Need to run 2 diffrent payrolls at a time

We have an interesting scenario in which we need to run 2 different payrolls at a time, As this project is  for an Government organization we were till now running only one payroll which was 4th pay commission, but now the client wants the payroll  as per the 5th pay commission, but still we will need to run the 4 and 5 pay commission together as some of the employees have not accepted the 5th pay commission, so the clients wants the 5th pay to be run for all the employees who have accepted it, and wants to run the  4th pay commission for those  employees who have not accepted the same.
Now we have decided to do the same through ABAP development as we did the same  for the 4th pay commission before , we created one ZTABLE and one background  Z program to support this table, now in this same  program we are planning to do the 5th pay enhancement by using the same wage types (we will just need to create 1 more wage type for 5th Pay) , in short we will be using this same wage types for both 4th and 5th pay but this wage types calculation will be different for 4 and 5th pay which will be done through this table and the background program supporting this table, I would like to know that what precautions should be taken to do this, is this going to affect any other sub modules of HCM, and where all the effects will be there.

This you can do via off cycle payroll and you have to change the payroll areas to a new one so that for the employees who have accepted can be shifted to new payroll area and thaey can be paid differential amt via offcycle payroll

    This question hasn't been answered because it would be better asked in the enterprise deployment forum. The Wiz is an ent deployment tool and only is used for initial deployments in most cases. You use it to customize the installer and the product when it's first installed. You could use it for any install, but that is a less common scenario.
    Usually, you customize the first version you install and then just apply updates as they are released.

    We appear to need to run wb_workspace_management.set_workspace procedure each time in a new session before running OWB Mappings.
    The above procedure is run with values REP_ADMIN/REP_ADMIN and then we are able to successfully run the mappings. However, on opening a new session, if this procedure is not run, the execution of mappings fails. However the values REP_ADMIN/REP_ADMIN are already present in the view all_iv_workspaces in owbsys schema.
    Should this procedure be run as the first thing before starting execution of the mappings or is there some other issue?
    If the stored procedure is not run this message is displayed.
    ORA-20013: The workspace has not been set. Please call wb_workspace_management.set_workspace procedure to set workspace first.

    It is OWB requirements starting from 11g R1 OWB release and there are no any workarounds.
    But maybe you can include call to set_workspace in OnLogon database trigger (I don't done it and cannot confirm that this works) if you want to avoid manual execution of set_workspace ...

    Depending on the specific features that you think you need in a Virtual Machine, you should research the paid "Parallels" and "VMWare Fusion", and the free yet very capable "VirtualBox".  I personally use VirtualBox because it does NOT include all of the Mac-to-VM interactivity features that the others do.  For performance and security reasons, I specifically do not want my VM to be able to interact with my Mac OS host in any way other than copy and paste.
    On your Windows VM, if you are running windows 8.1, and are not logged in as an administrator as your primary account, then the built in Windows Defender is a perfectly suitable for anti-malware protection.  If you are running Windows 7 (or 8.1) and want additional protection I would recommend "BitDefender Free" as it has great protection yet has a very light-weight performance hit.

    Hi,
    When you are loading from source system i.e. datasource to target, you will always have to use an infopackage to load to PSA and a subsequent DTP.
    When loading for instance from DS to Cube, you only need to schedule a DTP.

    LaCie doesnt make ANYTHING.  It contains a Seagate 3.5" 5400RPM HD.
    Check the HD on another computer, if nothing, your SATA bridge is fried, or the HD (very unlikely since its a Seagate inside)
    Youd have to crack open the HD, remove the SATA bridge cart thats plugged into the HD and put the HD into an enclosure or a HD dock to get the data
    those external HD use a 50 cent SATA bridge famous for failing.  The curse of all the good HD externals is the junk 3rd party SATA bridges attached to them that crash and burn.

    Per my understanding you can. It is equivalent to running 2 IGP and installing the entry in RIB table based on administrative distance.

  • Does the WD SmartWare needs to run all the time?

    Hi. I use WD SmartWare (not Pro, just the free version) to do my backups to WD My Cloud. I also use WD Quick View, which is running at all times. WD SmartWare is set up to continuous back up (i.e. monitoring my drives and copying files over when new files are added etc.).  Does it have to be running all the time for that or maybe WD Quick View controls the backups somehow? If SmartWare needs to run at all times, is there any way of minimizing it to system tray rather than to the taskbar? It's really annoying that the icon just sits there... I like my taskbar to be tidy! Thanks

    Smartware will run continuously in the background as a service, but no the app GUI itself doesn't need to be open all the time. Once installed it will set itself up to do that, so you only need to open the actual app GUI if you want to start/edit./stop the configuration for the backup itself. Your taskbar can be nice and tidy

    See if your customer can open a support call on a Time-and-Materials basis.
    (Have them be seated when they're quoted the T&M fees.)
    That will get a Service Engineer to the customer's site with the password to fix the system.
    That SE will input it to the chassis and the system will get repaired.
    Also request that the SR be dispatched and escalated through the customer's local District Service Manager with a request to waive the T&M charges. The DSM has the responsibility to maintain company Good Will and to maintain company profitability in the local district.
    The worst that can happen is that the customer gets the service on a pay-as-you-go basis.
    They could also get the charges waived if they put the system under contract.
    They could also just get the charges waived.
    It will all depend on what sort of relationship they have with the DSM.

    I need to run a map against table on a particular dataset (WHERE clause) - how can i do it in OWB?
    The map is loading data from table A into table B (doing all sorts of wierd and wonderful things in between). Now table A had more (a lot more) data added which i have to load into table B.
    How can i modify my map so that it only runs agains this newly added data (normally i would do a where clause).
    i cannot find how to do it in OWB :(
    The map i am runnig is fairy complex so i didn't really want have to create another table/view of the data i need then remap in all etc.
    Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Well that is the thing - records are constantly added to table A all the time and then undergo tramsformations and loaded into table B. What i want to do is somehow indicate in the the map to only run agains records that have beed added (colmn2 = 'value').
    At the moment i created a view for the desired dataset (colm2 = 'value') and remapped everything. But it is a bit of a pain:
    1) there are a lot of functions and each takes a number of columns (i have some functions taking up to 6 diff columns)
    2) i have data loaded to table A all the time and i need to then transform and load it to table B. so i try to aviod doing the whole re-mapping thing all the time.
    In TOAD it would be a simple statment 'where colm2 = 'value' and all my functions will be run agains those records that satisfy the condition. How can i do it in OWB?
    If i use filter - i would have to use 'mid' table where filtered records will be loaded and from that use 'mid' table as table A in the map. does this make sense?
    the main disadvantage is the performance - moving data from one table to 'mid' table etc.
    I tried using conditional load filter and it still doesn't do what i want.
    After trying diff options i decided to ask people here about it. The only thing i have left to try is to ask Oracle support. I am sure it would be a 'user knowledge' as i am sure this functionality exist i just can't find any references to it.

  • BPC 10.0 NW - How do I make Business Rules run one Period at a time

    I was wondering if anyone has a way to make business rules run one period at a time before moving on to the next to the next time period (i.e. January 2014 calc prior to moving on to February 2014).  In past SQL this could be achieved with a piece of script *CALC_EACH_PERIOD.  Is there anything like this that can be applied in the NW platform for Business Rules?  I have some logic that I want to run through a package on multiple periods at once.  Part of this logic contains a Business Rule that uses a value from the preceding period.  the Business rule appears to be calculating all time periods selected in the package at once so it is missing the piece that is supposed to come from the prior month unless the package is run one period at a time.  I need the logic to run sequentially by time period (oldest first) when more than one time period is selected.

    Hi Ravi,
    The time a report runs is estimated based on the last time it was run. So you need to run the report once before you can see how long it will take. Also it depends on several factors... the database server could cache some queries so running it a second time immediately after the first time could be quicker. And there is the chance of changing filters to bring back different sets of data.
    You could also schedule a report and then check the scheduled instance's status properties and view how long a report actually ran.
