for power.  That has only happened a couple of times.  Most of the other times the link light stops flashing or the internet connection light goes out.  Reboots always fix it.  Not sure how to post my modem stats on here.

If the stats as read at the modem level are o/k, there are three additional signal stats which can't be read by the modem. They can only be read from their end by them polling the CMTS (Cable Modem Termination System) at the local headend facility.
They are the 'Upstream Receive Power Level', the 'uSNR' (upstream Signal To Noise Ratio), and the "ICFR" (In Channel Frequency Response). These are as equally important in diagnosing connectivity issues as are the modem's stats.
You can call in and ask what these figures are. The Upstream Receive Power Level should fall within the range of -2dB to +2dB with 0dB being in the middle and perfect.
The Upstream SNR should be least 31dB, and the higher it is the better.
The ICFR should be no higher than 2 dB.
You could have an intermittent noise ingress issue in only the upstream channel(s) / return path only somewhere.
They will be able to see whether or not everything is in the green zone and also see a history plot for the modem.

  • Need to Reboot Modem Daily

My plan is 7.1mbps, and I can regularly achieve a little over 6.  However, my speed typically runs just below 3 until I reboot the modem.  At that time, it immediately achieves around 6mbps down.  If I do not reboot, and check it a few hours or maybe a day later, it is back to the lower speed.  Reboot, and the speed recovers.  If anyone can provide any suggestions they will certainly be appreciated.

Now I don't know how to make my router work more stable. I guess that my WRT350N cannot free up memory for the ports has opened it after unused them. After working around several hours, internet slowing down and it need to reboot. My PC usually run vuze (azureus). I hope that new firmware can fix this issue ASAP.

If you have to reboot the router daily you must upgrade the router's firmware...
    Download the Firmware from here
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device: -
Open an Internet Explorer browser page.In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1
Leave the username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful"  After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

  • Painfully slow or need to reboot

Ever since I installed Yosemite on my MacBook Pro, my computer is either constantly so slow or needs to be rebooted.  I NEVER needed to find out before how to do a Ctrl-Alt-Del for a Mac until I loaded Yosemite.  Any suggestions on how to make my computer run the way it use to?

  • Stratosphere garbled calls, need to reboot

I have a Samsung Stratopshere, almost daily I am needing to reboot my phone. I will be on a call, all the sudden the caller will hear crackling and screeching. If I call them back they instantly hear the screeching/crackling. In order to resolve this I have to reboot, this has been going on for quite some time now...getting quite frustrating!

i have tried resets multiple times
Besides the multiple resets, have you tried a restore? That is the next step in the user troubleshooting. If you have done a restore, did you do both from backup and as a new phone?
If you have done all of these, plus what you have done with AT&T, the next step is Apple. If you do not want to travel to the Apple Store, you can call AppleCare and ship the phone to Apple, however you would be without a phone until it is returned. At least if you go to the Apple store, you walk out with a phone, either the one you came in with, or a replacement. You can make your appointment on line at http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar That way you walk in and are taken care of when you appointment comes. If you go without an appointment, you have to wait for the first available opening.

  • I Beta tested 4.0 RC1 and now can not upgrade to 4.0. Error message is need to reboot to complete prior instalation. Have removed all previous versions of Firefox, rebooted and still same error message.

I Beta tested up to and including 4.0 RC1 without major problems. However I can not now upgrade to 4.0. Same error message time and again, "need to reboot to complete prior upgrade instalation". I rebooted several times, then tried first removing all previous versions of Firefox using both MS Add/Remove and then iolo System Mechanic, then again downloading 4.0. Even after rebooting same error message. I can not therefore install/use Firefox.

    Do a clean (re-)install:
    * Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 4.0: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
    * Don't remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

Was this a dark gray screen that appeared with the message to restart the computer in five different languages? If so that's a kernel panic. It would help if you can post the panic log: Mac OS X- How to log a kernel panic. Also visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on diagnosing kernel panics.

  • HP Envy m6, Updated for Windows 8.1, hard drive needs to reboot

    Hey,
I've just updated my software to get the new Windows 8.1. On completing my updates, I recieved a message saying my hard drive has changed and that I need to reboot it. How do I do this? Do I risk losing my files? HELP
    HpEnvym6beats

Hello hpenvym6beats. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. I understand the computer provided a message, indicating the hard drive has changed. It shouldn't become a huge issue, as it does occur sometimes, after completing updates. Just turn off the computer and turn it back on. Your files should not be lost, after completing this task.
Please respond if you have any other questions or concerns.

  • Anyone else have the issue where, after the 8,3 upgrade, you cannot access more than 1 exchange account on your iPhone? This is annoying to me as I need to access 4 daily and cannot due to this error.

Anyone else have the issue where, after the 8,3 upgrade, you cannot access more than 1 exchange account on your iPhone? This is annoying to me as I need to access 4 daily and cannot due to this error.
The first one, my private home email, works fine. With the other 3, I get the message "Cannot get mail: The connection to the server failed"
All were working fine before the 8.3 upgrade. I did try the old trick of making one minor change on the account and resaving, but that did not change anything. I even deleted my work account and re-entered it from scratch, but again, sadly, no luck. For the time being, I am successfully getting the email via IMAP, but this ***** compared to exchange. Anyone have any idea what is happening or if a fix is in the works?

Well, the one set up on exchange 2k3 is now working fine, although no changes were made on either the iPhone or the exchange side, so that's fun, but it still is throwing errors when connecting to the other 2 exchange accounts. The common elements are that both non-functioning exchange accounts are google apps for business accounts. So is one of the ones that's working, by the way. The settings on both accounts are the same as the one that's working, and both worked fine before the 8.3 upgrade. I have no issue accessing both of these accounts on my ipad which is currently on 8.2.x. If it's not the iphone OS at fault, I'm at a loss as to what it could be.

  • I need to reboot my HP Elitebook 6930p hard drive but no F11

I need to reboot the hard drive on my HP Elitebook 6930p. I'm using Windows 7. I hit escape upon turning the computer on and then F9 and chose the hard drive reboot option but then after hitting escape again there is no F11 option to take me to System Recovery. The F11 key does nothing and it's not even listed as an option. Does this mean I need to get discs to reboot and if so, does anyone know where I can buy them low price? If not, is there a step here in the reboot process that I'm missing? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. Paul

    Hi:
Yes you can get any version of W7 that the product key on your notebook is good for at the link below.
Use the applicable SP1 Media Refresh ISO file as they are the latest ones.
    http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/14709-Windows-7-Digital-River-direct-links-Multiple-Languag...
After you download the ISO file make sure you got the whole advertised file size.
Then use this tool to transfer the ISO file to a 4 GB USB flash drive or DVD.
The tool will also make the media bootable.

I was able to get live chat support to solve the problem in my post. It worked immediately. Here is what I was told to do. I needed to perform a clean installation Hopefully, it will work for you, too.
"To perform a clean installation, first close Firefox completely. (This chat window
must be closed if it's in Firefox) Then, rename "Mozilla Firefox" to "Old Firefox".
(On 32-bit Windows, this is C:\Program Files\. On x64 Windows, this is
"C:\Program Files (x86)". On Mac, Firefox is in /Applications) Finally, re-install
    Firefox normally from http://www.firefox.com"
Since I had already downloaded 4.0, I just went to my download file after renaming the file and ran it.

Hello, I've been trying to read the previous forums on this topic and none of the advice has worked for me. I am running Photoshop 7.0 on Windows XP. It has been running fine for several years until this week. I ran the Spyder 2 Suite to calibrate my
