  • Reinstall Photoshop Elements 6 after Hard Disk upgrade on MacBook

    Hi
I am trying to reinstall Photoshop elements after upgrading HD on macbook 2.1 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. OS 10.5.8, 2.5 Gb Ram using SuperDuper 2.1. Tried running the transferred copy of P.E.6 --> hangs while trying to initialize menus
After searching forums for suggestions I have tried the following
1 use adobe installer to uninstall old copy of P.E.6
    2 removed /library/Application Support/Adobe~
    3. Use Apple Disk Utilities to repair permissions
Reinstalled new copy of P.E.6 (downloaded from Adobe.Com)
On starting P.E.6 - goes thru first set of initialization OK
then hangs while trying to initialize menus (spinning beachball)
Also installed on a Power Mac Dual 2GHz PowerPC G5 (P.E.6 has not been installed before)
    - P.E.6 works on this machine
    any help greatly appreciated

    Created a new user (admin)
    uninstall and re-install PE6
    still no go
does it check the serial number as I have another copy(using same serial number) running on PowerMac G5 (as a test) on the same network?

  • Reinstall Elements 8 after Hard drive crash

I need to see how to reinstall Elements after my hard drive was replaced. My version of Elements was a download from Adobe.
    Thank you

Did you make the backup of downloaded software?  Generally people tend to make backups of all software they buy digitally including a record of the necessary serial number for events like you are describing.
If you try to login to your account at Adobe then you might find a link and the serial number otherwise try thios link:
    <http://prodesigntools.com/direct-download-links-for-lightroom-3-and-photoshop-elements-8.h tml>
You will need serial number to activate this product otherwise it would be a complete waste of time downloading such a big file again.
    Good luck.

  • How can I run a copy of photoshop elements from a hard drive from a broken laptop on my new imac

The laptop had motherboard issues so have taken the hard drive out and am running it externally on a new iMac - if i try to run the program it says error code 6 and that i need to uninstall then reinstall the product but I bought it online so don't have a disc

Install a downloaded version... you should be able to find it among the following links:
    PSE 10, 11 - http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/photoshop-elements-10-11-downloads.html
    PSE 7, 8, 9 - http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/photoshop-elements-7-8-9-downloads.html
Check your Adobe account online for the serial number if you have not saved it anywhere locally.

  • Can I install Snow Leopard over Lion to install old software after hard drive crashed?

My hard drive crashed and I lost everything.  I have a new hard drive, but when the repair shop installed my operating system, they installed Lion and I no longer have my prior updates.  My computer had been updated a few times.  I have a lot of software that only can be installed up to 10.7 such as Adobe Photoshop Elements 10, Office Mac 2011, etc.  I was wondering if I installed Snow Leopard over Lion, would I lose Lion?  Should I install Snow Leopard and then Lion again?  I don't want to damage my like new computer and I don't want to have to go out and buy all new software.  Is there a solution?  Thanks in advance!

Sounds complicated!  If I repartition the drive and install Snow Leopard onto the blank volume, will Lion still be there?  Or, will the computer basically have two operating systems that I have to go back and forth from.  Is this something a novice like myself can do?

  • Photoshop elements on external hard drive

Can I install my adobe photoshop elements on an external h ard drive?  As my pictures are starting to take up a lot of my laptop hard drive.  i would like to buy a new external hard drive and keep the software and pictures all on that hard drive.

I don't see how you could install the software in a external disk, but what takes a lot of space is your pictures.
You can set PSE to download and store pictures on an external disk.
If you are using the organizer, you can also store catalogs on the external disk : the performance is slower, but you can share between two computers having the same version of PSE.

  • Need to retrieve data from IBM Travelstar Hard drive from G3 Powerbook

The only problem is the G3 I had is broken, i now have a Macbook Pro Intel and need to retrieve the data from the old Hard drive.
I have removed the drive from the G3 but is it possible to connect it to my Macbook pro?
I'm considering buying an old G3 and fitting it to that then using target mode to retrieve the files.
Mac Book Pro 17" Intel   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

The most cost-effective solutions may be one of the external drive adapters such as the one from Newer Tech.
I'm considering buying an old G3 and fitting it to that then using target mode
Just FYI, G3s do not support target disk mode. You'd have to have an AGP G4 or later.

  • Can neither reload or erase Photoshop Elements 6 from hard drive

My hard drive became corrupted.   I had a company install a new hard drive and transfer information from the old drive to the new one.  Everything works on it except Adope Photoshop elements 6.   I can neither down load from the disk, nor will it allow me to remove/erase the program.  I get the same error message
Error 1324  the path program file contains an invalid character.

Show that error to the company that performed the transfer.

  • Reinstall photoshop elements on new hard drive

I recently had to replace the hard drive on my computer.  I am trying to reinstall photoshop premiere elements 8 on it.  I am being told that I have it activated on 2 computers and that I have to deactivate it from one.  However, given that the hard drive has been replace on this computer I cannot deactivate it.  How can I now active it on this computer?

  • Can't reinstall software after hard drive change

My old hard drive failed on me last week, so I had to buy a new one. I want to reinstall my adobe suite CS5.5, but the computer just spits the disk out after a few minuets. What am I doing wrong?
I have a mac book pro, mid 2009, with Snow leopard OSX 10.6.8

You can bypass the discs and download the trial version from the page linked below.  Then use your serial number to activate the software to full use.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site or else the download will not work properly.
    CS5.5: http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs5-5-direct-download-links.html
If this works, then there may be a problem with the setup of your disc drive.

  • How do I reinstall Elements 8 after Hard Drive Crash

C Drive irreparably crashed.  The PSE8 catalog folder was in C:\Documents and Settings\All users\Adobe, etc. and was backed up on a different drive (Yay Me!).  The Pictures were in E:\ Elements Pictures\ (117 GB). When Windows was reinstalled, the Drive Letters were changed by the reinstall program, such that the Windows boot drive is now the E drive and the Pictures are on the D: drive, but still in their original folder.  (Ultimately, the plan to get a new Drive, rename it C, and reinstall Windows on it.)
It appears that I cannot use "Backup and Restore" as is the common response to "How do I move Elements and Pictures to a new Computer?"
I can reinstall PSE8 on my E (boot) drive, then replace the new catalog folder with the old one which has my data.  How do I then get that catalog to look to the Pictures on the drive which has a new letter (D)?  I cannot reinstate the old drive letter, as that letter is now in use as the boot drive letter.
Am I better off just waiting for the new C drive, reinstalling Windows there, replacing the catalog folder, and relettering the Pictures drive to its old Letter?  It may be awhile before I get the new C drive as I am waiting for Seagate to replace under warranty the dead drive, and would like to if at all possible continue to use PSE8 in the interim.
Many Thanks in advance for your advice.

  • Question about activation key for pre-installed software after hard drive failure.

I had a hard drive failure on my MacBook Pro last week and had it replaced by Apple.  When I restored my computer with a Time Machine backup, Office 2011 wants an activation key to start up again.  Problem is, I had Office pre-installed when I bought my MacBook by Apple.  Where do I get the activation key to get it working again?
    Thanks
    Q

Do you still have the signons.sqlite and key3.db files from the IT setup?
You can find the sync account password and the sync (recovery) key in the password manager on computers where a sync account with a specific e-mail address has been set up.
    Look for:
    * chrome://weave (Mozilla Services Password)
    * chrome://weave (Mozilla Services Encryption Passphrase)

  • Restore after hard drive erase

I have a G5 running Leopard and have just begun using Time Machine. My one internal hard drive has two partitions (a 120GB & a 35GB), both of which are backed up using TM. I need to reformat the hard drive to have one larger partition, so will be wiping everything out. My hope is to restore it with TM, minus the stuff that was on the smaller partition (I'll manually copy that to an external). Will TM run into problems when it tries to restore everything and finds a partition missing? Will it restore only the partition it finds (which will have the same name but larger capacity), and ignore the smaller partition, or will it give me an error and fail to do anything?

Time Machine should be backing up your two partitions to two separate folders. To restore you need to boot from the Leopard install DVD. Pick a language and choose Restore from backups in the Utilities menu. The installer will give you a choice to choose what partition you want to restore to as well as what specific Time Machine backup you wish to restore from as a part of the process. Pick the most recent backup from the partition you wish to restore. The installer won't care that the partition it is restoring to is larger than the partition Time Machine was backing up.
