Need to reinstall iphoto, apple reinstalled mac os x and it's gone

I had to go to the apple store and have my mac os x reinstalled. Now I don't have iphoto or garage band on my computer. Can someone please tell me how to get them back? I tried downloading iphoto from downloads but it said no eligable iphoto was found in application folder. any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you. I need my iphoto lol

These should be on the software install disks that came with your computer. Otherwise you'll need to purchase the iLife package. There is no way to download the apps.

Did you purchase the software on physical media or did you originally purchase a download?  Have you checked your order page to see if it is available?

you can't add or mofidy partition numbers. especially not if and once you have windows installed.
boot from Windows 7 DVD afterwards
but first you have to tell us and Christopher what and how you partitioned your system.
Successful setup of OS X Lion + Data Partition + Bootcamp Win7 Ult

So after many, many hours I think I've finally figured out how to successfully setup Mac OS X Lion on one partition, a seperate data partition, and Windows 7 Ultimate on a Bootcamp partition . Here is a screenshot of my setup on my 13" MacBook Pro

    Paragon CampTune
Paragon CampTune is a commercial product that is designed expressly for this task. http://www.paragon-software.com/home/camptune/ It consists of a downloadable ISO that needs to be burned to a disc and booted from in order to resize the partitions costs US$19.95.
    Securing Dual-System Configuration
Imaging is still the most affordable and robust way to secure computer data. Unfortunately Mac OS X backs up only HFS+ volumes, leaving Windows with dual-system configurations unsecured. You can permanently lose all of your data unless you have a Windows-compatible backup solution.
Paragon’s CampTune and Paragon’s Drive Copy for Mac can secure the entire dual-system configuration. CampTune creates traditional images of volumes or entire hard disks, Drive Copy can copy them to other disks. In case of an emergency, you can restore the previously created image or copy all your data back to its original state.
    GParted Live
GParted Live is similar to CampTune as it is also distributed as a bootable image that needs to be copied to a CD/DVD or USB flash drive. As free and open source software, distributed under the GPL, it will always be available free. Since it has more functions than CampTune, it may be harder for folks who are not as experienced with partitioning hard drives. http://gparted.sourceforge.net/
    iPartition
Coriolis Systems' iPartition is a £29.95 ($44.95 US) utility that runs in Mac OS X and allows resizing of all of the relevant partition formats, including HFS+, FAT32, and NTFS. It provides a Mac-oriented user interface that may be easier to manage than some of the free utilities. As it is not capable of resizing the boot disk, it requires a bootable external disk or a boot DVD. (A tool to create a boot DVD is included.)
    Paragon Partition Manager
From the makes of CampTune is a commercial tool that is similar in functionality to GParted Live, but has a more polished/friendly user interface than GParted Live. Previously only the US$79.95 Professional version supported all the features required for this, but as of version 11 the US$39.95 Personal version has also been reported to work. http://www.paragon-software.com/home/pm-personal/
    Winclone/Disk Utility
Winclone is a free tool for creating and restoring backup images of your Windows partition. One of its key features is that it can restore to a larger partition than the one the image was created from.
NOTE: Winclone has been discontinued, but for now remains available and capable of completing these tasks (including creating and restoring Windows 7 images).
Winclone updated to support Lion Winclone updates and download
Disk Utility can resize HFS+ (Mac OS) partitions, but is currently incapable of resizing NTFS partitions, so you could use it to reduce the size of the HFS+ partition and create a new larger placeholder MS-DOS (FAT) partition
    The full process would be:
    Backup Windows partition with Winclone.
(if the new Windows partition is smaller than the old one make sure you set the preferences in Winclone to save the image as an uncompressed dmg)
    Delete old Windows partition
    Resize current Mac Partition
Create new Windows partition as MS-DOS (FAT) in free space after Mac OS partition.
(If the new Windows partition is smaller than the old one an additional step is required: shrink the filesystem on the image by selecting Tools->Shrink Windows (NTFS) Filesystem)
Reboot your computer for the new Windows partition to mount properly (winclone may not restore if you don't reboot)
Restore Winclone partition over new Windows partition
An alternate Winclone based process is described in the External Guides section
    Native OS utilities
MR user Kazyua reports that you can use the disk management utilities provided with the current operating systems if you want to do it manually. Windows 7 and OS X both have partition resizing functions built in. In OS X, open Disk Utility and manually shrink the mac HFS+ partition by dragging the lower right corner. Then in windows go to the start menu and type "disk management" into the search box then hit enter. You should get an overview of the drives you have and the individual partitions. Right-clicking on the partition gives an "Extend Volume" option. The Windows NTFS volume should then be extended into the free space you created with Disk Utility. This method has not worked for other users, so try at your own risk.

  • Need to reinstall Mac OS after lion update, how to?

    Hello guys,
I recently brought my MBP 15" and imediatly downloaded Mac OS X Lion via apple store, but I after sometime I realized that screwed up some settings during initial setup. Now I need to reinstall(format) my current OS to fix what I've done.
First question: Is there a way to change those initial setup settings (like MAC-pc name) without formating it?
Second question: if not, will I need to buy Mac Lion again to reinstall it? (cause, as far as I know, there's no such thing as a Retail Lion DVD on stores)??
Third question: How should I procede to format my current OS? Cause I got only a snow leopard Retail DVD and the restoration DVD that came with the MBP box. Unfortunately, both are not working to restore a Mac Lion OS.
I kinda know what I'll have to do: Format with Snow Leopards DVD and then download Lion via Apple store again, but I'm just wondering if there's anyother possibilities.
Thank you for your time guys. bb

Changing your computer name is trivial and does not require a re-install.  In fact, almost nothing requires a re-install.  The only thing I can think of would be if you need to reformat the partition for some reason.
    Go to System Preferences
    Go to Sharing
Make sure the lock at the bottom left is unlocked
Enter new computer name at the top
    That's it!
You definitely do not need to re-install snow leopard ever again, even if you do decide you need a Lion redo.  Just boot your machine while holding Command-R.  You will get a Recovery Install option.

  • I have OSX Lion 10.7.5 and iphoto 11 9.2.1 I have spent 3 days making a book for christmas and when I go to buy it I am told I need to update iPhoto.  I went to apps and clicked on the update tab but it showed no results.  HELP!

I am trying to buy the book I created in Iphoto and it says I need to update iphoto.  I have OSX Lion 10.7.5 and Iphoto 11 9.2.1.  I don't know how to update.  I tried to follow the suggested instruction by going to Mac App, clicking on update tab but nothing was found.  I am not sure what to do.  I have spent three days creating this book for a Christmas present and I am 5 hours from the closest Apple store.  Can anyone help.  I don't mind paying for upgrades if that is what is needed I just don't know what is needed or how to do it.
    Thanks,
    Linda

Yep, just install iDVD (plus sounds and jingles) and iWeb if you want it (but note that iWeb apparently won't work if you upgrade to Mountain Lion).
Then use Software Update to get any late iDVD updates.

  • HT4906 I PURCHASED THE LATEST VERSION OF IPHOTO FROM THE MAC APP STORE, AND WOULD LIKE IT TO WORK ON THREE OF OUR COMPUTER'S.  HOW CAN I DO THAT.

If I purchase the latest version of iphoto from the Mac app store on my Macbook Pro, how do I get it to run on my two other Mac computers, which are desk top computer's?

Sign into the App Store on each computer that does not have iPhoto. Use the same Apple ID used to purchase it. Locate iPhoto in your Purchased list and click on the active Install link.

  • Do we need to reinstall Mac OS X 10.4.7?

    Macfixit in http://www.macfixit.com/article.php?story=2006062914492384
    referred:
“Apple has released a revised version of the Mac OS X 10.4.7 updater for Intel-based Macs due to the omission of some files related to OpenGL performance.”
“it appears that Apple made the revision June 29th, so you should re-apply the delta or the combo updater to make sure you have the new files”
I upgraded to 10.4.7 using software Update on June 27th.
So, do I have to download the new package named MacOSXUpd10.4.7Intel.dmg and reinstall it?
Or, will Apple correct this situation with softtware update again?
    Thank you

    1. Is it correct to make a bootable clone from my Startup Volume if my OS X 10.4.7 must be re-updated?
Yes, it's OK. You can update OS X on any volume to keep it up to date or re-clone or use other backup software to make incremental backups to keep a backup current with the main volume. Some good backup apps are Retrospect, Synchronize! Pro X, Deja Vu, and Super Duper.
    2. Restore in DU is making a Backup of the whole HD and because of that we need a destination volume with the same capacity?
Yes. That's correct. You want a backup volume large enough to contain the main hard drive. Free space is not copied.
    3. Beyond this, is there a way of making only a bootable DVD with Mac OS X only and some applications (DiskWarrior or TechTool Pro)?
Not at the present time. Neither DiskWarrior nor TechTool Pro are compatible with Intel Macs, although MicroMat has released a Beta version of TT Pro that is compatible. When it is fully released it will be available on a bootable disc.
    1. I have downloaded Delta Updater (133 MB) and first instalation of my MBP was 10.4.5 and some days ago 10.4.7. (always with Sofware Upadte) Is it mandatory to download the 215 MB Combo updater? Any "problem" If I choose the Delta Updater?
In general there should not be a problem using the Delta updater nor updating by Software Update. However, sometimes problems arise after the update that are frequently resolved by installing the Combo Updater. Because of that I recommend using the Combo Updater as a precautionary measure.
Do you recommend to use safe mode even upggrading with Software Update?
Yes. Upgrading in safe mode after repairing the hard drive and permissions will assure the most trouble-free results. Using safe mode turns off Spotlight and removes the potential for third-party software to interfere with the upgrade process.
I hope this answers your questions. If I have omitted any information please ask.

  • I reinstalled Mac OS X and I lost iLife '11 and so on, is there a way to get it installed?

Is there any way to get it another time installed? Or what can I do.

You should be able to install your iLife applications from the App Store. This Apple Knowledge Base article has the directions.
OS X Lion: About Lion Recovery
Restoring iLife applications after Internet Restore of OS X Lion  If you reinstall Lion on a new Mac that shipped with OS X Lion installed, on an erased or replaced hard drive, you can download iPhoto, iMovie, and GarageBand from the Mac App Store. After installation, start from Lion.
Double-click the App Store icon in the dock.
Enter your Apple ID and password.
    Click Purchases.
If you haven't previously accepted your bundled iLife applications within the Mac App Store, you should see your iLife applications appear in the Accept portion of the screen. Click Accept.
You may be asked for your Apple ID and password once again. Your iLife applications now move to the Purchased section. These applications are part of the software that came with your Lion based computer. Your account will not be charged for them. Click Install to compete installation of your applications.

  • Need to reinstall Lightroom 2 softwear and Lightroom 3 update.

My hard drive failed  and I had to replace it.
So now I need to download and reinstall my Adobe Lightroom software.
    I bought "Lightroom 2" Oct 29, 2009 and upgraded it to "Lightroom 3" June 17, 2010.
I have the order numbers and serial numbers.
My question is, where do I go to download Lightroom 2 and the upgrade to Lightroom 3, or can I download Lightroom 3 and use my upgrade serial number to activate it?
Can you help me with this?
    Thank you,

    Photojohn,
Yep, just download the final version of LR 3 and apply both serial numbers the first time you run it.

  • 8 is rejecting my key code.  Support indicates it is a valid code and I need to reinstall.  I did and it is still rejecting.  What should I do next.

Thank you for considering my question.  That is very generous.
8 is rejecting my key code.  Support indicates it is a valid code and I need to re install.  I did and it is still rejecting.  What should I do next.

    Acrobat 8 ?
    Standard (sn:1016...) or Pro (sn:1118...) ?
Do you install from CD/DVD or download?
If it's a download, what's the size of the install file and where did you download it?
Is it a full version or an upgrade?
What's the operation System (Win, Mac) ?

  • I did a refresh of Windows 8 and need to reinstall Production Premium CS6 and Lightroom 4.

Do I have to install the previous versions or is there a menu to add previous numbers?

No need to re-install earlier versions first. The upgrades include the full program code.
Just re-install PP CS6 and LR4, enter your serial number.
If it's an upgrade serial number, the installer will ask you to enter the serial number from an earlier qualifying version. Then the install will complete.

  • Reinstalling mac os x and having issues

So the mac was giving a blue screen when ever it was turned on, the wheel would spin but nothing would happen, no login or anything. So, when taken to the genius bar they said we had to restore the os. They gave us a sheet of paper that gave instruction on how to, but in the time it took to locate the disc that came with it, the paper was lost. Now, we tried installing but once we got through half of the install the computer restarted and then gave a kernel error. after restarting, its not going any further and we cant even eject the disc to put in the second install disc.

*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
