Need updated Software for Airtel 4G USB Dongle ZTE MF 880 T for Mac OS Mountain Lion

I am trying to use ZTE 880T LTE USB Modem with Airtel for my Macbook Air (Mid 2011) however due to unsupported dialer software I am unable to use it with reliability. As industry practice the Mac Software is there on the Modem however its unstable. Many times the dialer software dosen't recognize the modem and therefore modem could not be connected to internet. The same device is working smoothly on my Windows Virtual Machine installed on the same Macbook Air however the network on VM could not be used on Mac.
What I need is the updated version of dialer software. Is anyone out there using Airtel 4G LTE USB Modem successfully in India. Please help. I am getting awsome speed here but can't use it on my Mac

Hi Guys,
Was struggling with this for the past 2 weeks, and got it working finally.
I am using the Huwaei 4G LTE USB modem provided by Airtel, should also work for ZTE stick.
Here's what i did to get it to work.
1, Install the 4G connection Manager
2, Goto System Preferences -  Network Connections
3, You will see a Huwaei or ZTE modem, Select that
4. In Configuration, Click on add new configuration and Name it "Airtel"
5. Leave, Telephone number, username and password blank
6. Click on Advanced at the bottom of the screen
7. Click Modem, Select "Generic" in vendor
8. Model as GPRS (GSM/3G)
9. APN as www.airtelgprs.com, left the CID in 1
10, Say OK in the screen and come back to Network dialog box
11. Click connect, it will get connected and you don't have to put in any proxies or any other settings.
12. Now you can un-install the Airtel connection manager and be done with it.

  • Do you need antivirus software for Macs?

    Hi there,
I purchased a new iMac yesterday, and I was wondering if I need antivirus software for it?  Thanks!

There are two trains of thought here. Ultimately you'll need to decide which one fits you and your usage.
In general, there are no true viruses on Mac OS X - that is, no software that can just infect your machine and self-replicate without any user involvement.
However, that's not to say that malware doesn't exist. There are several known trojans on Mac OS X - software that's advertised to do one thing but actually doesn't something else (generally malicious) behind the scenes. These applications typically use some social-engineering or other guise to fool you into thinking they're legitimate - for example, you might visit a web site that pops up a message saying you need a certain software update in order to access the site, along with a link to 'conveniently' install that software, only to find it's installing something completely different.
The difference here is that trojan applications like this require some kind of user input and usually require you to authenticate your username and password in order to install. If you only install trusted software and are smart about knowing when you should/should not need to enter your password then you're pretty immune from such tricks. If there are multiple users on the machine (especially if they all have admin access), this problem becomes compounded since it only takes one person to let down their guard.
Then, there's the third class of malware in which your machine becomes a vehicle for viruses, even if you're not affected yourself. A classic example here is email and/or distributing software that gets opened on othe platforms. For example, if you recieve a document that's infected with a Windows virus, it can and will do nothing on your machine. However, if you then forward that document to other users, they may open it thinking it's trusted (it came from someone they know), only to find it infects their machine.
This kind of problem is more prevalent in mixed-platform corporate environments, and is exascerbated when you consider that things like Microsoft Word documents and PDF files have been carriers of this kind of malware in the past.
A good anti-virus application would detect and identify these kinds of malware, even though they cannot affect your machine itself.
So, do you need anti-virus? Probably not if you're careful and don't share much content with other users (especially other users on other platforms). However, there's generally little downside to doing so.

You don't need anti-virus software for your Series 40 based X3-02.

  • When there will be an update to CS6 softwares for MAC users on Lion OsX 10.7.4 ?

Many users of the CS6 softwares complain about issues since their upgrade to CS6 with MAc OsX Lion 10.7.4 . For my part, I lost the use of my internal speaker and all videos in YouTube are soundless and freeze at 12 seconds. iTunes doesn't playback my mp3 but in Premiere, I 've got sound. I can't even adjust the volume of my speakers.

I have been running Lion (currently 10.7.4) for many months on an iMac and a MacBook Pro. In fact, Lion is about to be upgraded to Mountain Lion.
I have had no attributable problems when heavily running InDesign CS6, Illustrator CS6, Photoshop CS6 and other CS6 applications occasionallly.
Loss of internal speakers and ability to play YouTube videos may be Lion issues for you but it has nothing to do with Adobe. You might ask about those issues on the Apple Community Forums, or by visiting the Genius Bar at an Apple store.

  • Do i need to pay for os x mountain lion twice

I have an imac and a macbook, if i download OS X mountain lion from the app store, do i need to pay for it twice?

No. You may install on as many computers as you own that are now running Snow Leopard 10.6.8. If you wish to save some time re-downloading Mountain Lion then see:
    Make Your Own Mountain/Lion Installer
    1. After downloading Mountain/Lion you must first save the Install Mac OS X Mountain/
Lion application. After Mountain/Lion downloads DO NOT click on the Install button.
Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the Mountain/Lion installer. Move
the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You
must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes
        installing.
    2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
      a. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
      b. After DU loads select your flash drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left
side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
      c. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the
partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until
          the process has completed.
      d. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side
list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
      e. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the
button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
      f. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to an hour depending upon the flash
         drive size.
    3. Locate the saved Mountain/Lion installer in your Downloads folder. CTRL- or RIGHT-click on the installer and select Show Package Contents from the contextual menu. Double-click on the Contents folder to open it. Double-click on the SharedSupport folder. In this folder you will see a disc image named InstallESD.dmg.
    4. Plug in your freshly prepared USB flash drive. You are going to clone the content of the InstallESD.dmg disc image to the flash drive as follows:
      a. Double-click on the InstallESD.dmg file to mount it on your Desktop.
      b. Open Disk Utility.
      c. Select the USB flash drive from the left side list.
      d. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
      e. Select the USB flash drive volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
      f. Drag the mounted disc icon from the Desktop into the Source entry field.
      g. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
When the clone is completed you have a fully bootable installer that you can use without having to re-download Mountain/Lion.
Note: The term Mountain/Lion used above means Lion or Mountain Lion.
As an alternative to the above (you still have to do your own download of Lion/Mountain Lion) you can try using Lion DiskMaker 2.0 that automates the process of Steps 2 through 4.

  • Database Software for iMac Running Mountain Lion

I just bought an iMac running Mountain Lion. My old computer was a Powerbook G4 (Classic invironment) on which I had Filemaker Pro 8 and loved it. Looks like I cannot install FMP 8 on my new iMac. Looking for alternative software (as FMP 12 is $300.00) for managing databases on my iMac without having to re-enter lots of info. Thanks in advance!

You won't upgrade FMP because why? There are many database programs that run under Mountain Lion, although they may not have any compatibility with FMP. But you can export from FMP.
The database module of Libre Office is similar to Access, but I don't know if it reads native FMP files. OS X comes with a variant of MySQL. Then there are:
    Panorama
    Panorama Enterpprise
    4D v11 SQL
    4D
    Organise
    Organise Pro 7.0.3 Pro
    Bento

  • Can I download Quicken 2007 for MAC using Mountain lion

Downloaded MountainLion w/o checking what programs would be dropped.  Turns out i cannot open my Quicken For Mac 2005
so need to find another system quickly

Intuit has an Intel native version of Quicken for Mac which should work. Do NOT purchase Quicken Essentials for Mac. This is a very watered down junk version of Quicken Intuit released with many of Quicken's features removed.
The hard part is finding the Intel updated version of Quicken 2007 for Mac. You'd swear Intuit is deliberately hiding it. Trying to locate it through Intuit's site is almost impossible. You keep getting sent to the Essentials version. Here's the one you would want. Had to locate the page through Google.

  • Outlook for Mac with Mountain Lion - where are my folders ?

I upgraded to Mountain Lion and the folders I had On My Mac disappeared.  Does anyone know how i can retreive them?  Then how do I import them into Apple Mail as I am done with Outlook.

What is "Windows for Mac software"? Do you mean Office for Mac? If you mean Office for Mac, what version do you have? Mountain Lion only supports Office for Mac 2008 and newer. Mountain Lion does not support any PPC programs. If this is your situation you must upstae your Office for Mac to the newest version.

  • If I downloan Mac osx lion, does that mean that i will have to pay for Mac osx mountain lion

If I download Mac os x lion, does that mean that i will have to pay for Mac os x mountain lion? or will it be like an upgrade for free?
I am just not to sure as to whether I buy it now or later? Please help.
    Thanks.

If you do not find Lion or Mountain Lion features compelling, I recommend you not buy it AT ALL!
10.6.8 works for most of the stuff I do, and I only got 10.7 to play with it.
    If you are using
    Photoshop CS2
    AppleWorks
    Word 2004 or earlier
    Quicken 2007 or earlier
    Eudora 6
    FileMaker 6
look long and hard at 10.7 -- these Applications along with hundreds of other less-popular titles are no longer supported in these versions!!

  • HT204382 WMV for Mac- OS Mountain Lion

I have OS mountain lion. I have downloaded Flip4mac, Flip4 Mac WMV and Adobe Flash Player, but I am still unable to open WMV files from e-mail or from the download folder. Can anyone help? I am quickly losing my love for Macs.

I would second Radiation Mac's recommendation.
VLC is by far and away the least troublesome and most versatile of all the mac media players (I only wish they'd change the icon - never liked that cone, and even less with the Christmas santa hat on it!).

  • Need Blackberry Software For Mac

So here i am working on a mac with os  10.3 (don't ask why, lol) And i can't seem to locate an early enough version of pocketmac to sync up my 8100, or charge or veiw files or much of anything for that matter.
anyone got a link to such a download, or a piece of software that will work on my dino-mac ?

The Blackberry software is listed as compatible with Leopard. Not sure if it works with Snow.
As long as you have an Intel Mac with 1 GB of RAM or better you can run Snow or Leopard.

  • Need accounting software for Mac!

Currently we use MYOB, an app no one provides support for anymore. We were thinking of switching to Quickbooks (I've tried it and don't like it, but we're limited in options!) but we've just received a letter indicating that Intuit is no longer selling this app and will be discontinuing product support after July 31, 2006.
Are there any other Mac compatible accounting apps out there? We really don't want to purchase a Window's machine simply to do our bookkeeping!
    eMac   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

Thanks all, this is handy information.
One reason that neither MYOB or Quickbooks will work for us is that the Canadian divisions are no longer being supported. Yes, the US companies are thriving, but things like tax rates and payroll don't work well when it's a country specific application.
I'll keep checking the product pages - there are some products there that may work for our company.

  • Failure to download Desctop Software for Mac 10.7 Lion

hello, I downloaded Desktop software from Blackberry site but I can not open it ion my Mac OS 10.7.3. It's just shows a picture in previewer.
    What should iI do?
    thanks

You need to get it on DVD. Check sites such as Amazon or eBay for iWork 09 DVDs; if you previously bought a compatible Pages version from the Mac App Store, go to the Mac App Store main page, click on Support under Quick Links, contact Apple, and see what they say.
If your Mac is compatible with 10.9, you can also download Mavericks from the Mac App Store.
