Need two icloud accounts, but have only one itunes account

My daughters iPhone 4 has to have work done and we were told by our phone provider that we had to back her phone up on iCloud before we
get to our Apple store appt. The issue is, we both use the same iTunes account but I need to save our phones on two different iCloud accounts.
I don't want my contacts and pictures on her phone nor do I want her stuff on mine. Was told it can be done but everthing I am seeing says it can't
be done.
Thanks,
ACMyers

You can set up a separate iCloud account for your daughter using a separate Apple ID and continue to use the same iTunes account.  The ID you use for iCloud does not need to be the same as the one you use for iCloud.
Just go to Settings>iCloud on her phone and sign in with a separate ID, then turn her data syncing to On, as well as iCloud Backup.  As an addiditonal precaution, I would recommend she also import her photos to your computer for safekeeping if possible.  This does not involve syscing with iTunes, but instead is done as described in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.
After backing up to iCloud, be sure to confirm the backup was successful before sending in her phone.  To do this, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup and scroll to the very bottom.  It will indicate the time of the last iCloud backup under Back Up Now if it was completed successfully.

  • Can 2 people share an email account but have 2 seperate itune accounts?

Can 2 people who have seperate Itune accounts, share an email address?

You can't have seperate email addresses with one iCloud account, however, you can use one iCloud account as the master account with all your contacts, calendars etc in it, then add a second iCloud account and only used the email part of it.

  • Me and my wife both have seperate itunes accounts but have only one desktop. How can we bth use seperate accounts on the one pc as I have just bought an album but because she has done in the last week i get an error message saying this pc has been used

and i can't transfer my purchases for 86 days. surely we can use two seperate accounts on the one pc. the only other pc's we have are ipads and we cant sync our ipods using them. thanks in advance

Set up a seperate PC user account on your PC and use that for yourself or your wife. The iTunes library is associated with the PC user account.

    You cannot.

  • Can I have two iPads with two different credit cards linked to one iTunes account?

Can I have two iPads with two different credit cards linked to one iTunes account?

It is still not possible to have two credit cards with your iTunes store account. I've just had a discussion with an Apple representative who suggested I give feedback to Apple about this. The more we are, Apple might listen to us in the end.
    This is the link
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html
Please feel free to use or modify what I wrote there:
I’m surprised as are many other people who have the same issue (can see this in many forum threads) that Apple don’t give us the possibility to have at least 2 credit cards with one AppleID/account like most other vendors do (even much smaller than Apple). This certainly forces people to buy some stuff elsewhere that they otherwise would have purchased from Apple (for example books) or restrain from buying things they would have bought if they had a choice to use a second Credit Card.
Not having this option puts me in a precarious situation since it would not be OK to buy just anything with the Credit Card that is tied to my business (and in many cases like mine the business is only one person, the VAT No being the same as my social security No).
Sole traders need an option too.

  • My sons have shared an iPad but had just one iTunes account. How can we add a second iTunes account?

My sons have shared an iPad but had just one iTunes account. How can we add a second iTunes account?

There is no reason to add a second iTunes account to the iPad unless your sons want to use their own credit cards for purchases and somehow I don't think is the case here.
Anyway.... Settings>Store>Apple ID - tap that ID and sign out. Then tap sign in and tap Create new Apple ID.
If your sons sync with one iTunes library on a computer, it can get a little confusing with two IDs. If either of them has their own iPod and they have been sharing purchased content with the one Apple ID, it gets a little more complicated as well with two IDs.

  • Two separate iPhones got merged into one iTunes account. How to separate them. We are sharing all of each other's contacts at this time. Thanks for your help.

Two separate iPhones got merged into one iTunes account. How can I separate them in iTunes???????. We are sharing all of each other's contacts at this time. Thanks for your help.

The reason you are receiving each other's text messages is because you are both using the same Apple ID for iMessage.  To prevent this you need to use different IDs.  (Note: you can still share the same ID for iTunes.)  On one of the phones, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a separate ID.
To migrate your 3GS to a new iCloud account, start by saving any photo stream photos that you want to keep on the phone to your camera roll.  To do this, open the my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll.  Next, if you have any notes that you are syncing with iCloud that you want to keep, you'll need to email these to yourself so they can be recreated after moving to the new account.
Once this is done, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud.  The phone that will be keeping the account will not be effected by this.)  When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, choose Keep On My iPhone.  Next, sign back in with a different Apple ID to create the new account, turn iCloud data syncing preferences and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to the new account.
Finally, if you have merged data in the two accounts that you want to separate you will have to go to icloud.com from your computer, sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the data you don't want from each account.

  • HT5622 How many family members, computers, iPods,iPad,IDs can you have on one iTunes account?

I'm just trying to sort out some iTunes I'd issues.  Does anyone know how many total iPad iPods can be used with one Apple ID?  Or how many apple  IDs your can have with one iTunes account? Or does each person need there own Apple ID or Apple account? Thanks

You can't have multiple IDs on one account, but you can use multiple IDs for different purposes on the same device.
Just use the one AppleID for iTunes and the AppStore so you can all share your music and app purchases. Then each person should have their own individual AppleID with associated iCloud account for mail, contacts, calendars, iMessage and FaceTime.
You don't have to use the same AppleID for all services.

    No.
One of you create a new AppleID and one use the existing AppleID.
But you can still use the items in each iTunes library.
Create separate computer logins for each of you.
This will give you each your own data. Contacts, calendars, photos, etc. (and your own iTunes library).

  • Can I have 2 or 3 apple accounts linked to the one itunes account?

Our home now has multiple apple products (imacs, ipads , iphones etc) we have previously shared the one itunes account and each has basically loaded whatever apps, movies or music we want from the one account to each of our own devices. Now with the advent of face time everyone is now wanting their own apple id to do so, which was no big issue but now that everyone has their own apple id, they now want to have their own itunes account to match so that they can have their "own" money to buy apps, misic etc whenever they wish (also to stop some people spending others vouchers!!!!).
Can this be done and everyone still have access to all previously and future apps, musice movies downloaded by whoever? Or would they only be able to load items from own account?

Your question is in the wrong forum: this needs to be in the iTunes for Mac OS X forum.
But in any case, I believe the answer to your question is 'Yes'.

  • Help needed with iMessage on multiple devices on one iTunes account

Hi, please can someone help.  I have an iPhone 4S and my wife has an iPhone 4, we are using iMessage with one Apple ID with no problems (I presume as the messages are sent to the phone number), however I have purchased both my daughters an iPod Touch each for Christmas and want to set up iMessage for them so we can all message eachother.  We will all be sharing one iTunes account so can share music / movie / app purchases.  How do I set this up?  Thanks in advance.  Richard

However, when I connected my "fresh" iPad, it immediately started to sync (set to automatic sync), and started to put all my 100 or so iPod Touch apps to my iPad....They were all checked.
It's been a while since I connected a fresh iPad, but I believe that doing a full sync is the default. Stopping the sync and changing what apps you wanted was the correct procedure.
So, next time I connect the iPad, it "knows" which apps need to synced, and does not try to sync "all" apps?
Correct. I do that all the time with my two iPads, each of which have a different set of apps, music, videos, etc.
    Regards.

  • Can two apple id share music on one iTunes account

Can two apple id's share music on one itunes account

No. But you can have music from more than one Apple ID in iTunes and on your iPhone. You just need to Authorize both accounts in iTunes. Note that there are licensing restrictions; only family members can share content. This is enforced mostly by the honor system, except in cases of extreme and obvious violations.

  • 2 Iphones (3GS') and only one ITunes Account

    Greetings all,
While new to the forum my wife and I are not new to the Mac family. Recently we decided to bite the bullet and drop VZW in exchange for the Iphone 3GS. My question is, we currently have one email address and we each use that one to log in to our ITunes on our own laptop, will this cause an issue when we plug in the phones tomorrow for the initial set-up / activation? My other issue is, with all the info (songs, movies, pics, etc) on our separate ITunes accounts, if we go and change the email address / log-in info, are we going to lose all that info?
Thanks in advance for any insight anyone can provide.
    Chris

You may not have a problem at all, and may not need to change anything. You can sync as many devices as you want to the same itunes account, there is no limit. You can have the same content on each device or different content, the choice is yours. What you do not want to do is start syncing different phones to different computers. Pick what computer you want to sync what phone with or sync all the phones to the same computer, but whatever you decide to do, you need to continue to sync that way. I would disable auto sync when an iphone/ipod is connected, under preferences, in itunes on each computer. That way, if you decide to sync each phone to a separate computer, you can easily transfer content between computers by connecting each phone(do not sync) then: Store>Authorize this Computer(to play it safe), then File>Transfer Purchases.
