Need to restore the MAC osx & delete the windows os.
I need an advice, My friend have a MacBook pro 2007 model, he deleted the MAC OS and installed windows xp on it (I know !!!) so now he want to reinstall the mac os and delete the windos completely . Please explain all the methods to do that?
1. Insert the Mac OS X DVD that came with the MacBook, and hold the C key while your Mac is starting up.
2. Choose your language, and go to Utilities menu (on the menu bar) > Disk Utility.
3. Select the hard drive at the top of the sidebar, go to Erase tab and erase the drive. Remember to select "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" as Format.
4. Close Disk Utility and reinstall Mac OS X

Can I restore the Windows side of my partition to factory settings without affecting the Mac side?
I want to restore the Windows 8 side of my partition to factory settings, but I don't want the mac side to be affected. Is there any way to do that?

You provided no information about your computer, your operating system, network, errors, or Windows version. But I'll take some guesses.
What did you try? What happens when you try? Any error messages? Did you download and install the Windows Support Software, or install it from your Snow Leopard Install Disk if you are using Snow Leopard? Did you look in the Windows Help menu to see how to set up wifi in Windows? -

Have you looked in the c:\system recovery files folder that should have been created when the restore process was created?
When the backup process was started, it should have given an estimated amount of space it would need and how many disks would be needed. Do you recall what it said it would need?
Unfortunately, the backup through the Recovery Manager that is performed is typically a one shot deal. If it fails, then it moves on to the recovery in most cases without giving an opportunity to get a backup going again. This is not always the case, but it is in most cases.
Do you recall any error messages during the backup process? If the restore is asking for a disk 2, then it expected to have more than one disk when the backup was made. Unfortunately, there is not much that can be done in that case. Sorry.
I highly recommend using a cloud based backup as this is generally independent of any physical media in your location. There are some free options out there, but they are limited in space.

I believe it is asking for the passcode you use for the screen lock on the phone.

Connect the iOS device to your computer and restore via iTunes. Place the iPod in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

RaphWell, this is one of those situationewhere deleting the preference file would actually be useful, because that is one of the things stored there - but you alreday did that...
Are you still on 10.6? Your profile says so.. although it has to be 10.6.8 then.. as FCPX does not run on previous versions.
Do you by any chance have a Window Manager or extension installed??
