Need to skip the variable selection screen when using dropdown

Hello Friends,
I have created a web template having a dropdown, a table and a text element. Basically I am trying to follow the guide "How to Use a Dropdown Box to Set Variable Values". It shows how to select values for a variable using dropdown.

What is happening is when I select a value for the variable in the dropdown, the correct url is getting formed but instead of displaying the report using the selected value, the variable selection screen appears. Given below is the url that gets formed:

Thanks for your reply. This has partially resovled the issue. I have awarded you points for that. Now I am able to skip the variable screen.
However, the query results are not getting refreshed. I wanted to restirct the values based on the value given in the variable selection (In my case the dropdown box). Somehow I am not able to link the dropdown with the variable or the "SAPBWOpenURL(url);" function is having some issues.

I need to display key and text for a characteristic when selecting the drop down menu in the variable selection screen of a web report. In the Business Explorer tab within the info-object, I changed the General Settings to display Key and text, but when I open the drop down menu for this characteristic, it is still displaying the key only. Is there some other place where this change needs to happen?

I faced a similar issue (for what I understand your request is).
My requirement for the Variable Screen was to do:
1) place a link to a ppt file
2) remove buttons "Save", "Save As...), "Delete"... the standard buttons come when running the Query or WebTempl
We were using a Web Templ for BI7.0
I struggled trying to find out how to do it. My conclusions are:
- WAD, not sure we can accomplish it using a Web Template but i did not "play" a lot with the Web_Template Properties in order to know
- XHTML, I was told in my post HTML modification was the way, but I have close to nil background in HTML and couold not find the way of accessing the Variable Entry screen
For instance, I had to remove similar buttons and change some font size from a link on the Web Template (WAD), which was pretty straight forward. In WAD the buttons come with its own icon and to increase the Font size for that link we used XHTML (<font size="2" >). But the heck of the variable screen...well, i just did not get trhough to it to modify it in any way.

How to run the variable exit without calling the variable selection screen?

Hi all
I have a query with 2 variables 0P_PRQUA (Previous Calendar Quarter (SAP Exit)) and ZCCDAT02.
ZCCDAT02 is a Key Date variable that is derived based on the last day of the quarter that is entered in 0P_PRQUA. The exit code works correctly when calling up the variable screen and ZCCDAT02 is derived properly.
The problem is that 0P_PRQUA is set to "Can be changed in query navigation". So if the user changes the value of the quarter the exit is not triggered and the value of ZCCDAT02 does not change.
Is it possible to trigger the exit or is there another way to do it? Ideas would be appreciated. I am trying to create a Web Template with a Dropbox box for the Quarter.
Query is written in BW 3.X.

Just to restate the requirement. I want the user to be able to change the value of the variable, WITHOUT calling the variable selection screen.
I want the user to be able to change the value of the quarter by using a dropdown box from within the web template. Once that is selected I want the value of ZCCDAT02 to be derived from the new value of the quarter.

Adding a message to the variable selection screen

Hi there
I have been asked to find a way to add a message to the variable selection screen.
It appears that DIVISION needs to be added to the selection screen, as this makes the query run faster. However, they don't actually want the user to enter a division, as this causes other problems.
So, ideally, I would be able to add a message to the variable selection screen that advises users against entering a value for division.
I don't know how to do this.
I create the web template, and I can therefore add messages or anything you like to the template, but I don't believe I have any control over the variable selection screen.
Does anyone know if this is possible?
We are running a 2004s system if that helps.

Well i think if you make the variable used for division not ready for input it would not be available for the users to input anything.
you can find the checkbox for this in the properties of the variable in query designer.

I have my queries in web templates on WAD. I want to attach a description for each report which shows on the top of the selection screen, how can I do it. For example i have a P&L monthly report with the selection screen include a selection for Fiscal Period and GL Account, I want to have the caption :

Interaction in the variable selection screen possible?

I have a query with related 3 variables: a Product Division is related to a Hierarchy-name and to a Hierarchy-node. I want the enduser only to fill in 2 variables in the selection screen: Product Division and Hierarchy-node. Is this possible?
If a enduser is entering a Product Division in the variable selection screen, the Hierarchy-name can be derived in CMOD with step2. But now we want an additional second variable selection screen for filling in the Hierarchy-node, which is related to the derived Hierarchy-name in CMOD.
Can somebody help:

Well, In the exit itself you can try ppopulating the hierarchy node for the second variable too. Think well, it is pretty much possible doing it along with the same code.

Basically its not suggestable by SAP that to modify the variable screen, since that has been directly delivered by SAP Object... If you still wants to modify the variable screen then your F4 will not work ijn the variable screen... Usually dont go and modify your variable screen..

currently iam working with report program,there i need to populate one field in the selection screen based on the another parameter in the same selection screen.
iam having field called work center as a parameter with the search help.
This search help is providing the corresponding plant for the particular work center.
Now what i need to do is,if i select the work center thru F4 help,i need the correseponding plant to get populated in the other textbox.
Currently iam having that work center field as parameter,
now i need another textbox for the plant adjacent to this workcenter textbox,in this textbox only i need that corresponding plant.

if you don't use the NODE or TABLE statement pnp selection screen will not come.
other wise use screen number 900 which have fever fields and you can make the invisible using
loop at screen.

Can I skip selection screen when using PNP & HR Report Cat?

I am using log. database PNP for my report that we are then accessing through ITS - ESS. I do not want the ESS user to see the selection screen (It populates all values in initialization). I have created an HR Report category with nothing selected, but I still get pernr as a selection.
Is there a way to skip the selection screen? (Sorry, this might be very simple and i'm missing something!)

Why does my iDVD project skip the main menu screen when starting?

I just finished a movie in iMovie 09, chose iDVD from the iMovie menu, chose a theme, etc., all was fine, burned the DVD and it works great except it starts the movie instantly rather than showing the opening screen with the main menu.

When you export to iDVD from iMovie 09, iMovie usually creates an iDVD project in which your movie plays automatically before the main menu is shown. As SDUser has said, you can get rid of that behaviour by going into the DVD map and dragging out the very first item.
A hint: if you have chapter markers in your movie, and you are using a theme that has motion menus, open up the Inspector (the little i button bottom left in iDVD) and while you are in the Map view click on each menu. Take a look at the length of the menu loop. There is a bug in iDVD that often causes it to make ridiculously long menu loops (in one case 3 hours, even though the menu music clip was 30 seconds and the whole movie was under an hour). That will cause iDVD to take forever rendering your project, and will waste a lot of DVD space that you are need for your main movie. Just drag the slider back to a sensible menu loop length. But go back and check before you burn; as soon as you edit anything else in the menu (for example change the music background) the loop length will have to be fixed again.

What determines whether an application gets a green check or a yellow warning sign in the deployment summary screen when using an MDT/UDI task sequence?

I am trying to get Office 2010 to install using a UDI task sequence, and it IS installing, but it has a yellow exclamation point next to it at the summary screen after the task sequence completes, as does another app I am trying to install.
The apps that use an .MSI are fine, and get the green check, but the two apps that use .exe for their installers get the yellow warning sign. I assume this has to do with exit codes or detection rules, but I am very new to SCCM (using 2012 and MDT
2012 Update 1), so I need some help.

EDIT: This probably has to do with the fact that SuccessOrFailureCode being blank. I have been pouring over .vbs scripts and logs, but they all seem to indicate that my application installs just fine, with an exit code of 0. Where does this screen
get the SuccessOrFailureCode?

I am trying to install Symantec Endpoint Protection with a custom wrapped .EXE file, and I have created detection rules for the install.
According to AppEnforce.log, SEP is installing and returning an Exit code of '1', and that is being handled with my custom return code handling, which I've defined as a 'success'. However, the deployment summary is still showing a yellow exclamation point
next to the SEP install, and the SuccessOrFailureCode is blank.
Why isn't the SuccessOrFailureCode equal to '1'? Where is the disconnect between the AppEnforce.log and the deployment summary.

How to use Keyfigures in the Bex variable selection screen.

I have a scenario, where the user whats to see the keyfigures like volume, amount in the variable selection screen, so that he can dynamically, set the condition according to his requirement.
For example , he wants to see all the PO's for a particular calmonth which have volume > 1 Million or on someother day, he may input the value as volume > 2Million or Volume < 0 , so it depends. Similarly he wants to dynamically select the Amount values.
I have tried using condition with "greater than"and value as a formula variable and it works for one condition, but if I add another condition i.e, "less than"and value as a formula variable then it conflicts and the query is throughing below error.
"ERROR BRAIN (418): Variable ZCS_VAR_CH_KG_LT (DC015DZ850NUYVFDMPJHRGHXW) does not exist or is incorrectly used 4 Volume"."".
Do we have a option to use customer exit in such a scenario ??, any suggestions please.
