Need "tool tip" type popup extension

I'm trying to set pop-ups as labels. These will be linked to
hotspots/image maps created on an image. Because the labels will be
changed frequently, I don't want to have to create a new image or
html page for each label. I want to be able to just make a hotspot
and enter the label text and some simple parameters, including
position on my page, font, border width, background color, and like
that.
Because this is an artist's page, I want the labels to look
nice, not "computerish." I've used Kaos Expert Popups, but they
require you to create an image, plus they have a Window with http
info for a border. I want just a plain border - or none at all!
This doesn't sound all that complicated, but I can't figure
out how to do it in DW. Is there an extension that will do this?
Or, better yet, can I do it in DW? I don't have much coding
ability.

Type Tool Tips for Photoshop
Most folks understand how to create text in Photoshop. You select the Type Tool from the Toolbox, or you tap the "T" key on your keyboard. Then, in the Character Palette you set the attributes for font, color, size, etc. A simple click in your document window will mark the spot where you may begin typing unbounded "point" text. Or, you click and drag in your document window to create a paragraph text box. Type out your text, then tap your "Enter" key to commit the text to its new layer.
It's pretty straightforward, and Photoshop offers a decent set of tools to adjust how your text looks. One hitch that long-timers will tell you about, though: It's generally accepted that Photoshop isn't the best application to be using if you have to have to create a lot of text because it doesn't have all of the adjustment functions necessary to produce large amounts of professional-quality text. Well, the real world being what it is, sometimes, and for some users, Photoshop is the only application they have to work with; might as well make the best of it, right?
So, once you have text entered onto a layer in your document, how do you then reselect it either all of it or just a portion and navigate through it easily? What follows will answer some of those questions.
Note: The keyboard shortcuts that follow assume you are using a Mac. If you're using Windows, substitute the CTRL key for "Command."
Double-Click on the boxed 'T' thumbnail on the desired Text Layer in the Layers Palette. This will select and highlight all of the text on that layer.
Then, if you want, you can use some keyboard shortcuts to move the "Blinking Bar" Type Tool cursor through the text.
Assuming that your text is enclosed in a click-and-dragged out paragraph text box...
When all text is highlighted:
"Home" key will move cursor to the beginning of first line of text.
"End" key will move cursor to the end of last line of text.
When text is NOT highlighted, but cursor is flashing within the text:
"Home" key moves cursor to the beginning of the line it's in.
"End" key moves cursor to the end of the line it's in.
Command + "Home" moves cursor to beginning of first line of text.
Command + "End" moves cursor to end of the last line of text.
Shift + "Home" selects text from cursor position to the beginning of the line it's in.
Shift + "End" selects text from cursor position to the end of the line it's in.
Shift + Command + "Home" selects text from cursor position to the beginning of the first line of text.
Shift + Command + "End" selects text from cursor position to the end of the last line of text.
Arrow keys can also be used to select text in various ways.
When your cursor is flashing within the text:
Shift + Right Arrow cumulatively selects text one character or space at a time, from cursor position, progressing toward the end of the text.
Shift + Left Arrow cumulatively selects text one character or space at a time, from cursor position, progressing toward the beginning of the text.
⇒ Add the Command key to select whole words at a time, in either direction.
Shift + Up Arrow selects text from cursor position back to the next line above the cursor.
Shift + Down arrow selects text from cursor position forward to the next line below the cursor position.⇒ Add the Command key to select text starting from the cursor position, and accumulating either back to the beginning of the first line, or forward to the end of the last line.
That covers most of what (or more than) you need to know to navigate through and highlight text. There are some other key combos, and now that you have an idea of what to do, I'll let you experiment and discover them on your own
Type Tool Visual Indicators
Keep a close eye on your Type Tool cursor as you move it near to and away from a hunk of text in your document window; it will change form to indicate different functions.
When you see it as a plain old "I-Bar" cursor, like so: ...that means that it's ready to select a position within that text, or to select a hunk of that text.
When you see a "boxed I-Bar" cursor, like so: ...that means your cursor is outside of the selectable area for the current text, and is ready for you to click (to start right in typing some unbounded point text) or click-n-drag (to create a paragraph text box). This will, of course, create a new text layer.
How can you get a visual indicator of where that selectable area for current text begins and ends without blindly moving your Type Tool cursor around the text? Double-Click on the "Boxed-T" thumbnail in the Layers Palette. The text for that layer will become highlighted in your document window. See the black area that surrounds the text? That shows you the actual space occupied by the characters. If your Type Tool cursor is inside this highlighted area, it will display the plain "I-Bar" cursor. If it's outside of that area, it will display the "Boxed I-Bar" cursor.
Want to FORCE Photoshop to create a new Type Layer, even though you're seeing the plain I-Bar cursor? Hold the SHIFT key, then either click, or click-n-drag out a paragraph text box.

Double-clicking with the Arrow cursor will select existing type.
The Type Tool jumps to a different location when creating a new block, like I have snap-to-grid turned on.
Cursor is different than previous versions. After setting preferences to "Type Object Selection by Path Only" the cursor is behaving more like I expect it to. But… it still is working oddly. New doc, created a new type object, clicked arrow cursor to deselect it, then tried selecting it with the Type Tool. Creates a NEW path.
Cursor looked like "Area Type Tool" in doc 1, but does not behave that way.
Until I straighten this out, I'll stand by my original statement. It's unuseable.

Totally frustrated. Need help with type tool in CS2.

Must start by admitting I'm embarrassed to have to even find myself asking this question. . . But after working with PageMaker since Ver. 2.0 in the early '80s, finally was forced to switch to CS2 when I had to replace my Mac/Intel computer 3 (or was it 4 years ago?). Did so fighting and cursing all the way, and I'm still having trouble typing in Photoshop . . . not just today, but EVERY TIME I sit down to work on a project.
Most are brochures and display ads, and though friends and colleagues insist my real problem is that I should be setting them up in InDesign, I'm convinced it's easier to work on graphics and text simultaneously in Photoshop.
My problem is in grabbing text blocks in order to edit them. Occasionally I'm able to highlight the text I need, but usually I keep getting new type layers instead. I know it should not be this difficult, but as soon as I select the text with the cursor, I get a new, empty text box.It doesn't seem to matter if I am in the layers or edit mode.
I may not be the most technically advanced Adobe user, but I'm not stupid. What the heck am I doing wrong? Can someone please steer me right?

How to control tool tip popup?

How can I control tool tip popup whenever I want ? and the position?

I've been looking at this myself recently, and have come to the conclusion that it's easier to show a JWindow with a JLabel insteadWell it depends on the actual requirement.
To simply force a tooltip to display in its default location for the component you can use:

To force a tooltip to display is a specific location you need to get a little more creative. We tried code something like:

ToolTipManager.sharedInstance().mouseMoved( create a mouse moved event);
ToolTipManager.sharedInstance().setInitialDelay(delay);The above code should dislay the tooltip, but it will be hidden based on the rules of the tooltip manager.
If you want a more permanent tooltip that you can control when it is visible or hidden then I would use a PopupFactory. The basic code is:

wondering how to do it in flex. In an HBox I have put a small image
and some text. I want if a user wants to see the full size image
and clicks on the small one, another window open with full size
image and close option.

I would like to see the actual email address in a Tool Tip when I mouse over the From address

I use Thunderbird to access my IMAP email account with a non-enormous ISP. Thunderbird is a great email client.
One thing I really miss when using Thunderbird vs. going to my email using a browser: in the browser, when I mouse over the From email address, a tool tip pops up showing me the actual email address, not the alias (or whatever it's called). Please see the attached image for an example of the mouse over tool tip. Is there a way to do this in Thunderbird?

1. Thunderbird blocks remote images by default.
2. Thunderbird does not allow scripts in mail. If they are there they do not run.
3. The only link SPAMMERS or anybody in marketing gets to you is when you download their remote images, run scripts in the mail or click on links to go to their web sites.
4. When I or a spammer send a mail to say [email protected] Most mail servers will refuse delivery unless the address exists on their server.
5. True spammers do not care if a large percentage of the mail they send is to dead email addresses and they make little or no effort to validate active addresses. Corporations like Walmart, Woolworths here in Australia, Ebay and Paypal are very interested.
With that knowledge, you are now aware that opening the mail tells a spammer nothing even in the remote chance they are interested.
Oh and the source of the urban myth is Microsoft whose mail clients allow scripting, remote images and uses the file extension of the file not it's mime type to determine how to open it.
That is the difference between a mail client where the developers think security first and one where the developers give the user what they want and try to tack on security after the fact.

Tool-tip text for Selection screen buttons.

Got another requirement and need your help.
I have a user-defined selection screen in my program. I would like to know if it is possible to have a tool-tip text ( quick info ) for the Pushbuttons on this selection screen.

Function Buttons.
For report programs you declare the selection screen appearence with select-options, parameters and selection-screen commands, function key is one of them.
So a quick example
REPORT ZYX.
TYPE-POOLS: ICON.

SELECTION-SCREEN FUNCTION KEY 1.

Form field tool tips & Read Out Loud

I know that having tool tips for form fields in a PDF is a requirement for accessibility. When I use View > Read This Page in Acrobat, the reader does not read the tool tips for the form fields, even though I've turned on Read form fields in Preferences > Reading. I have a both check boxes and text fields on the form.
What do I need to do to have the Read This Page feature read the form field tool tips?
And, if the Read This Page features does actually read the form field tool tips, wouldn't it be rather redundant that it reads the tool tip and then it also reads the text label printed on the form?
Are certain types of form fields considered 'not accessible?'

Sorry, to the best of my knowledge the Acrobat Read Out Loud feature cannot be coaxed into reading form field tips. But you have other options like the PAC 1.3 preview feature and the Callas pdfGoHTML plug in - that let you see the form fields and tips in the context that an assistive technology user would hear them. Or you could use the excellent free screen reader NVDA. Or pay for JAWS.

Yes, form field tips can be repetitive. Accessibility rules can be dogmatic. If a form field is labeled and tagged properly and it would be annoyingly repetitive to include a tip, and if you are not constrained by a must-pass-the-dogmatic-accessibility-checker rule, feel free to use your good judgment regarding when it makes sense to leave out the tip.

My understanding is that XFA-based PDF forms are problematic from an accessibility standpoint. Standard PDF forms should always be made accessible.

Dynamic tool tip

Hi guys
I'm wondering if it is possible to have the tool tip for a dropdown box based on the entries in the drop down box.
so if the user could select "a", "b", or "c" from the drop down box, the tool tip would read "a / b / c"
I could of course type it out manually, but I have several dozen and a universal script would be much quicker.

Adobe have an excellent guide to "Calculations and Scripts", it goes back to v6 but is still applicable today. I can't find it on the Adobe web site so I will upload it.
It covers a lot of visual feedback script and is grouped by object type which is very handy. The information is probably available elsewhere, like the help file (but sometimes you need to know what you are looking for; in order to find it).
Anyway something like this in the exit event:

Pesky little tool tip in Premiere

That bug is SO ANNOYING. And it's been like that since at least CS4. I just cannot drop the clip I'm currently holding where that ugly tool tip appears. I'm too lazy to type all that useless stuff in here. So I made a video before anyone asks "blah blah, that's not a bug. It's a feature."

I have to admit that this 'bug' is obviously not a huge one and I don't want Adobe to invest too much time in it. But it still is pretty useless not beeing able to drop the clip when that box is there. And I think every 'problem' (even the minor ones) need to be said, so that the developer knows what to fix (or what to ignore).
All I could do was to send a ticket and start a thread in the forums. Now that bug is known and I can get back to work.

Flexdoc tool tip

Hi,
I can't see the the java-doc like comments appearing in tool
tip when I place the cursor over a declared or core type, like
ArrayCollection. The problem is same in Flex Builder professional 3
or eclipse plugin.
Do I need third party plugin for this or just need to
configure it?

If u hard code the value, it ll not change.
