Need to transfer slide show/movie to my iMac

I created a slide show using iPhoto on my Mac Book Pro the slide show was converted into a movie file which I transferred to my iPad Air.  The slide show is now in the movies section of my iPad.  I need to share this slide show with 30 other people, but can't do so from the iPad, that option is not available.  I also cannot transfer the movie to my iMac.   What am I missing?   With that said how can I transfer the movie file/slide show to my iMac so that I can share with others.
If you're thinking why don't I share via the Mac Book pro?  My Mac Book Pro Mavericks partition on a dual boot system crashed.

  • Slide show movie

I am a new Mac user and am trying to find a way to create a slide show movie (similar to windows Move Maker) as a way to share and save my favorite photos on DVD.  I don't see a way to import photos in iMovie although I have no trouble importing movies recorded on my camera.  Am I missing something?  Or can anyone recommend other software that will do this?n  Thanks in advance.

  • Slide Show Movies?

Forgive such a simple question, can you do slide show movies in Final Cut?
My niece is a photographer who would like to present her clients with a slide show movie complete with an original soundtrack. iMovie & iPhoto just don't cut it.
I know it seems ridiculous to look at final cut for slide show movies, just nothing else has yielded the results.
Can one work with .jpeg in Final Cut? I saw no mention of it on the Apple site. Please enlighten me.
We are looking to produce professional quality DVD's. of photo shoots with the ability to edit photos & music simultaneously in the timeline.
    TY

Sure you can. I have a client who hires me a couple of times a year to do one for her.
Yes you can use JPEG. Some things to remember. Know your settings. A 4x3 screen size will translate into a 720x480pixels graphic at 72 dpi. Now, most digital photos are larger than that and Final Cut will translate those to screen size when you import. However, if you are scanning snapshots that's a handy thing to keep in mind.
Animated backgrounds work great under photos that are vertical. Otherwise they will appear over black which is okay but boring.
If you produce/scan your photos and save as a photoshop file you will be able to manipulate individual layers.
To save time, I lay my music on the time line then I highlight all of the photos I want and drag and drop then using "overwrite-with-transition." This will give you a dissolve between each photo. You can change duration of the photos from there to match to you song. Of course if you don't want dissolves just edit them one all at once or one at a time.
    Good luck...anything else.

  • How to get iPhoto slide show .mov to YouTube?

I've created a slide show in iPhoto which I want to upload to YouTube.
It is created as a movie, .mov 45 mb
I thought I could load it directly to YouTube, but apparently I have to convert it. Can someone tell me how to do the conversion?
YouTube says the preferred formats for video are H.264, MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 preferred.
    Thanks for your assistance,
    Jeanie

    Thanks, Larry,
I've downloaded this software -- great tool.
However, I still am unable to upload to YouTube. I exported the mov to create an MPEG-4. It plays perfectly on my computer, but I still get an error message when trying to upload to YouTube.
There is another weird thing that has been happening, which might be the problem or a clue to the problem.
In iPhoto, my first slide is a title screen. However, I noticed that after I uploaded the mov to Audio Acrobat, a black slide precedes the Title slide. I thought maybe something happened at Audio Acrobat (haven't taken the time to call them). I have this video playing at one of my web sites, and there is a black slide at the beginning.
OK, so back to this .... the same thing happens when I open the iPhoto file in MPEG Streamclip. It starts with a black slide rather than the title slide.
To test to see if a black slide got added in iPhoto, I use the back arrow with the title screen visible and the last slide shows. In other words, iPhoto is not showing a black slide.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Jeanie

  • What Software/Techniques Needed to Write Slide Show to DVD?

Created my first slide show of +/- 1,200 slides in PSE 4.0 slideshow. No problem there. I want to burn this slideshow to a DVD that I can use in a laptop or other computer to view the slideshow on other computers with DVD drives, not necessarily to view on a TV. PSE 4.0 Help file says: Select "File"; then "Output Slide Show"; then "Burn to disc"; then "Select DVD Option." I'm ok to step "Burn to disc," but then there is no "Select DVD Option." Only options at this point are to select video format (NTSC or PAL), and Output Speed. "Burn VCD on drive (Phillips DVD+RW-D28)" is pre-printed in the dialog box and cannot be changed. Inserted a DVD+RW in drive, clicked "OK," and this disk was immediately ejected with a pop-up box reading "Incompatible media. Please insert a blank CD-R or a CD-RW disk to burn the VCD". (1,200 slides will not fit on VCD.) One user suggestion to reboot the computer to see a DVD option on screen did not help. My OS System is Windows XP. Two programs installed on my computer with the DVD burner, that I believe are DVD authoring programs: MyDVD v.3.5, and PowerDVD v.4.0. Must I have Photoshop Premiere Elements 2.0, or some additional software (recommendation?) to create a "portable" slideshow to view on other computers?
    Would appreciate any help!

    >Must I have Photoshop Premiere Elements 2.0, or some additional software (recommendation?) to create a "portable" slideshow to view on other computers?
Glad that you added the fact that you want to play the DVD on other computers - it does make a difference. As the prior post indicated, you really do need Premeire Elements or Nero Vision Express or Sonic MyDVD to make the DVD to view on a TV DVD player.
However, there is something else that might work if all people who will watch this slide show have a DVD player on their PC/laptop and play it using Windows Meida Player 10. So I suggest that you try it on your PC.
    - In the slide show Editor of PSE 4, do your Output command to a WMV file on your hard drive.
    - Then use whatever DVD software came with DVD burner to burn this WMV file to a DVD as a data file (NOT as a video DVD). Choose an output resolution that will be good for the monitors of the recipients.
    - Next try to play this DVD on your system using Windows Media Player 10 (I don't know if earlier versions will play). I doubt that the software on your PC that plays commercial DVDs will play the WMV file; that is why I directed you to use Windows Media Player.
If you plan to distribute this to the general public, I think you will have problems with the recipients not having the necessary hardware or not understanding that they can't use their normal DVD player software. However if you are sending to a limited set of relatives and friends, it might work. If anyone has an Apple computer, I think there is software that will play a WMV file on Apple software, but it seems that many people may not have it.
    In closing I will say
    - be sure to save your slide show as a project so you can do multiple experiements (you may have already done this)
    - it would be much more flexible as to how it is played if you did make a video DVD. However, you actually have a choice of using higher resolutions if you only save as a WMV file for play on a computer.

  • Imported slide show movie looks weird and flickering

I exported a slide show of high rez photos out of Lightroom as a MP4 movie @1080 and inserted it in to my final Cut X movie and most of the slides have areas of  the photo that are flickering back and forth. Seems like it might be the areas with a lot of detail. is there a fix for this.

Under "Effects" drop "Broadcast Safe", onto the slide show, and see if that helps.
Tom is right, do not make them MPEG4 first, export out as a .MOV file.

  • Desperate..need help  - Anniversary Slide Show - transitions....

Alright I must be an idiot or I'm missing something super simple. I just loaded over 300 pictures into IMovie (I'm using this instead of Iphoto because of it's capability to use sound bytes and multiple songs etc instead of one song over a slide show.) Now that the pictures are finally in order I go to hit play and all it shows is a single "slide" How do I connect all the pictures together so that it will play like a movie? Even editing transitions I find it only previews on the single slide not moving on to the next picture. What am I missing here? Any help would be great before this Sunday.

welcome dave to the  boards..
the 300 clips have to be in the timeline to be part of your movie..
and: when you incidently select one clip, in playback the movie shows only that clip...
    you've read the tutorials...?

  • Slide Show: Move, Scale Pictures Within Frame

If I want to throw some pictures together that I took at an event into a bonus slideshow for when the DVD is idle, I'd like to be able to position them properly in the video frame.
Currently, the slide show editor is quite limited, to the extent of the built in pan and zoom effects.
I'm not asking for a full-featured image editor, we already have plenty of those. I just want to make the image composition look halfway decent in the frame, without editing each image in Photoshop.

this may be more of an iDVD issue. Sorry - I will re-post there - However, any help is always welcome.

  • Quicktime slides show movies not working in iweb

made keynote (hyperlinks only) slideshows, then exported to quicktime. slideshows work on desk top but not online in iweb o8 ( movie pages). Largest show is 4.4mb. they sometimes work, but mostly run on arbitrary loop. if i cant figure this out I might have to leave iweb. have I missed somthing simple?

I solved the problem by simply removing Safari and using an other browser. I'll have to remove the sentence on my webpages that advises people to use Safari.

  • Pix cropped in slide show movies...a fix?

Apologies if this question has been answered before.
I'm creating a video slideshow using FCP but I've found that the still photos, while looking perfect in the timeline and canvas, are somewhat oddly cropped when exported using 'edit to tape' to be played on tv screens. It's nothing terribly dramatic, but the top right and left corners tilt in a few degrees on the sides.
Again, odd thing is, that this effect doesn't occur on the main fcp canvas, only in export to a tv screen. The same holds true after exporting the movie to dvd studio pro and playing it in a standalone dvd player.
Anyone else experience this and discover a solution?
    Thanks in advance,
    JRS
      Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Sherrlock, if you're seeing this "effect" on 2
different TVs then it's most likely a normal display
of something you're doing visually that's a little
    unusual.
Is there a border around your images? If so, how
wide is the border? Say, 80% of width and height?
90%? Maybe you could describe what is on the screen
    a little more.
I still suspect it's a CRT curvature effect that is
shown up by having a black border near the action
safe or title safe areas. If so, it won't be
affected by a properly set up projection - although
any masking or keystoning of the projector image will
    cause different sensations.
If we are looking at this black border thing and
you're still worried about it, I'd suggest you look
at #1-3 again. #1 doesn;t have to be neutral, could
be an enlarged, softened version of the same image -
a common technique for putting 4:3 material in 16:9
    programs.
If you can describe the content and your goals a
little more there might be some "aha".
    Long story short:
I'm comparing and contrasting historical photos with modern repeats of the identical subject - a city skyline with a few shared features, say.
Problem is the photo pairs often intentionally don't match: ie. the older photo will encompass a much smaller field, whereas the larger photo takes in a much expanded cityscape. Also, this means placing photos on different portions of the screen.
I've been dropping these photos into the default black of the canvas, which suits both the older black and white and color pix.
I'm not misunderstanding the use of title safe (at least I don't think I am) - I'm using it as a rough guide to make my initial photo placements and then juggling/expanding the images from there. No matter where the photo is placed in the canvas, however - say, a centered photo using, perhaps, a third of the screen - I'm still getting this slight but noticeable cropping on the upper corners.
I'm sure that you're correct and that this is a crt issue as it's not apparent in fcp canvas. I'll have to try it with the projector and hope that it works. If I had a flat screen, I'd give it a shot, but it's the projector that's crucial in the end for public presentations/lectures. It would be helpful to solve the crt twist, as we hope, eventually, to expand these comparisons and market them as a dvd.
    Best,

  • Music needed for football slide show

I am putting together a slideshow for our high school football team. I need some suggestion for music......I am not nearly creative enough to create my own in garage band.
I used the basic ones I could think of last year (another one bites the dust, showdown, etc), but I am looking for others, but this is a catholic school and I need to be careful about the lyrics.
    Any suggestions???
    Thanks!!!

Thank you! I will try there. I thought this forum was more technical to, but someone said to give it a shot, and I got an avenue to try from you!
