Folks, you holding all my photos hostage. How do I unlock Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Editiion 3.2?
How do I get around the registration page that pops up when I go to the photoshop. The page will not let me by to try any thing.
Can't you just send me an unlock code?

I too have got problems with the Photoshop Album Starter Edition Album. My photos are locked in there from 2006 onwards and without any warning I am now unable to access them. The on screen message asks me to register with Adobe for an unlock code and when I tried this the reply came back that the product is no longer supported by Adobe. I rang their customer services (UK) and they told me they no longer supported this product and to contact an IT support man!!!!
Appalled at this. Thanks Adobe - I think not. Anybody else offer me support in overcoming this problem? Thanks.

You're not alone in wondering about how to get photos 'out' of Starter Edition. There are a few posts like this in the forum, all of which are based on the false assumption that Starter Edition has exclusive access to the photos that appear to be 'in' the program.

It is a common misconception that Starter Edition 'stores', or copies, your files into it. But the program does not move or copy files at all, rather it scans your system's My Pictures directory, and generates miniature versions of your pictures (called thumbnails) so that you can browse a 'flat' list of thumbnails of your photos, overcoming the inconvenience of having to go into separate folders in Windows Explorer to have to find files.The thumbnails, as well as any tags, and Albums that you create in Starter Edition are all stored in the Photoshop Album catalog file, separate from your pictures, and your pictures remain where you originally copied them to your computer.
If you use Photoshop Album to subsequently download files from a digital camera or scanner, the default location where the program will create those files would be in the My Pictures>Digital Camera Photos folder. But if you do NOT use Photoshop Album Starter edition to download files from your camera, then you will find that folder empty.
The thumbnails in the Starter Edition catalog will exist, even if you decide to move or delete the original photos that were added to the program. This will cause files in the Photoshop Album catalog to become 'disconnected' from the original photos. To reconnect the files, you can use the File>Reconnect Missing files command to see if the program can locate the original files in a new location, and once again re-link the catalog thumbnails to the files they once referenced.
Since Photoshop Album has been discontinued, I recommend that folks find an alternative solution. One alternative that will preserve most of what you've created in Starter Edition is the Photoshop Elements 8 trial. Install that, and it will automatically convert the Photoshop Album catalog to a current format, and the program will not time out, as Starter Edition did. If you want to purchase more Editing power, you can also choose to purchase the full program, but it's not required.
If you are like many who have come to this forum wondering how you can get to your photos, now that the program has become locked or expired, don't worry; your photos have never been moved by Photoshop Album; they remain wherever you intially put them, on your hard drive. To get to them, you can navigate your file system using Windows Explorer. They are typically in your My Documents>My Pictures folder. I need an unlock code so I can view my photos

If anyone is still having trouble getting a pass code for Adobe Photoshop starter edition 3.0 you will need to contact their CSR directly at 1-800-833-6687. I just called I spoke with a Rep. by the name of Jess she is a female she was very helpful and polite. What they will need is your contact info. and your email address so they can manually find your starter account in their system. Then they will issue you a code to unlock the system to retrieve your locked pictures.
You don't need to register becasue Adobe 3.0 is no longer being used or avaliable. The new system is Photoshop.com you will need to register for Photoshop.com. It's simple and free of charge at no cost to you. What you will need to do once you receive the code is immediately transfer your photos from Adobe 3.0 to Photoshop.com. it will take some time to download but let it run. Remember this is only a temporary code so it will expire and lock again if it's not used in a timely manner.
The code I received from Jess was 92c1d14e. This unlocked my account immediately with no problems. So I hope this code will work for you. I don't know if this code will work for others however it doesn't hurt to give it a try. If not then please call the number above that I've provided you with so one of the Reps. can issue you a code.

I cannot open Photoshop Album Starter 3.0, unable to access pictures and download any pictures. Is there a fix for this? I get error code c0000005 & address 4001b2f.

Hi Donna, I would suggest you to delete perferences and try again. Preferences are located in C:\Documents and Settings\<Logon name>\Application data\Photoshop Album\3.0 Delete files present over there. Please note that Application data is a hidden folders so you need to make "Show hidden files and folders" under explorer -> Tools --> Folder options -> View. I am using Photoshop Album Starter Edition on Windows XP + SP2 and it is working fine. Which OS and service pack are you using?

Photoshop Album activation servers were shut down in 2009 so you cannot get a code. Try the PSE12 thirty day trial, it will convert your PS Album into the new Organizer and you can see if you want to buy it or not. Cannot unlock my Photoshop album Starter 3.0

I have been attempting to unlock my Adobe Photoshop album starter Ed. 3.0
I just spent forever waiting for assistance from adobe and after I got (Trish) she was of no help what so ever and she hung up on me when I needed to be told that I had to register to post a request for information. She gave me two unlock codes, neither of which worked. Can someone please help me as all my pictures are in this program.
How do I unlock? I registered and then it says they will send me an unlock code; which they never have. thus my telephone call and waiting forever and then getting hung up on.
If someone could help me I would appreciate some assistance. Adobe does not respond to e-mails that I have sent.

I just find fixed issues where there is not shown my problem and I cannot find the way to write my question about my need of a code for Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2. Your photos are safe, and are present in the folder on your computer that you specified when importing them. If you used Photoshop Album Starter Edition to import your files from the camera without changing the default folder, look in this folder:
Windows® XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\My Documents\My Pictures\Adobe\Digital Camera Photos
Windows Vista®/7: C:\Users\[User Name]\Pictures\Adobe\Digital Camera Photos

I don't believe the unlock codes for adobe photoshop starter edtion 3.2 are available anymore.
You can however access your photos, as they are stored on your computer in somewhere like your docoments>pictures folder
and open them with another photo editor such as photoshop elements.
Also, the catalog can be most likely converted for use in the photoshop elements organizer

Unlocked, Registered and Working (Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition v3.0)

Following several threads in this user-to-user forum, I lodged a bug report with Adobe and to my amazement, was promptly helped out of the sticky situation of not being able to connect to the internet/register Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition v3.0. After providing all my details and Windows version etc, Adobe came back with an unlock code matched to my email address and ... razzamatazz...problem cured. Moral is simple: lodge a bug report providing all information then and subsequently to Adobe, and sit back.

The same thing happens to me, I've gotten the code and the "unlock now" button won't work. I've tried cut and paste and manually entering. I've tried registering again, and I've deleted the entire program and started over, still can't get the "UNLOCK NOW" to highlight for unlocking. Can't get code to "Enter", what am I doing wrong?

Need help regarding Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0

When I got a new camera about 4 years ago, it came with this software. I loaded it up, but never used it. I normally just create a new folder on my desktop and click and drag the shots from the computer to the desktop. I do this by just opening up my computer, find the external drive and then click and drag.
Here is the problem though. My wife decided to download photos from my daughters b-day party. When she plugged in the card reader, this photo album starter automatically opened and started to drag the photos into the program.
Although this shouldn't be a problem it is a large issue. Since I never used the product, I never registered for it either. So when I just tried to register for it, it told me the program is no longer able to be registered for. And when I hit the register later button, it shuts down the program. Therefore, it will not allow me to grab the photos and save them to a file on my desktop.
Can anyone tell me a way around this, please?
