Need to reinstall/transfer use of my CRW to a new machine
I recently lost my development machine and need to reinstall/transfer use of my CRW (2011) to a new machine/. I have the original download image and the key. But when I install on this new machine, it give me an Invalid Product Key message.
Is there a re-registration I need to do to accomplish this?

In any case, you can get Adobe support to deactivate the inaccessible installation if you contact them thru chat.

Need help to transfer itunes songs from older ipod to newer ipod
I have an older ipod (one of the first generations!?) that I have downloaded songs from itunes years ago; however, those songs are not in my itune library. I now have a 3rd generation nano 8GB that I would like to put these songs on. I have tried downloading them to my laptop and then transferring into library. The songs will transfer into itunes library, but I can't get them to transfer onto the ipod. I transfer manually (don't sync songs)because I also have two sons that also have ipod nano and shuffle. When I click and drag the song from my library to the desired folder on my ipod it tells me that my computer isn't authorized. I have authorized the computer repeatedly and I still get the same message! I noticed the songs are protected and wonder...does that have anything to do with not being able to transfer?
The songs were originally purchased on itunes store several years ago. I don't know why the 30 to 40 songs I have on the original ipod are NOT in the library, but I would really like them to be on my new ipod. (I have 200 plus songs that are on both ipods/library.) Can anyone help me? I feel I have tried everything and getting extremely frustrated! Are these songs a lost cause?

How to transfer Logic Pro X downloadable content to new machine?
Hi, so I've got Logic Pro X installed on two machines, on one I've recently downloaded the 30 odd GB of additional content. Needless to say I don't really want to do it all over again for the other machine.
Is it possible to just copy the content onto the new machine, and if so, which ones do I copy?

Renault HessYou can.. but you don't want to as it can cause more issues that take more time to resolve than it saves... and in the end you will probably have to download and install all the content anyhow.. so do it the correct way in the first place and save yourself a bunch of possible trouble and time trying to fix it later....

I need a data transfer from a 2005 Macbook to my new one (2010). I damaged the old laptop and although it wouldn't turn on, when I brought it to the Apple Store they ascertained that the hard drive was still intact. They said I needed to purchase a one to one membership to get a data transfer, which I did, but somehow forgot about it and now it's expired. Is there any way I can still get the data from the old hard drive transferred to my new macbook? Can Apple provide this service even though my one to one membership has expired?
Go to OWC where you can purchase a suitable enclosure for the drive. You will need an enclosure for a SATA notebook drive. This is assuming the old computer is a MacBook and not an iBook. I make this observation because the first MacBook was released in 2006, not in 2005. If yours is a 2005 model then it's an iBook and uses an ATA interface.
Install the old drive in the enclosure, connect to your new computer. You can then transfer your data. -
Need help transitioning iTunes use from old to new PC
I recently bought a new PC, installed iTunes and copied over my library (music, apps, etc). I am able to play music on the new PC, but when I connect my iPod touch I'm not able to manage the apps. What do I need to do to use my iPod touch on the new PC?
It shouldn't matter. If you copied the iTunes library from the old PC to the new PC, it should have kept everything.
However, even if you lose some apps, you can always download them again for free because you already paid for them. It will say "You already downloaded this item. To downoad it again for free, select OK" when you do that on the actual iPod itself. -
Do I need to reinstall software prior to restoring data from time machine?
I only have working files backed up via time machine. Do I need to reinstall all software PRIOR to restoring from my time machine backup?
I may have misunderstood your question. But, if you have an application such as Photoshop or Word, (from what you say neither of which are backed up by TM) and their files are backed up (ie., Photoshop image files and Word text files), I see no reason why you cannot restore individual Photoshop and Word files. I have done that by choosing "Enter Time Machine", navigating back in time to the desired file and pressing the big "Restore" button at TM's window, bottom right. I have never needed to restore the parent applications.

How do I get messages to go back to an AIM account? It's only seeing the iPad's Facetime email address and not seeing the old AIM account name that is on my desktop. I am using my iMac using iChat to talk to a newer iMac that doesn't have iChat. We had this working using Messages and Facetime (on the new machine) talking to my existing iChat account. One day last week, when Facetime rang, my kids answered on the iPad. Dang! Now it's all fouled up! The new iMac won't see my AIM account name and shows that I'm offline, because the iPad is off. We were able to call using "most recent call" in Facetime, but now I can't go and control that new iMac remotely to help with some email concerns the user is having. I'm trying to not personalize this too much, but it's grandkids talking to Grandma and Mom and Dad trying to solve new machine hiccups. Normally, I could just go in via iChat and control the other machine and troubleshoot, but I can't do it with Facetime only. My buddy list doesn't see the other computer even though we are connected on Facetime right now. My name is not highlighted for the other computer. What could have gone so wrong?

I have an iMac with Microsoft Office (and several other licenced softs) and an HD - Time Machine that backup all the stuff. I'm buying a MacBook Pro and I would to know that if I use the Time Machine to transfer all my stuff, the Microsof Office will work normally or if I need to reinstall it with another licence?
You do not need a new license. The license file will be found in /Library/Preferences/ and is named, com.microsoft.office.licensing.plist. Be sure it gets transferred and you will be fine. I see no reason why the file would not be in your Time Machine backup nor any reason why it would be restored.

I have Last Pass on IE. But how do I transfer it to Firefox? Or do I need to reinstall it for Firefox? It has all of my passwords on it.

I have a mac book pro with Boot Camp that also runs windows. I upgraded to Lion and now the mac side crashes/freezes periodically, especially iphoto. I am told by the genius' that I probably need to "clean" it and reinstall lion using the "recovery drive" which resets everything back to default and reinstalls the lion operating system. My question is will this also delete the "windows" partition drive and all that data too. If so that will be a huge pain in the ___ to back up and reinstall boot camp and windows. I want to shoot the lion.
There is no system like Acronis for the Mac platform. You can try using the buiilt in Disk Utility to create an Image of the complete Mac drive but I have found that this does not work very well as on tryiing to restore it gives errors sometimes.
You can use SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner to create a bootable Clone of your system partition. But that is only for the System partition and not the complete drive.
If you use Boot Camp to install Windows on your Mac neither of those two programs will clone the Windows side.
Neither will Disk utility as Mac's can not create or write to a NTFS partition. So some other program is need for that. -

You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and Mac OS X."
I've run the software update several times. Pages is located in my iWork '09 folder in Applications. Using OS X 10.6.8Delete and reinstall it.

Do I need to reinstall FCS 2 to use ProRes on Lion?
I just moved to Lion on my Mac Pro. I'm mostly working in Adobe After Effects and Premiere now, but I still would like to use the ProRes codecs.
I still have FCS 2, which I understand I can install on Lion with a little bit of trickery. I don't know if FCS is totally stable on Lion, and the thing is I may not even need FCS at all… but I'd love to keep ProRes. Is there a way I can continue to encode using ProRes without needing to reinstall FCS 2 via Rosetta?

ClintI figured it out. I can simply copy the ProRes codec from the Quicktime folder on my Snow Leopard drive to the corresponding folder on my Lion Drive. (I clean installed Lion on my second drive, so I still have my bootable Snow Leopard drive available for things like this)
Now I can encode using ProRes with my Adobe apps without installing or reinstalling my Mac Pro Apps.
