Need to remove skins.

I got something about getting skins for firefox after I installed 4.0. I selected one, but it is useless, it does not fit the browser window. I want to just get rid of the whole skin thing. NO, I DO NOT MEAN PERSONAS, I mean a skin that fills in the whole start page. I cannot find anything in add ons or extensions. How do I get rid of this app?

Hi,
No they're not, not really. Personas are on the top and bottom of the browser, and are there no matter where you go on thw web. As I believe I said, this thing is the whole page. It doesn't mess with the Persona at all. And in telling someone else that it "covers the whole start page", I realized that as soon as I browsed to any place, it was gone, replaced by whatever I had gone to, and what must have happened, and why I couldn't find anything in extensions or anywhere else was that what must have happened was that when chose the skin my "home" page was changed, the existing link replaced by one to the particular graphic that I'd chosen. So I went to what used to be my home page (Google), made it the home page again, and that stupid skin was permanently gone. I don't know why the heck I didn't figure it out a lot sooner.

  • I will give my laptop to someone else, how do I unlink my apple id? Do I need to remove the apps I downloaded with my id?

I will give my laptop to someone else, how do I unlink my apple id? Is it just the app store unlink? Do I need to remove the apps I downloaded with my id? Will they get removed when I unlink my apple id?
Are there any other procedures I need to take into account?
    Thanks

You need to remove all software that you acquired from the Mac App Store, including newer versions of OS X. These are all registered to you and encoded with your Apple ID in the licensed copy. You cannot legally pass any of the software to the new owner, which is why Apple states to erase the Mac and return it to the version of OS X that shipped from the factory on the Mac. You must also remove any older Apple software that you installed by DVD or pass the DVD to the new owner with the Mac.

  • Need to REMOVE Apple ID account from previously owned iMac

I recently purchased a previously owned iMac and need to REMOVE its previous Apple ID account to remove apps that they obviously purchased. Can this be done? I am being prompted to update these apps and when I try, I am asked to enter this OLD account. I actually want to REMOVE these apps for I have zero interest in them. The system was supposedly wiped of all previous info from previous owner but I guess they over-looked the apps.
Can someone advise and give me a step by step break down on how to do this? Remember, I have my own Apple ID but the apps were downloaded from a previous Apple ID account that is NOT mine but was on this system.
    Thanks

    And thanks to you, HW.
I see you got one quick answer.  But you need more.
Leave it until your post sinks near the bottom of the list then revive it by writing to your own post ... say, 'can anyone add to these answers?'   It's Sunday morning!

After drive failure, I decided to install photoshopcc on my home pc.
when I try to start it, I get the message "already installed on 2 devices"

It's not obvious how to do this.

On one of your older PCs, Start Photoshop, go to the  Help menu > Deactivate...

  • Removed authorization on old computer, but iTunes still tells me I have 5 authorizations in iTunes on other computers, and I need to remove one before I can auth. my new mac! arrrgh!!

I'm trying to authorize my new mac in iTunes, but it keeps telling me i need to remove one authorization from another computer.
I removed the authorization from my old laptop - but it STILL tells me i need to remove one authorization before my new mac can be authorized!! I even removed iTunes on the old computer, but it still doesn't work! What do I do?? I want the music from my iMac to be on my MacBook as well!

Once a year, you can also perform a step called "deauthorize all computers associated with your Apple ID".  It will clear all 5 authorizations so you can reauthorize the one you want.

I need to remove one purchased app from my iCloud and ipad. Needs  solution
    immediately.

You cannot delete past purchases from your iTunes account. You should delete it from your iPad and then use Restrictions to stop kids from downloading without the pass code. See http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4213

  • I have two iPhones on my apple account and need to remove one how do I do this? Thanks

I have two iPhones on my apple account and need to remove one how do I do this? Thanks

If you are using two iPhones on the same Apple Account by using the same Apple ID you can remove one by following the following:
Choose Settings > Store and tap Sign out
The apps and such should remain. If you want to clear all of that you can do the following:
The Erase all Content and Settings feature under Settings/General/Reset will remove your content and settings.

Are you sharing the same iCloud account as your daughter?  If so, that would explain why your contacts are merged.  To fix this, you would need to migrate her device(s) to her own iCloud account.  After doing so, you could then delete her contacts from your Mac without effecting the contacts on her device(s).
As far as messages, do you have your own iPhone?

The first time I synced my iphone 4 with my mac, I didn't realize that all of my photos from the iphoto library would transfer over to the phone (more than 3,000).   Now, I need to remove some, as they are taking up too much space.  I cannot figure out how to remove them from the phone.  I tried to uncheck boxes and sync again, but I get a message that there is no room on the iphone.  I've read as many articles as I can find, but still cannot manage this.  Thanks for any help.

Open itunes, connect iphone, select what you want, sync

After installing the 64 bit version of itunes my iphone still won't sync. I get the explantation that I mobile driver application did not download and i need to remove and reinstall itunes (which I have done numberous times).  Any help?

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, does your device connect without that message now?

  • I have iWork 09 with a family license. I am unable to install the software on my new Macbook Pro (the message is simply "Installation failed"). I wonder if I need to remove an old computer from the family license, and if so, how?

I have iWork 09 with a family license. I am unable to install the software on my new Macbook Pro (the message is simply "Installation failed"). I wonder if I need to remove an old computer from the family license, and if so, how?

Yes, gladly. I am trying to install on a 13" MacBook Pro with OS X 10.8.3. I insert the disk into the SuperDrive. The I work '09 window pops up with two icons: one Tim install and one that says "Read before you install iWork." I double-click on the "Install iWork '09" icon, and a window appears that says, "This package will run a program to determine if the software can be installed." I click "continue" and see "Welcome to the iWork '09 installer." I click on "Continue." The "read me" bullet on the left lights up, and I see "Read before you install. . . ." I click "Continue," then see the software license agreement. When I click on "Continue" again, I am asked to agree, and I do. The window then says, "Standard Install on 'Mackintosh HD" and indicates how much space the program will take.
I click "Install," enter my password, and the installation begins. It goes through a validating phase and begins "writing files." It indicates that installation will take about 30 minutes (although that number fluctuates). After about four minutes it goes to "cleaning up." Then after just a few seconds, the "Summary" bullet on the left lights up and this message appears: "There were errors with the installation. You may want to try installing again." There is a large yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it, and a bold "The installation failed." Below that appears "The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."
At that point, a "Close" button is pulsating blue at the bottom of the window.
Sorry for the tedious detail. Anything revealing there?
    Thanks!
