Need two track analog out

How can I get a two track analog output from an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro soundcard? I need to feed a digital recorder (Fostex MR-8) that only accepts analog inputs.

I tried doing that but I get only a slight hiss. It could be the sound card. We had a power outage that appeared to mess some things up. I cannot get Lin-in 3 to play at all. The recorder works fine so it must be the sound card.

  • Is it ok to hook up two voltage analog outs in serial?

ok... I have a FieldPoint FP-210... basically an analog voltage out, 0-10V out, 200mA per channel (with added external power supply)... my question is... can I hook two channels in series?  Like the way I can put two AA batteries in series... and then double my voltage?  and then control my two seperate channels and the sum of the voltages would be would I subject my load to?
    thanks!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

No, you can't.  The channels all share the common side of their outputs.  If you tried to hook them in series, you would wind shorting out one output relative to ground.
The reason you can do it with batteries is that there voltages are floating.  There is no common reference between the negative terminals of the two batteries.

  • Mulitple analog out tasks

I have a question about analog output generation with DAQmx and LabView 7.0.
I have a NI PCI-6733 analog out card and I want to start multiple task on that card. For example I will begin with generating a continous sine signal on one or more physical channel and after a while output a finite noise signal on another physical channel, but when I try to start the second analog out tasks I get error message -50103 "The specified recource is reserved".
Is it not possible to start two separate analog out tasks the way I want? If so, what solution shall I use to handle this kind of application? I want to use the eight analog out channels separately and not depending on each other.

    Hi Daniel-
As you have noticed there isn't a way to run seperate analog output tasks on your board concurrently.  All operations must be grouped into the same task, so you are left with a choice between two options.
First, you can simply write full buffers for all of the channels you will output.  This method works well if you know the amount of time or number of samples required for the continuous output at the beginning of operation.
If you would like to change the operation based on some user input or other condition then the alternative is to stop the overall task, add channel(s) to it, rewrite the output buffer data, and then restart the task.  I have attached one way to perform this second method to this message.
    Hopefully this helps-

  • Need power amp for compactDAQ analog out

I am using the CompactDAQ in a controls application and need a recommendation for an amplifier that will enable me to provide power proportional to the Analog Out signal, which has voltage but no notable current.  I know the recommendation would be application dependent, but I am hoping for something rather generic for powering motors, heaters, pumps, etc.

You may also find it helpful to search the GlobalSpec in the Affiliated Product Advisor- it's just a good resource when looking for additional equipment to go with your NI hardware.  Happy shopping!

  • Two tracks, one movie -- do I need double the space on my DVD?

I have an 84 minute film that I'm burning to a DVD for a client. I'm also doing a chaptered index of the movie and want each chapter to go back to the Main menu, so I need one track of the movie that has all the chapter markers and another track of the exact same movie with no chapter markers.
Does anyone know if, when I burn the DVD, it will try to compress the movie twice, thus making the file too big for the DVD? Or will the computer know this is the same movie and only compress it once?
Supposed to finish this project today--any help greatly appreciated!!

    Hi,
All you have to create a track and put your film/m2v in that track and create all your chapter points. Then create a stroy for that track. You will get a 'story editor':
The story editor contains - source list in the left side where you can see a list of all the markers in the track and the right side is the entry list. You can drag and drop the entries from the left side to the entry list in the right.
And in the story inspector edit 'End Jump' to the appropriate menu.
In your chapter menu route all your button links to the appropariate story, not the chapter marker in the story!
and link your play 'all button' to the track itself.
    Thats it!
NB: Since stories are associated with the current track, make sure you select the currect track before creating the story.

  • FCP & 3D.  Is there a way to stream two tracks out of FCP simultaneously?

Has anyone set up FCP to cut 3D? Is there any video card or existing 3rd party 'plug-in' or 'hardware device' that might facilitate taking two images simultaneously out of FCP?
This is for a 3D IMAX film company now using a very awkward proprietary system - which requires several different format renderings, working only SD etc. etc. A mess. I've proposed they create an 'Apple' pipeline, which makes perfect sense right up to being able to do screenings in 3D.
If there is a way they could screen their edits in 3D they would be on board tomorrow.
To go back to the IMAX footage and final post production they'll use an EDL or keycode, so outputting the final edit for IMAX is not part of the problem.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated...
    Ben

my suggestion is to read this thread, which does not hold real solutions, but is still running and holds some hints:

  • Trying to Get the "Difference" Between Two Tracks

What I am trying to accomplish is this: I have an audio track of a voiceover with a music bed beneath it. I also have the bed music by itsself, without the voiceover. I want only the voice portion. Is there a way that I can "cancel out" the music portion or get the difference between the two tracks (just the voice portion)? It seems that there should be some means of doing this, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to do it!
    Any advice?

If it's exactly the same music track, then as long as you line it up sample-accurate and the levels co-incide, you can do a simple subtractive process. You need both files available, trimmed to length. Open them both in Edit View, and copy one of them to the clipboard. Open the other, and select Mix-paste, and use the 'invert' option. That will effectively subtract one from the other, with the difference being your vocal.
Have to tell you though that the chances of getting this spot on are amazingly low... any errors at all leave you with bleed-through, about which you can do nothing.

  • Best way to handle two tracks with subtitles?

    Greetings All,
I'm starting a new thread from a previous discussion on mixed 16:9 and 4:3 footage since I've hit a new somewhat separate issue. Mixing footage requires the use of two tracks sao that proper display modes can be set for each aspect ratio. However, I will ulitmately have two subtitle tracks as well on this project. I'm not too concerned about switching between the two subtitle streams; that seems straightforward enough. But I am at a loss as to how to allow two tracks to use the same subtitle stream.
This is not like a multi-angle situation where two tracks are actually refernceing the same exact subtitles. The subtitles for the 16:9 clips will be different from the subtitles for the 4:3 clips. If I was using one track, I would be all set as I could just lay the clips out one after the other and then drop the subtitles in sequentially as well.
But with two tracks, clips on each track occupy the same timecode at the same time, so I'm unsure how to program things so that the proper subtitles play at all times. Am I making sense?
Just to simplify things: if I have one 16:9 clip on track 1 and a 4:3 clip on track 2 and they each have associated English subtitles that must reside in stream 1 (and also Spanish subs in stream 2), as far as I can tell they overlap timecode which creates a problem for subtitles.
Do I need to use scripting? Any pointers in the right direcftion would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance!
    Todd Nocera

Todd, are we to understand that you have the subtitle files already? That is, files complete with timecode?
If your question is about how to make sure that, once the user has selected English subtitles prior to (or during) playback of Track A, Track B also plays English subtitles, that's part of the DVD video spec. Subtitles are a system stream so once a stream has been activated, that stream should continue to play for all tracks. Unless there is something odd going on.
But, again, please detail what exactly the issue is.

  • Parallel audio keyframe adjustment in two track audio files like music

Been trying to figure this out...let's assume I have a music track with stereo audio and I set up to have it occupy two tracks in the timeline.
How do I make keyframe adjustments on one track and have them automatically also be made in the other track at the same time (as in other NLE's)?
    Thanks.

Thanks for responding.  I am fully aware that I can take the two stereo tracks of a left and right audio file and
drop them onto ONE audio track in Premieres Timeline...and not need to have the file occupy the two audio tracks.
But what if I did break it into two audio tracks for some reason.  Is there a way to add keyframes to one of the two
tracks (or raise and lower the levels of one track) and have the other track automatically add the same adjustments?
I've been trying to group, link and all other combinations but there doesn't seem to be way that I can find myself.
    Thank you again.

  • How to VIEW two tracks's materials SIMULTANEOUSLY and SYNCHRONIZED in MONITORS?

How to VIEW two tracks's materials SIMULTANEOUSLY and SYNCHRONIZED in MONITORS?
"Program-monitor" shows the final edited material, and "Source-monitor" shows only one track at a time, and NOT SYNCHRONIZED with the sequence. "MultiCam-monitor" shows the tracks as I need, BUT editing is very stiff:  I want to do edits+cross-fades by hand IN THE TIMELEINE rather than by clicking the monitors. (Some of the "MultiCam-monitor's" other problems: 1) the timeline's time-inspector doesn't move while clicking the monitors, 2) vice-versa: monitor-image doesn't roll when the space-key is pressed for playback the timeline, 3) monitor doesn't show the cross-fades.....)   I understand the "Reference-monitor" doesn't help either at this.
I would SO much like to SEE all tracks' materials simultaneously in whatever monitor, to edit efficently in the timeline.
    Software: Premiere CS3 version 3.2.0
Operating System: Mac OS X (v10.4)

You can only do this in the multicamera monitor.  That's what it's there for.  Proper procedure is to cut there, then go to the timeline and add transitions.
If you're multicamera monitor playback isn't working correctly (I admit having a hard time understanding your points here), then try solving those.

  • Macbook Pro need to port audio out from Firewire or Thunderbolt

I need an additional audio out port (in addition to the headphone jack).
This needs to be analog (going to my sound system / RCA) and it appears I need adaptors that will use the Thunderbolt connector, but something that uses Firewire would be ok too.
My Macbook Pro is 2011 era running 10.6.8

Something like this Digital Audio To Analog Audio Converter ... from Amazon will do the trick.
Search for audio digital to analog converter for other options.

  • Any Patient Tracking Program out there?

Does anyone know if there is any simple patient tracking program out there?
Functions that will be needed is patients demographic information, name ,age, sex, number of times they visited, patient number visits in a single day, as well as a way to bill them and invoice upon visit.

If there is nothing specific you can research FileMaker Pro for any ready made forms they might have that would be similar in nature to what you want.

Note : i am using using submit and return export memory but its directly showing iw38 output and not coming back.

    Hi ananta,
The function module LIST_FROM_MEMORY loads the list from the ABAP Memory to an internal table of the row type ABAPLIST.
The function module WRITE_LIST inserts the content of an internal table of the row type ABAPLIST in the current list.
The function module DISPLAY_LIST displays the content of an internal table of the row type ABAPLIST in a separate list screen.
    check the below program..
    REPORT  Z642_TEST2.
DATA list_tab TYPE TABLE OF abaplist.
SUBMIT riaufk20 EXPORTING LIST TO MEMORY

  • Do we need two ports for establishing one connection to EJB from swing clie

    Hi all,
I have an application which uses Java Swing client and accesses an EJB to connect to the server.
I am connecting to the EJB using iiop://server-ipaddress:port.
It is required for me to open the firewall to access the above specified ip address and port number. Even though, I am able to access the specific ip address and port number, I am not able to establish the connection.
I tried out to check the porblem and I came to know that, this aplication is trying to open another port also on the same IP address.
I am just wondering whether we need two ports for one connection.
Does anybody face this type of problem?

If you need to access on two ports, you would have to open both :)

  • Need to track windows processes through java code.

Need to track windows processes through java code.
Eg: I want to find out whether an exe file (wrun.exe) is running or stopped.
Can I do it through java. If so can any one please tell me how to do it. That will be a great help.
    Thanks,
    Ramesh

There are 2 options for things like this:
    1) Use Runtime.exec() to execute some command or application and parse the input from it.
    2) Write some native code and use JNI to call it.
