Need to recover photos OFF of my IPod

Can anyone help me recover photos that are saved to my IPod (30GB model) but were inadvertently DELETED from my PC? I can still view them on my IPod. When I connect and try to pull the Photos folder over to my PC, I get a folder called "Thumbs" with five huge files in it with an ".ithmb" extension. I also get a file called "Photo Database." My computer doesn't know what to do with these.
Is there a way to recover the actual .jpg files from this information?
I really appreciate your help!

There are various programs out there for recovering photos from an iPod, have a look at the ones below. If you search the internet you can find more. Just be aware that what you'll be recovering will be photos optimised for the iPod so they won't be the same quality as the original full resolution versions:
iPodPhotoCopy Windows only
CopyPodPhoto Windows only
Tansee iPod Transfer Photo Windows only
iPod Photo Liberator Mac & Windows
iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
If you have full resolution copies of the photos on the iPod have a look here: Apple Knowledge Base article - Use Disk Mode to copy photos from iPod

  • Need to get photos OFF of 30GB iPod Photo onto Windows XP computer

I recently used my iPod camera connector to store about 200 pictures on my iPod. Now I need to copy them to my computer. I cannot get the files to transfer. They don't show up when I view my iPod as a disc drive (I could see "roll 2" "roll 3" but there was nothing behind the folder). I read on other posts to change my ipod settings on itunes to "disc mode" but I have been unable to figure out how to do that.
I would prefer not to use outside software, so if you have solutions that don't require any, I would like to hear those first.
    Thank you for the help!

  • I need to get my Photos off of my iPod touch...

I have a iPod touch 16GB and a MacBook Pro.
Recently, I upgraded my Mac to Leopard, and had to wipe my HD. I thought that i had backed up all of my files to disks. Turns out that one folder didn't back up, and it was from my pictures, and they are pictures that are really important to me! They are still on my iPod Touch and I would like to get them off.
Does anybody know how I could do this? Are there any programs?

You may be able to find a program to transfer the photos off of the ipod touch back to your computer, but they will not be the same resolution as they were before. Itunes resized the photos before it transfered them to the ipod, so they will be of now a fairly low resolution even if you can transfer them back.

  • I need to get photos off a water damaged iPhone 3GS. Can I take out the component that has the photos (is this the main board?) and put it into another of the same phone to retrieve the photos? Please help

I need to get photos off a water damaged iPhone 3GS. It spent time underwater, saltwater. I let it dry for a week, turned it on, the apple symbol came on, then it died. I need to retrieve my photos off it. Can I take out the component that has the photos (is this the main board?) and put it into another of the same phone to retrieve the photos? Please help

You're talking about the logic board. The two most likely things to get toasted, with water damage, are the battery(it shorts out), & the logic board. The worst water damage would be salt water. I'm afraid your logic board is toast.

  • Deleting photos off of my ipod and itunes

on my ipod nano i have 12 photos and on my computer in my photo library i have alot of photos...probly houndreds.
how do i take the photos off of my ipod with out putting more on.
also i dont know how to put specific photos on my ipod how do i put photos on my ipod

First create a folder in windows with the pictures you would like on your iPod. Then in your iPod preferences in iTunes (iPod must me connected), select the folder you made and sync!
Alternatively if you use Adobe Photoshop Elements/Album, create a collection of the photos you want and then select that collection. This options saves youf rom having duplicates.
    Hope this helps!

  • I need to retrieve photos off my iphone4 help please?

ok so recently i dropped my phone down the toilet   which obvs caused water damage, my istincts where to act quickly and dry it off, however im a stupid teenager and decided to charge it into a power source ( i did this out off sheer panic) i know now i shouldn't have, i then asked my friends what to do and they said chuck it in a box of rice to dry out, so i did this and left it for around 24 or more hours i then plugged it into a power source again as it won't work without one. however it just turned itself off.
my problem is i didn't back my phone up properly last time it was plugged into itunes and the photos on there are part of my studies for my to pass my exams :/ which are round the corner! i have tried everything to get these photos off my phone but everything has failed. Even plugging it into the computer itself
im contacting my insurence about this all tomorrow as i need a phone as well as this ones now fried. but my main problem is these photos and if anybody has any clues or what so ever i would really appriciate it as im having a massive freak out purly based on a few photos appart from that its just a phone!
i also don't have icloud memory left so it won't have backed up with that :/

    Hi.
1st keep in mind that iCloud storage is different from photo stream storage, so you may not have backed up your iPhone as you said since you have no iCloud Storage but still there is a possibility that they are in photo stream storage. Apart from that I can only tell you that the main thing is somehow have the iPhone plugged in into a computer so you can import all pictures but if the computer does not see the device i´m afraid that you may not recover the pictures.

  • Etting photos off of my iPod

I had a system crash and had to rebuild my system. I had back-up up until the past week, but had loaded some photos in the past week that were lost - well sort of.
They exist on my iPod (and no where else) and I am trying to figure out how to get them off of the iPod and back into iPhoto or somewhere.
Does anyone have any advice or suggestions?
    Thank you!

Thanks for the reply. In the end, I had to change iTunes setting to manually manage items, then it appeared in My Computer (still not in Autoplay devices though as per the instructions). From there, I was able to go to the DCIM folder and copy the photos. They need to update their support document a little.

  • Does anyone have suggestions for a legitimate file extracting program? I need to get music off my old IPod (the ITunes it's on is on an old computer that no longer works) and onto my new computer so I can download it to my new IPod.

    Thank you!

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only purchases from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

  • Deleting photos off my 2G iPod Touch?

I want some photos off my iPod touch 8gb 2G, please help me!

Remove them from the folder you have set your iPod up to sync photos from.  Look under your Photos tab in iTunes to see which folder this is. Then resync your iPod.

  • Is there any way to get photos off of my ipod back onto my computer?

I accidentally deleted all of my pictures from my computer. I have itunes set not to sync the photos from my computer to my ipod. So that means that the photos are still on my ipod.
Is there anyway I can get these back on to my computer.

I didn't delete them from my computer. I put them on a dvd and I had it sitting on my desk. I wrote "my pictures" on it and set it down on my desk. I had another dvd that had the same thing on thing written on it. I thought I picked up the one that i thought was the old one, but it wasn't. So i have the dvd that has all of my old pictures on it, but i lost all of my more recent ones. I didn't feel like putting that on the post so I just put that I deleted them from my computer.
Do you know of anyway of getting them off of my ipod back onto my computer. Maybe taking it to an apple store or something?

  • Iphone disabled, I need to recover photos!

My OLD iPhone was disabled by my daughter and I don't have a backup for our photos! How do I recover them or is all hope lost?
Our new iPhones are fine, my wife didn't realize I still had to pull photos off of my old one before she let my daughter play with it. I am definitely not a criminal, so don't bother suggesting thievery. I would like to recover several family photos and I wanted to know if there was any hope before restoring the phone!

This old iPhone has never been synced with iTunes or was not synced with iTunes since all photos were captured by the iPhone?
If not and the iPhone has been permanently disabled after trying to enter the passcode incorrect too many times, you will not be able to import the photos from the Camera Roll nor back up the iPhone with iTunes before having to restore the iPhone. This is a security measure that can't be bypassed regardless if you are not a criminal. If there were a way to bypass this, there wouldn't be much reason to include the option to begin with.

  • Recovering Photo's on new iPod

    Hello all.
I recently took my iPod to PC World to have a screen repiared, after a few weeks they told me they "can't fix the screen" and had "written the item off". So instead of sending my iPod back to me (worked fine,  just the screen was cracked) they told me to come in store and collect a new one.
I now have the new iPod, is there any chance I can recover the photo's that were on the old iPod?
(Not sure if that makes sense!?)
    Thanks,
    Steve.

    - If they are in an iPod backup then restore from that backup. See the restore topic of:
    iOS: How to back up
    - If they are in the iTunes backup then get them from the backup by:
Recover iPhone, iPad or iPod photos from backups with Picturescue
    - If you used PhotoStream then try getting them from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:
