Need to save certain pages of a 62-page .PDF

I have a long 62-page .PDF which actually is composed of files from several different sources: .DOC .PPT .TXT .XLS etc.
Those original sources are no longer available, but the client needs to recreate the files as handouts.
Can I highlight certain pages from the original 62-page PDF and do a "Save As" using just Reader, or do I need the full Acrobat program... which of course the client does not have?
And end result of several shorter PDFs is fine; do not actually need real .DOC .PPT .TXT .XLS
THANK YOU in advance for any help you can provide.
THIS JUST IN...
http://www.exp-systems.com/ is the solution! And it's f-r-e-e.

I suppose you COULD use the Snapshot tool to copy/paste the pages in to a different application but, the quality may not be quite as good and of course there's the possibility that there is security on the document preventing copying content (you'd have to check that).

  • How do I edit a 100 page pdf document without converting to Word. I do not want to edit content. Simply want to save certain pages in seperate files...

    I have a large pdf file. I need to break it down into "x" numbers of pages.

    I do not wish to edit the content, simply need certain pages in the pdf saved alone and not in master pdf.

  • Photoshop Elements 11- Create and save multiple page PDF's?  Software bug or new limitation?

    I just upgraded from Photoshop Elements 10 to Photoshop Elements 11.  One of the reasons I stayed with Adobe rather than Corel was the ability to work with multipage PDF's.
    I noticed that I can't add more than one page to a project and save a multiple page PDF.  I can open a multiple page PDF, but not create or save one.
    Is this a new limitation, or just a software bug Adobe plans to fix?
    Has anyone found a way to work with multiple page PDF's in Photoshop Elements 11?

    It's a new limitation in PSE 11, for one of those mysterious adobe reasons.

  • Adobe Illustrator CS5 saves two page PDF

    When I open older version AI file in CS5 and then resave in PDF it creates a multi-page PDF. Why? It seems like it keeps the older version.
    How do discard multipage when saving PDF in Illustrator?

    Are you getting this dialog when you are open your legacy file?
    if yes  then, You are getting a two page PDF because your older file contains either crop areas or page tiles.
    while opening such file make sure you are  checking  only Legacy Artboard.
    please note that you would loose your crop area information from the file in such case.

  • Can't save multi page pdf in preview

    Hi,
    From previous posts, I see that I can drag jpegs to make a multi page document in preview (show sidebar> drag images to it), but when I save, I get only one image. Why can't I save all the images as one document?
    Thanks!
    David

    David, that was helpful. I was having the same issue, searched the forum and found this thread.
    I might add that if you're starting with say 3 separate pdf pages - open the first one and then View/Sidebar/Show Sidebar. Add all your pages and then follow your procedure.

  • How do I save a page in Muse to a subfolder?

    I am redesigning an existing webpage in Muse and want to limit access to certain pages with username/password protection.
    The current site does this by saving these pages in folders and protecting the entire content of such a folder with a username/password combination.
    However, I can't figure out a way in Muse to create folders in which to save certain pages, so I'm not able to replicate this part of the website.
    Is there a way to do this (or achieve the same result in a different way)?
    (I can only find information on how to do this using Adobe Business Catalyst, but my site is being hosted elsewhere. I can also find information on setting up protection using htaccess, but I already have this set up with my host, which is a service I pay for. The problem is that in order to password-protect a folder I need to be able to create it in Muse!)

    Using the Host directory option during Publish/Upload to FTP Host, you publish to a sub-directory.
    There isn't an option to define different sub-directories for different pages to be published through Muse at this time. The only way around it would be to export the site as HTML and manually upload the pages to their respective directories at your web host. You might also want to make sure that the internal linking does not break in doing so.
    Thanks,
    Vinayak

  • Save each page as PDF naming mod

    I had an issue I needed help with a while back, now I need to mod the script.
    Here's the original post
    Peter Kahrel, ""Save each page as PDF" naming mod?" #1, 16 Jan 2008 8:00 am
    I have a 456 page document that was made from a data merge. It has a background image, a foreground image and a job number/description.
    I need to save each page out as a jpg and name the file with the contents of the "jobnumber" text box. Previously Peter Kahrel helped me out tremendously with a little function that looked at the job number (which was always PNXX-xxxx) and swapped it out with the real job number.
    Now the contents of the jobnumber field isn't structured, i.e., "AvocadoSwirl_V", or "BurntSienna_G".
    Is there a way to set a script label for the "jobnumber" text box and just name the output file whatever is in there?
    Here is the existing script:
    var destinationFolder = Folder.selectDialog ("Choose a Folder");
    var myPDFExportPreset = app.pdfExportPresets.item("WebVidOverlay");
    doc = app.activeDocument;
    doc.sections.everyItem().includeSectionPrefix = false;
    app.findTextPreferences = null;
    app.findTextPreferences.findWhat = 'pnxx^9^9^9^9';
    found = doc.findText();
    for (i = 0; i < found.length; i++ )
    f = File (destinationFolder + "/" + found[i].contents + '.pdf');
    app.pdfExportPreferences.pageRange = found[i].parentTextFrames[0].parent.name;
    doc.exportFile (ExportFormat.pdfType, f, false, myPDFExportPreset);
    As always, Thanks a million,
    Randy

    >Does that sound do-able?
    Most things are doable, provided that your information is precise: first you say that pages may or may not have a text frame labelled "jobnumber" and that that frame may or may not have text in it (your post can be read like that anyway). Now you say that every page has a text frame labelled "jobnumber" and that that frame can be filled with either of three text strings. Or maybe all three strings? You say
    >then I should be able save each file with the names "Avocado.jpg", "Burnt Sienna.jpg" and "pnga-0431.jpg" respectively.
    Or do you mean "save each file with the names "Avocado.jpg", "Burnt Sienna.jpg" _OR_ "pnga-0431.jpg" respectively."? The way you phrased it, it looks as if you want to save three files from a page. But your example shows that you meant "or", not "and".
    But anyway, the last two lines of your example appear to make clear what you want. The attached script exports each page of the active document to JPG, using the contents of the text frame labelled "jobnumber" on that page. The script assumes that each page has such a text frame and that there is something in it, and that whatever is in it provides a legal file name. It doesn't do any error checking/catching at all.
    Peter
    app.jpegExportPreferences.resolution = 300;
    app.jpegExportPreferences.jpegExportRange = ExportRangeOrAllPages.exportRange;
    app.activeDocument.sections.everyItem().includeSectionPrefix = false;
    path = app.activeDocument.filePath + '/';
    p = app.activeDocument.pages.everyItem().getElements();
    for (i = 0; i < p.length; i++)
      jpg_name = p[i].textFrames.item ('jobnumber').contents + '.jpg';
      app.jpegExportPreferences.pageString = p[i].name;
      app.activeDocument.exportFile (ExportFormat.jpg, File (path + jpg_name));

  • Batch open Multi page PDF's

    How can I batch/automate open a multi page PDF in CS3?
    I need to open multi page pdf's then rasterize them as individual jpegs, the "save As" from Acrobat or "export" is not good enough quality. They need to go through Photoshop.
    At the end of the day I want to create a droplet so I can drag a load of multi page PDF's onto it and
    let photoshop get on with it, I then come back 15-20 mins later, and hey presto there are all my converted CMYK 300 dpi Jpegs!
    Please help!!
    Thnx
    Simon

    If I recall correctly, Adobe changed the Acrobat JPG output after version 6. If you have Acrobat 6, you might try it.
    However, why do you say '
    CMYK 300 dpi Jpegs'? 'CMYK' implies that printing is your intent. Anti-aliased text is not ideal for printing as it becomes mushy. You might want at least 600 ppi art without anti-aliased text here for crisper text.
    Prematurely rasterizing this instead of sending the original PDF data to the printer seems very odd.

  • Illustrator CS4 on Windows Vista 64--opening multi-page PDF

    I see that Illustrator CS4 will save multi-page PDFs, so I'm wondering what I'm missing that I cannot open all the pages of a multi-page PDF at once?  I'm receiving illustrations from an artist who uses a much older version of Illustrator and he sends them as a multipage PDF.  It would be a huge time saver to be able to open all the pages at once to grab out the art I need, but I can't seem to figure out how to do that.
    I apologize if this has been asked before.  This new forum format doesn't seem to yield itself to easily seeing frequently asked questions.

    But if it exports multi-page PDF, why can't it open it? I wouldn't think that would be a compatibility issue. PDF is not necessarily an AI format after all.
    In my mind, I guess that defeats the purpose of a multi-page (artboard) file, if you can't open a multi-page file--even if the opening requires some kind of conversion. I'd take a multi-page import or a multi-page convert.
    In a google search, I noticed that someone has written an applescript for Mac versions that will import multi-page PDFs to a multiple artboard AI file.  Any chance there is a script available that will work on Windows?  I upgraded my personal (Windows) copy of the suite, but chances are we'll be waiting on CS5 at work (where I have my Mac).

  • Apple Preview, creating multiple page PDFs

    I often need to create multiple page PDF documents by using either existing images or by using a scanner. Is there an easy way to so simply choose multiple files in the finder and right-click "Create PDF from files"?
    We have:
    - Compress 2 items
    - Rename 2 items
    - Burn 2 items to disc
    How about
    Compress items
    2
    Rename items
    2
    Burn items
    2
    Create PDF from items
    2
    I also noticed that the cover page mostly is full size and the sup pages of the created PDF document contains a white border. Is this the printer margin that is automatically assigned to the sub pages?

    Yes, and another automator for opening the sidebar automatically if a PDF contains at least 2 pages.
    THANK YOU ... my Apple computer is not dumb.

  • How can I convert digitally signed PDF's so I can combine them into a single multi-page PDF?

    We are an architectural firm and we receive drawings from consultants as PDF's that are digitally signed.  In order to combine all of our drawings into a single PDF, we currently send the PDF's to a printer, have them printed, and scan them as new PDF's.  This process reduces the clarity of the PDF and re-printing the scanned PDF's reduces the clarity even further.  Is there a way to "flatten" or otherwise convert the digitally signed PDF's so we can combine them into a single multi-page PDF?  Making a portfolio is not an option.  We need an actual multi-page PDF for a variety of reasons.  This problem is actually preventing our office from using digital signatures so any help would be greatly appreciated.

    You can't. There was a discussion on this Forum a few months ago on this subject. Look it up for more info.

    You would need Adobe Acrobat to do that, not Adobe Reader.
