Need to update folio / cannot delete app in app builder

Hi,
After downloading the development .ipa and noticing a few errors, I want to edit the folio. I understand now that you need to just create a new app in the DPS App Builder, however my Single Edition serial number that I purchased to publish the app under is now tied to the first, incorrect app and I can't seem to transfer it over to my new app with the folio edits. I have also tried to just delete that first app, however it won't let me do that either -- the delete button in the bottom right just appears to be gray/unclickable. Help!

Bold text = cannot delete app

IPad Retina, IOS 8.1.2
When choosen bold text in screen, light / bold text
im cannot delete apps.
FOund out after installing some game-apps, when trying to delete them again, the wobling of the apps continued but the speed chanced.
THe same continued after restarting.
remembered that I had chanced to shovi g bold text, and it works when resetting that.

Apps that came with your iPod cannot be deleted. If you downloaded an app and now want to delete it, maybe there are restrictions in place. Check under Settings > General > Restrictions > Deleting apps, make sure it did not get turned off.

When I go to open a Pages document that I saved yesterday, it tells me that I need to updated Pages. However, App Store doesn't give me an option to upgrade Pages. Suggestions?

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5.2 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Older versions of Pages 5 can not open files from later versions of Pages 5.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened in a newer version of Pages is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed almost 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Cannot delete apps on iPad.

They jiggle but no cross. Tried: General - Restrictions - screen shaded i.e. cannot drag 'delete apps' button across to turn on. Any ideas?

If the settings are "shaded" that indicates that restrictions are not turned on. So you don't want to drag the button to turn it on, you want it to be off.
You cannot delete the preinstalled apps so if you are trying to delete those, you can't. Is your iPad a company iPad or a school iPad? If so, the devices might be set up with something that prevents deleting apps.

Does updating your ipod delete apps,songs,photos or app data or any other thing ???

i want to update to 5.1 and it says that it will backup and restore all apps photos songs and everything.so,does updating delete apps or anything or erase app data and progress??

If you update on your syncing computer and all synced media like app, music and synced photos are in yur itunes library/on the computer, you will not lose them nor ose apps date. The backup that iTunes makes as the first step of the update includes app dat and some other things but does not include synced media.

Unable to export a folio to DPS App Builder

Hi,
I have created the folio and created all the necessary files, assets etc according to the step-by-step DPS guide. The folio has been uploaded and is visible on the Adobe Folio Producer dashboard. The moment I select ''create app'' in the Folio Builder and launch the DPS App Builder, is when I get stuck. The folio doesn't get exported. Does anyone have an idea what could be the reason?

Seriously? I had no clue! You are right.. I have subscribed only to InDesign... I assumed I was able to publish as I am the creative cloud member.... So basically, I need to have access to all the package? Is there any other limitation you know of? Such as the period of subscribtion? Do I need to subscribe for a minimum amount of time, such as one year?

App Updates via Edit in App Builder

I heard several times that it could give buggy Apps when you create an update for an existing App via the "Edit"-Button in DPS App Builder. What's your experience? I have done it for more than one App without any problems. It would be a huge effort to redefine the whole fields of an App in order to update the App to a newer version.

I need to know how to delete apps from my phone permanently because in order to update some of them i need a friends appleid pw because it was at one point synced with his apple id. these apps wont update unless i can delete them and DL under my apple ID.

Okay, so this is a little more information on my problem. When i first got my iphone i didnt have a computer of my own. So i synced it to my friends computer under his apple id. well then later down the road i got a mac of my own and was able to sync it to that. well some of my apps (facebook, snapchat, instagram, and google) backed up to his id. Now none of those applications will update if i dont have the password for his apple id. What i would like to accomplish is to delete them from my phone and such completely, or just unattach them from his icloud/apple id so that i can re download them under my own account. at this point everytime i try to delete them from my phone and go into the app store to download them again, it only gives me the option to redownload them from the cloud. i do not want to do this. because that means the app still wont be up to date and it will still be associated with said friends apple id. is there anyone who can guide me through this issue?

In this case if you download it from his account, you will need to deleted and download it again by your account
also delete your backup from iTunes after you delete all the apps/games that you download it from your friend account
so in the next time you try to restore your backup, you will not face the same problem

After 8.3 update , everytime i delete apps or pictures , my phone doens't free storage :( i have tried to restart my phone several times , and nothing seems to fix the problem

after i updated my iphone 5s to iOS 8.3 , i downloaded a game that took all the storage away . the problem is that , when it delete the game , the storage doesn't expand, it sticks to 0 bytes. i tried to delete more apps , the problems still persists. once i go to gallery , and try to delete a picture or video , the gallery app crashes instantly. i tried to fix the problem by restarting the phone several times , and it doesn't seem to fix the problem. i need a solution to my problem , and if anyone can help , i would be grateful. i can't take pictures or save up anything anymore , and can't seem to check up on my msgs that i receive. Font problems after update folio tools & iPad app

I updated all of my DPS tools and the ipad app and now for some reason one of my fonts looks very crunchy and jagged around the edges. It looked fine before I updated and now it looks horrible and I don't know what to do to fix it. Anyone know what I can do to make it look normal again, I'd really apreciate the help?

I have figured out that the problem seems to be with any text that I converted into a button. If I make it an object then it looks fine. I don't know why updating my dps tools would make all my buttons look horrible they looked fine before the update but at least I can do a work around now.

You don't need other people's experience for this, just an extra drive with a partition where you can install an upgrade and test your requirements before moving to it permanently. Lots of people who cannot afford to have OS update problems work this way. Superduper has a "sandbox" feature which makes this really easy.
I always think that if you're going to reinstall the OS, best do it fresh rather than a clone that may already have some cruft on it.
Perhaps. The main value of the clone is that you can keep working without losing the time required to reinstall, which could be important for a particular user on a particular day.

How do I stop updates from reactivating deleted apps?

Every time I update my phone, it brings back apps I've deleted. How do I stop this?

I have posted these suggestions many times and one or another have worked for other users in the past. Give them a try, but YMMV.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

I mentioned to tap the trashcan, not "uninstall".
I am not sure what you're doing to see "Uninstall"
You can try on the main apps screen. Tap and hold an icon of the app you want to delete > tap the trashcan.

Cannot Delete App(s)

I've got a new 27" i7 iMac, w/10.6.2
If I try to delete anything from anywhere, it pops back instantly (on the MacIntosh HD).
For example, if I want to install say a new HP software package for my HP Photosmart, and I either drag to trash or use App Zapper, it comes right back. Same thing with say something like MacPar Deluxe. Try to update it, delete it, etc., it comes right back. Noting goes away, it pops right back.
I have an external hard disk as my Time Machine backup, tried same things with it with it disconnected, no luck. Tried Onyx, no luck. Repaired disk permissions, no luck.
Tried creating a new user, logged in as new user, same issues.
Any ideas?

Here it is, almost 1 month since my post, and no replies?
I think the misunderstanding is trash.
It's not about deleting trash.
It's about deleting (moving to trash) an application.
If I'm a user, and I want to install an application (for arguments sake), say Google Chrome, if I already have it installed, and I go to delete it (move to trash)... and it is not running, I right click it, say move to trash, it goes away, and then it reappears where it was (applications). Alternately, if I drag it to trash, it show as something in the trash can (as it's empty to start with), then poof, it becomes empty again, and appears back in the application folder.
Anyone?

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
