Need to upgrage Ram to HP laptop HP G62-361TX

Hi Friends, i need to upgrade Ram in HP Laptop Model:G62-361TX -  I am 4 GB Ram ( 4GB 1RX8 - PC3L-12800S-11-12-84)
it possible to upgrade in laptop

Hi RAMKUTTI,
Thank you for your inquiry, I am happy to  help!
I grasp you would like to upgrade the memory on your G62-361TX notebook.  Here is a link to the Compaq Presario CQ62 Notebook PC HP G62 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide. Please note page 1-1 under memory.  It states it support up to 8GB of ram.
Therefore you should be able to install 2 -4GB cards for total of 8.
I hope this has answered your question.

  • Upgrading the GPU, CPU and RAM of my Laptop n201ax

    This maybe is a really long post but please answer because i really need answers for each one of these questions and i really want to upgrade my laptop to the best configuration If i Can.Let me make this clear first.* In the upcoming content the words "this laptop" always refers to Hp Pavilion 15-n201ax*
    Okay so first of all i read somewhere that the maximum Ram of this laptop can be expanded till 16gb but the i came up with this link here -http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Hardware-Upgrades-Replacements/I-would-like-to-upgrade-memory-of-my-laptop-HP-15-n201ax/td-p/5146905 And then i came to know that it can only be upgraded to 12gb by reading Page #2 Chapter 1 Description of this Guide-http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04438537.pdfFirst of all i would like to ask is that, 1. Can i buy a ram of any brand but ofc the same clock speed ie 1600mhz?, so can i go for the GSkill 4gb 1600Mhz DDR3 ram?2. Does the size matter to the respective slots? or i can install the 8gb and 4gb ram in any alternate slots? So this was all about the RAM But i need to know if i can change the discrete GPU and APU of this laptop3. And if Yes - Which are the compatible mobile GPU's that i can install by removing the previous one ie AMD 8600M (For example the R9, R7 and R5 Laptop graphics)4. And Which are the compatible APU's that i can install by removing the previous APU ie AMD A10-4655M APU (For example the AMD FX APU for Laptops)5. If i can upgrade the GPU and APU both please tell that does the compatibility matters? like only a specific GPU can work with a specific APU ie like in this laptop AMD A10-4655M APU + AMD 8600M GPU. Please Help Me out, Please.Thanks in advance.

    Pavilion 15-n201ax? We are going to need to refer to the Service Manual here: Your Service Manual Officially, it only supports 12 gigs. Your model has a single 8 gig module so you have an open slot. Unofficially, may users here have reported that adding another 8 gigs to make a total of 16 gigs will work fine. But that is something you take the risk of doing, since it is unofficial.  The part numbers for the proper memory are listed on page 42. You need DDR3L-1600 SO-DIMM.  If you are going to go official, the 4 gig module is:   691740-001 This is it on amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/HP-691740-001-1600MHz-PC3L-12800-memory/dp/B00CI08FX4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1437948185&sr=8-1&keywords=691740-001 You should just leave the 8 gig where it is and add the new memory in the open slot.  On your model laptop, the GPU/APU is soldered to the motherboard. In order to do any upgrade you would need to buy a new motherboard. You have a whole incorrect idea that the GPU/APU can be removed and replaced and this is incorrect. The term APU means a processor that has video built in so the whole question about compatibility between GPUs and APUs just misses the mark. On some systems the GPU/APU is socketed and can be replaced which serves to replace/upgrade both the processor and video function but as stated above, on yours this involves pulling and replacing the whole motherboard.  There is a slightly better processor/graphics available using the AMD A10-5745M 8670M (2.9 GHz/2.1 GHz, 2 GB L2, 1333MHz DDR3L Quad 25W) for use with Windows Standard. The motherboard part is 734824-501 HP does not stock the board but I found this online: http://www.discounteddealz.com/product.asp?itemid=327740&gclid=CO78y6rn-cYCFQmCaQodOP0GLQ Never heard of this seller and can't vouch but the price is very reasonable for that board. I expected it to be quite a bit more which makes me wonder about this seller a bit. I would advise keeping what you have. It is very strong for AMD and upgrading to the A10-5745 board will only result in a very small uptick in performance at a very high cost in money and effort.  If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it. Hey sorry but i should have mentioned this before, I live in India and the links you provided are for amazon.comi tried to search on amazon.in and eneded up with this http://www.amazon.in/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=HP+691740-001+4GB%2C+1600MHz%2C+PC3L-12800+DDR3L+DIMM&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3AHP+691740-001+4GB\c+1600MHz\c+PC3L-12800+DDR3L+DIMM Instead, can i get this one ? beacuse the hp one on the above result costs 41% more than the Transcend one below and that's very much http://www.amazon.in/Transcend-4GB-DDR3L-1600-LAPTOP/dp/B00B5LOOJG/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1437984575&sr=1-2&keywords=ddr3l+4gb+1600mhz And last thing is that Will the performance be better if i go for Ram branks like Corsair or GSkill same types of memory?

  • Question About Adding Ram from other laptop to T-series Thinkpad

    Hi,
    I have a question about adding additional RAM. Right now I have a 4gb ram stick in the t510. I have an acer laptop which I do not need and there is a 4GB ram stick onboard (maybe two 2gb ram sticks) there in that older laptop. Would it be possible to add one stick of 2gb ram (or 4gb i need to check if it is 2 or 1) from the acer to the lenovo thinkpad making the total ram in the thinkpad over 4gb????
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Richk,
    Yes, I am using a 64-bit operating system. I am running on windows 7. And as for reported incompatibilities....technically taking a RAM from another laptop and placing it in the laptop should be the same as purchasing a RAM card from ebay or something and putting into the laptop right?

  • Can I install a 8 Gb ram on my laptop?

    Hi, I wan't more RAM in my laptop, it came with 2 Gb, now it has 3 Gb. But, I would like to get 8 Gb bot i don't know if it is possible with my specifications.
    I have a dv6663cl laptop.
    this is a picture of the things it have
    The board has 2 slots for RAM, is it possible to put 2 4 GB modules or is it maximun 4 GB at all? and, if I put more, do I have to change it in the BIOS?
    Thanks for your help.
    Ps: sorry if my english is not very good.

    4 gigs is the max. You do not need to do anything other than put it in to make it work. If you have a 32 bit version of Windows (most people do) you are wasting your money to put in more than 3 gigs because that is the most the operating system can use.
    If you want to use 4 gigs completely you need 64 bit Windows.

    Greetings from a Photoshop Newbie. I need a computer, preferably a Mac laptop, with some serious processing power. I take photos with a Pentax 645Z; files are 50MB raw. I upload from Adobe Bridge and manipulate the photo, sometimes turning them into files in excess of 250MB. I cannot resize as the large files are needed for enlargements. Have all sorts of problems trying to manipulate, add effects and saving most large files. I need some serious processing power. Can anyone suggest what Mac i should purchase? I thank you in advance for your help :-)

    It sounds as if you're having some system-related problems now, unrelated to processing power as such. In particular, a buggy video driver can cause everything to slow to a crawl.
    Medium format files are big, true, but not so big as to cause significant slowdowns on a normally functioning and reasonably current computer. A laptop will always be slower than a well-equipped desktop system, though. Mac vs PC plays no part in this, performance is unrelated to platform.
    Bottlenecks are different in ACR and Photoshop, so that should give you a clue. ACR is computing-intensive and mostly limited by CPU speed. Photoshop, however, is mostly bandwidth-intensive and mainly limited by memory and disk throughput. It's also sensitive to GPU issues.

    I am not running any third party trim software, so that's not the issue.

    iCloud will automatically create a shadow copy on your Mac of all files you a storing on iCloud Drive. iCloud Drive is meant for automatically updating all files across all devices. You cannot save space on your macs by moving files to iCloud Drive.   See this link:  iCloud Drive FAQ

  • Need help on rams to be compatible with my Spec

    Hi I need to replaced my rams. Appreciate some advice here. Currently I am using DDR PC3200/400Mhz rams. As it's no longer economical/ value-for-money for me to get PC3200/400Mhz rams, below are the alternatives I am looking into since their prices are more cost effective than 400Mhz rams. According to my Spec, Intel 2.8Ghz Pentium 4, MSI motherboard 865PE Neo 2 PLS, 478 socket. Will I be able to use PC4200 533Mhz, PC5300 667 DDR2 rams?
    Kingston DDR2 533Mhz 1GB
    Kingston/Corsair DDR2 533 Mhz PC4200 1GB
    Patriot DDR2 PC4200 533Mhz 1GB
    kingston DDR2 PC5300/667Mhz 1GB
    Compatibility and stability is more impt to me. I do not intend to overclocking. Appreciate anyone if you could help advice me on the timing as well for these suggested Rams w/o overclocking.

    You can't use DDR2 ram with that board. You need DDR1 PC3200 ram. Best thing to do is sell the ram you currently have and get a new dual channel kit as your slots are already full and further mixing will lead to problems.
    Hi thanks for replying.
    I don't intend to mix the existing rams that I have with a new replace rams. I will just install 2 x 1GB rams. So I need to know if my motherboard will be able to use 1 GB DDR2 533mhz or DDR2 667Mhz rams before I go and buy.
    Really can't use DDR2 rams?

    The first thing to try is Deleting Corrupted Cache in DW.  You must turn on hidden files/folders in your operating system to find them.

    If that doesn't help, try Restore Preferences

  • Textures need to much ram!

    Hi guys, i'm quite new to java3D;
    At the moment I try to create a rotating menu. It consists of a circle, and depending on the rotation angle of the circle, different actions are startet. It's a bit like one of these very old telephones. I think you know what i mean.
    I create a cylinder with the height of zero, then i rotate it around the X-Axis so that I can see its top. Now i have created a flat "disc". Then i add an image with the menu text as texture to the disc.
    The problem is now that the picture needs a very high resolution (about 2500x2500 pixel), otherwise the text gets grainy; when the picture is loaded, this simple application needs about 130mb ram. Without the picture it takes about 20mb... I think this is very strange, the picture itself has only about 200kb.
    Here is the code where i add the texture:
          ZylinderAppearance.setTexture(new TextureLoader("sample.jpg", null).getTexture());
          ZylinderAppearance.setTextureAttributes(new TextureAttributes(TextureAttributes.MODULATE,new Transform3D(),new Color4f(), TextureAttributes.FASTEST));
          ZylinderAppearance.setCapability(Appearance.ALLOW_TEXTURE_WRITE);
          Cylinder Zylinder = new Cylinder(0.8f, 0.0f , Primitive.GENERATE_NORMALS | Primitive.GENERATE_TEXTURE_COORDS, 100, 10, ZylinderAppearance);Is there a better way to load / add the texture? I also tried writing the text of the menu directly with Text2D(), but this text always looks ugly.
    Another possibility might be to create single pictures for every text-block and add them one by one, but I dont really know how to create the tex-coordinates of round shapes..
    here you can see a sample texture for the disc: http://www.bwiebertha.de/sample.jpg
    thx in advance!

    from looking online it looks as though your model can take 8Gb maximum.

    I followed your instructions and installed Developer Suite 10G on Windows Vista Home Premium edition. I have Oracle 11G DB running on the same machine.
    Two points, Steve:
    1. When I tried to set the maximum virtual memory to 6110 an error message displayed from Windows and told me that I can't set the maximum virtual memory to more than 4096. I set it to 4090 and it worked and I got nothing wrong during the installation process.
    2. After installing JInitiator and disabling Java on Firefox I called the http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet page and everything seemed to be OK because the Oracle Forms Services logo appeared and then a successful installation message appeared , but as I clicked (ok) to continue a gray screen appeared inside the browser (like the one displayed when you try to run a Java applet inside a browser) and then I wait to death till something appears but sadly nothing. I just get a blank gray screen inside my Firefox browser.
    Do you have any idea what to do to solve the problem?

    Q2: I think so. The service guide says that it's possible for model 1.1 only. Product specs for G62-361tx say that the hard drive is a 320GB 5400rpm and this hard drive is available for model 1.1 only. I think that you may use a 4GB module anyway, the laptop might be upgraded up to 8GB of RAM..

    On Crucial.com it shows its 8 GB upgradeable. I am thinking to buy 8GB (1 X 8GB)RAM and then will add 2 GB of my old Ram.
    I searched lot on google and some says may be it will support and use 10 GB RAM and some says may be it will not work.
    So CAn anyone help me for suggestting that i will buy (1 X 8GB) or (2 X 4GB) RAM.
    Because on my model if (1 X 8GB) single Ram can work fine then i will have no lose to buy single slot RAM.

    From the factory your HP G62-361TX Notebook Computer come with 3 GB DDR3 (1 x 1024 MB + 1 x 2048 MB). According to the Compaq Presario CQ62 Notebook PC and HP G62 Notebook PC - Maintenance and Service Guide this model supports;
