Need to reset a new email setting for my Desktop Mac OSX 10.8.6

I have had my OSX 10.8.6 for some time and could not remember my email password and ultimately deleted the account. I now need to start over with creating a new email account, but am having trouble. It is not working and saying the server is "off-line." Can anyone help? As of now I cannot get mail using the mail account provided with Mac computer.

There are two separate things you can do.
You can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.) (New aliases can only be @icloud.com ones; @me.com addresses cannot now be created.)
You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account or move it to another account, and if it has @mac.com or @me.com versions these cannot be reinstated once deleted.

Or if you want a completely separate account you will have to create a new iCloud account and sign into it in System Preferences>Mail, Contacts and Calendars. Note that any one device can create only three iCloud accounts.

The process of creating an Apple ID will create an @iCloud address for your wife, she does not need to use this for email if she doesn't want to.

Old podcast rss feed no longer exists, do I need to creat a new podcast show for new rss feed?

I have an established podcast (Tommy Unit Live) but the RSS feed is no longer valid. Do I need to request a new show (set up a new show) to update with the currect RSS feed?

Do you mean that the old feed no longer exists and you don't have access to the server to replace it? In that case your best hope is to email Support at podcasts 'at' apple.com and ask them to transfer the iTunes Store's attention to the new feed: give them the ID number or the URL of the Store page, and the URL of the new feed - check this beforehand by subscribing manually in iTunes (from the 'Advanced' menu) so that you are sure you are dealing with a working feed.
They've just done this for someone else so hopefully they will do it for you: the alternative is to start again from scratch and submit the new feed as a completely new podcast (you would need to change the title slightly or you will be told it has already been submitted).

How does one manage these new render setting for previews?

I placed 4 HD clips from a nested into a sequence 5800 x 768 to mimic 4 side by side monitors for a multi channel video. Each clip cut from the sequence are at 1280x720 all sitting side by side. However when I rendered the previews, they came look all squished. However when I exported the frame it looks fine in Photoshop. (I changed the uploaded image to what it looks like in Premiere in Photoshop to demonstrate the appearance in Premiere.)
I imagine that the distortion has to do with the sequence render setting which for some reason comes out to 1918 x 253...or the pixel aspect ratio? How does one manage these new render setting for previews so it looks normal in the monitor?


Either way, I thought that this format would be a great way to view on the monitor 4 channels at the same time. I may need to place them on a “normal” 1440 x 1080 sequence in a line, bringing them down to 25% scale to make it work in the end. I did just try that. I think it will work...but when I imported and nested the old file, the scratch disks changed from the original set up on a D drive back to the main hard drive so I had to change it agin. Otherwise it works fine...so I’ll go with this for now

I have the latest iPod touch. When I try to create an account on FaceTime or iMessage I get a message saying that they can't verify my email address because it is already in use. What does that mean? Everytime I attempt to use my Apple ID associated with iTunes with iMessage, iCloud, or Facetime, it tells me: 'Unable to verify email because it is already in use'. I've been playing around with it and find when I enter another email address other then the one associated with my iTunes account, it'll work. Consider yourself lucky that your MacBook is still working. Now, turn it off. Wine may have damaged other parts of your computer.
Then, take the MacBook to an Apple Store or reseller. It will be a very expensive repair, as it's not covered by warranty and the logic board has to be replaced. In some cases, it may be better to get a new MacBook.

You'll have to get a new one from your carrier. I believe the shipping instructions for mail in service explicitly tell you to take it out as you will most likely not receive the same phone back. Apple doesn't repair most phones, they replace them.

Fellow user Grant Bennet-Alder offers this solution:
Some users have reported this problem if the Mail Application has been moved out of the top-level /Applications folder, or duplicated in another location.
When the Security Update is done, the old version of Mail is disabled.
The solution has been to:
1) make certain Mail is in the /Applications folder
2) There is no other copy anywhere else.
3) Once steps 1 and 2 have been done, Manually download and re-apply the Security Update (2012-004) by hand.

If the Mail.app has been LOST, it can be re-installed by applying the 10.6.8 version 1.1 combo update. But this update is quite large and it is usually not necessary:

I just received an alert that there is a new email address for my FaceTime, and its not mine.

I opened my computer this morning and I found a popup that there was a new email address for my facetime. I opened facetime and the only address there was [email protected] Does anyone have any help for this? Was I hacked? Are my computer and passwords vulnerable? My iphone 5 and iPad (3rd Gen) seem unaffected.
