Need to use the results of one query as an input to another query
Hi, I have one sql query in my XML file, that returns more than one values for a column.
and i want to use this output one by one as an input to the second query to retrive the data from the second query.
Could please someone tell me if its possible in XML Publisher?
If possible, please share the syntax to do the same
For eg:
Query 1:
Select data1, data2 from query1 ; -- output data1 and data2
want to use data1 and data2 one by one in the below query
Query 2:
select * from abc where name_id= data1/data2;

Make sure your cursor declarations are in your declare section, not between the begin and end statements.

As far as I understand your requirement, you want to pass the result of one query to another query as a filter.
Well you can do this, by Using Replacement Path Variable.
For e.g. you want to pass Values of Custmomer Account Number to another query. In the second query, create one variable on Customer Account Number with type Replacment Path. Here it will ask you to enter the name of the query from which you would like to take the values of Customer Account Number.
When you will run the second query , it will execute the first query from which you want to read the customer accoutn number in the back-end. And it willl display the output the second query as per the valeus of customer account number.

Using the results of one recordset to filter another.

I have a dynamically generated web page that uses a recordset to gather most of the relevant information that is needed on it. However, what i need to do is create a second record set on the same page and filter that second recordset using one of the results generated from the first recordset. The problem that i am having is that the first recordset displays its information as an echo <?php echo $row_Recordset1['move_type']; ?> but i obviously cannot use this echo code in the filter for the second recordset, the code obviously needs tweaking but i am not sure how.
If it were as simple as copy and paste the query i would need for the recordset2 is as follows but i am unsure how to code the echo from the first recordset. I am well aware that the following code could never work but i hope it works as simplified example of my intention.

Any help would be appreciatedI can think of two ways this can be done. One way, (which may or may not be appropriate in your case) is to use an INNER JOIN. Here is an example:

Do a search for tutorials on INNER JOIN for information about how to use it.
Another possible solution is to nest one SQL statement within the result of another: like this:

How to use output of a Query as an input to another Query
Dear BI experts,
We have a unique requirement. We are multinational company and employees moving from Country to another.
I have created a Bex query to give me the list of countries that employees have been since they joined the company. The columns in the report are PERNR, date_from and country.
When I run the query for all employees it gives us the list of countries that each employee was present.
Now the requirement is to show only the employees who have been at least once in UK. This list should contain all the countries they were living in addition to UK.
I cannot put a condition in the u2018Countryu2019 column for u2018UKu2019 since it will give me only UK and will not list other countries.
Could you please provide me with a solution.
I thought of running 2 queries to get the desired result. First run a report with a condition that Country = UK. This will give the list of employees who have been in UK at least once. Run the second query by using the list of employees from he first query without any restrictions. But the question is how to make the list of employees in the first query as an input to the second query, other than manually adding it in the selection screen.
Hope I was able to explain the requirements clearly.\

5)In the Report A check whether in the GOTO -u get the Receiver Query ,i.e Report B.
In the Assignments in RSBBS set the Emp Infoobject as Delete instead of Generic and create a Input Variable for Employee in Report A.

Hi exerts,
We need to show error msg in the dashboard when there is no data and when wrong prompts are slected.
But we have 2 sections in dashboard page and condition on botht the sections.
So in other words what we actually need is if there is no data in both the sections or analysis in both the sections make the next section where error report is placed work.

In OBIEE 11g we have an option like conditional navigation/Action link/guided navigation.
IN the action link while giving the navigation link,it will ask for the condition like rows return yes/no.
If the selected criteria doesn't return any rows ,you can navigate to some other Bi content/web page etc..(Based on the condition it will work)

You can change local structures into reusable structures in any existing query by selecting the structure and, choosing Save as... from the context menu and then entering a technical name and a description in the Save Structure as... dialog box.
You can change reusable structures that you are using in a query into local structures by selecting the structure and choosing Remove Reference from the context menu.

Using the result of a subselect in another part of the select
Does anyone know if 9i can use the results of a subselect in a select in another part of the select. For example:
select x, (select y from sometable) as ssvar, z, (select abc from someothertable where somecolumn=ssvar) from yetanothertable
Anyone? We have a bunch of Sybase queries we are porting over and they use this extensively. It looks like the 9i docs say this may not be possible, but I really wanted to be sure before I rewrite the queries.

Performing calculations on characteristics, using the results as query rows
I want to perform a calculation on 2 date fields (find the number of years separating the dates). These 2 date fields are characteristics. I want to use the result field as a row in the query. How to do this?
Do I have to use a calculated key figure and then converted that key figure into a characteristic to use in a row?

We have 30 ipads at our school and it is great. We are about 850 student on my school and everyone are using the ipads. One hour at the time. (we have a booking system.)
I teach music and are using Garageband. I need to find away were my students that are working on a project can export the files and save them somewhere, so when they 7 days later open Garage band can import there song with all the correct midi-tracks. When I export the song to Icloud the song become an Mp4 file (I think). And I can import the files via Icloude.

your students could store their projects in iCloud, only you would continously have to change the AppleIDs of the iPads, so each student could store the songs with their own AppleID. I don't think this will be feasable.
The other possibility would be to share the projects to iTunes and to download them to iTunes on a Mac at the end of each lesson. Does your school have Macs? This will not work with PCs.

Just thought that I'd report that I've decided on my solution.
It seems that just making do with what I can find on the US store is the easiest and perhaps also the best way of going about it. All other methods mean trouble. I'm lucky that China hasn't outright blocked the US store, as they HAVE blocked iTunes music store in China already (something about a song about Tibet caused them to block the store entirely).
So yeah, just going to deal with it I guess. I should be grateful I'm getting anything at all, considering the country I'm in. Still, I just feel so ripped off sometimes when I pay for expensive devices and I can't even get much out of them do to my region. iPhones cost around $700 in China because there's no company like AT&T that you can just sign a contract with to get one, so you have to pay up-front for the phone, and get less features out of it in the end. Makes buying smart phones look like a waste of time and money sometimes, since you can't use the device to do what it was built to do due to censorship and not having any content for your region (though they do have a lot of Chinese apps that I can't use due to not knowing Chinese). -

Friend of mine bought some movies (ITunesStore) one of the 5 devices that she could use them in is my Mac. She needs to use the movies on another device and ask me for delete the conection in my laptop. For that I erase them in Itunes, but she can't still used them? How delete the conections between my computer and her account?

I want to create another report by using the result of 2nd dataprovider of thr 1st report.

If I understand you correctly, you want to create the query once but run mulitple reports of it. Is it okay if the reports are in tabs within the same document or do they have to be in separate documents?
If the later it is not really possible. There are a few options
It is possible to use a query create in QaaWS, but there is no schedule option around this, so every call is on demand.
Also you can create instances of reports using Web Intelligence/Crystal Reports and have more that one Live Office document/Xcelsius dashboard point to the instance. In this event you are runnig the query once and using the displaying it in different reports.
Finally, if you just want to reuse a query from one report to another then you can copy and paste the report and change the report layout.

I want a dialog to come up, Do you want to skip or replace existing files.
Then the result of the dialog to be used in the reast of the script.

I uploaded 7 podcasts using Podomatic. iTunes is using the titles of one of the podcasts as the title for the page. I need to change the page title and also remove my name (not sure why my name was posted instead of the name of the podcast speaker). Do I need to delete the whole Album and start over, or can I edit the title? https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/accelerating-your-due-season/id659519611. Thanks for help. iTunes is simply reproducing what is in the relevant tags in the feed:

You need to change them in Podomatic wherever you originally entered the data and republish the feed. The Store should pick up the changes after a couple of days or so, though it's possible it might not do so until you post a new episode.
