Need Version Of Safari To Go With iTunes!

I need to get a version of Safari at least 4.0.3 or higher that is compatible with Mac OS X, version 10.5.4 to access my iTunes store and update my iPod. Does anyone know where I can get one, because I can only find ones for Leopard and Tiger. Thanks!

you are running Leopard (Tiger would be 10.4.x) !
download and run the [_*Mac OS X 10.5.8 Combo Update*|http://support.apple.com/downloads/Mac_OS_X_10_5_8_ComboUpdate] (repair permissions before and after).
when done, run software update from the  menu and install any updates offered.

  • Resetting Safari causes problems with iTunes

I frequently have to access a problematic Web portal for work that requires me to accept all cookies for it to work properly. So, I've take to periodically resetting Safari to clear out all the tracking cookies that accumulate.
The problem is this: when I reset Safari, iTunes Match stops working (it doesn't throw an error; the icon just changes to a cloud with a lightning bolt inside).
In order to get things working again, I need to log out of both Match and the iTunes store, quit/relaunch iTunes, log back in, re-add the computer, and wait for it to sync before I can use Match again.
Even if, by some distorted sense of programming logic, Apple has linked the browser to it's music player, performing a housekeeping function in one app shouldnot cause an adverse issue in another app.
This issue has been going on for several versions of both apps, and I was hoping it'd be cleared up with iTunes 11, but, nope. I've even reinstalled the OS and started from scratch on one of the machines when I upgraded the hard drive, but the problem persists there, too.
I'm using Safari 6.0.2 on OS 10.7.5 on a Mac Pro, Safari 6.0.2 and 10.8 on both a MacBook Air and a Mac Mini, and have the same issue with all three.
    Annoying, to be sure.
So, after all of that, does anyone know of a workaround that will allow me to clear Safari of unwanted tracking crap without causing all those login issues with iTunes Match?

I only signed up to iTunes Match a couple of days back but am also having this problem on my Macbook Air. I too like to Reset Safari regularly.
As you've noticed, it is the cookies being cleared by Safari which causes this problem. I've gone into the cookies and found apple.com is the one that we need to keep in order to keep iTunes match happy on this device. I've tried to find a way to protect this cookie and exclude it from Reset Safari or Remove All Website Data, but no joy. I can't find a way to do this.
One workaround I have come up with though, is to manually delete the cookies and other website data, whilst keeping apple.com. This may be of no help to you, zeraphoto, as I guess you're looking for a way to do this with one click, such as Reset Safari, but this may be of use to others with less knowledge of cookies.
When you go to Reset Safari, untick Remove All Website Data. This will prevent cookies from being deleted. To clear cookies and other webiste data, go to Safari Preferences, Privacy, then under Cookies And Other Website Data click on Details. Here you will find the sites which have cookies and other website data stored on the device. Simply select all except for apple.com, and hit Remove. iTunes Match will still work.
Like you say though, Apple really need to make iTunes independent of Safari. If it is storing data, it shouldn't be in the general cookies location on the device. It makes no sense.
Apple, please correct this somewhat major flaw.

  • Software version 1.1.2 clashing with iTunes...

    Which is causing many problems.
On Friday (28 November), I finally upgraded the software on my iPod 80gb. As soon as that was completed, iTunes failed to recognize my iPod and told me that I needed a newer version of iTunes. I was running 7.something, I'm sorry I don't remember the exact version.
So, I downloaded iTunes 8.0.2.2. And it refuses to install...getting stuck on "Computing space requirements" and then the computer becomes unresponsive (I'll post about this in iTunes support).
    My question is...
Is there a way to uninstall the last software upgrade on an iPod to go back to the previous version?
Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to give me.

Disregard this question please. I found the solution. It was me being stupid and forgetting to turn AVG off.
    Sorry for the inconvenience!

  • What version of Safari will work with OS X 10.5.8

I am doing the final prep on a G4 powerbook to pass on to a student.   Is Safari upgradeable for this version?  If it can be upgraded, what is the latest download that I should look to install?

Another option that has more current update than obsolete Safari,
is a shareware that will run free (with occasional prompt to buy)
from iCab via download from web site... http://www.icab.de/dl.php
    version: iCab 5.1.1 (13.09.2013)
    (Universal Binary)
    for: Mac OS X 10.5.x - 10.7.x
    (G3, G4, G5, Intel)
direct download: zip (for 32/64 bit)
    http://www.icab.de/download.php?os=UB64&lang=en
I've used this along with other browsers in Leopard 10.5.8 and
find it adequate; yet have not paid the license fee. It works.
    And does not require registration.
    Good luck & happy computing!

the old one and the only option it give me is to erase it so what am i dont know
what do do i mean all my stuth is in both accounts but i dont want to lose any
thing please help and sorry for my bad spelling here is a pic of the problem
    below

    @Kev48us
I appreciate you bringing this to our attention. I can understand your concern as a iTunes and iPhone user.
I do notice that you stated that you restored your computer a few months ago. The files from iTunes are typically stored on your computer in a specific place. If the computer was restored it may have erased these files. Were you able to review your computer to see if these files still exist. For a Windows 7 user these iTunes files can be found under:
    • \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: To quickly access the AppData folder, click Start. In the search bar, type %appdata% and press the Return key.
Keep me posted. I would like to know if any of the information is currently on your computer. If not you will be able to erase and sync.

  • Apple Mobile Device Support version 4 doesn't install with iTunes 10.5

I have not been able to upgrade to itunes 10.5.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled every apple program and when I reinstalled iTunes 10.5 I figured out that the only thing that's not reinstalling is the mobile device support which is required for IOS5.

I have Itunes 10.3.1, I downloaded the 10.5 installation in thin an error occurs:

Bkp I've done, if I uninstall iTunes and install the current 10.5, I will lose data, or it retrieves the BKP.
    Even Apple gave softaware error.

  • How do I update/restore my phone to a different version with no internet access on the machine with iTunes installed?

I have downloaded the version of iTunes needed, and the iOS version I wish to use from work, but am unable to restore the version of iOS as iTunes seems to be blocked at work, and I do not have internet at home, aside from on my phone.
Thanks in advance for the help!
    ~Nathaniel

You can ONLY restore to the latest available software.
If you have ios 5 on your iphone you can update from the iphone itself.
Otherwise you would need to restore from a computer with itunes and the internet.

  • How can I install a version of Safari compatible with MacOS 7.5

At some point I downloaded and installed Safari 6.0.2 on a MacBook Pro (4.1) running OS 10.7.4. When I tried to open it, an error message appeared stating that this version of Safari is incompatible with OS 10.7.x and is compatible with OS 10.8. Since then I updated to OS 10.7.5. After completing the update the iCloud System Preferences automatically opened. Next to the Bookmarks Icon was a button saying "Install Safari." Pushing this button brings me to a webpage that appears to be advertising copy for Safari but seems to lack any option for downloading Safari. Searching for an OS 10.7.5 compatible version I came across a page with quite a number of Safari downloads at Apple - Support - Downloads. This page offers dowloads of Saafari for earlier versions of Safari, but not for an OS 10.7.x compatible version of Safari. What is the solution? If I upgraded to OS 10.8 or OS 10.9 would I gain access to Safari once again? I'd be most appreciative of any help with this issue. Thanks.

  • Syncing with iTunes after iCloud Restore Syncs Unwanted Apps

After I had restored my iPhones using a recent iCloud backup, some of my content such as certain videos and music needed to be installed through syncing with iTunes. All of my apps were arranged and installed as they were before the resoration. I had iTunes set to not automatically begin to sync when I plug in any of my iOS devices, so I can review the device first and then begin the sync. Upon plugging in my iPhone, I checked the applications tab, and all of the apps were arranged the way they were when I would unlock my iPhone; everything seemed normal. It would appear that the content that had not been restored through the iCloud restore would simply be installed though syncing with iTunes. The second I hit sync, iTunes began to restore my iPhone with a very early sync, as many of the apps I had deleted some time ago were being installed onto my phone, and my of the applications added since that specific sync were removed. What can I do to just have iTunes act as it should when finishing the restoration on my phone and not default to a stubborn sync? I'm currently restoring my phone from another recent iCloud backup to have all of my apps and their settings restored to how they were less than 12 hours ago.

First make sure you have the most recent version of iTunes. Use the itunes menu to check for updates and install the latest version if needed.
Reboot your computer and rest your iphone. Press and hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the buttons and let the device restart. No data will be lost doing this. It's like rebooting a computer.

  • My Ipod wont connect with Itunes or my computer

My Ipod touch is charging through my computer, but it's not being seen by Itunes, or by my device manager on my computer itself.
I've tried the troubleshooting suggestions mentioned here... but maybe I missed one... can anyone help?

I'm also having this problem but it seems only to have occurred once I introduced my iPad Mini to iTunes (this may have been coincidental of course!).  The cable I'm using is the one which came with my iPod Touch version 4.2.1 (bought on the 23rd of July 2010) and the cable still charges the iPod as it always has.  I don't have the luxury of being able to try logging in to iTunes on any other computer but I've tried absolutely everything that has been suggested in the support pages.  I really want to delete some of the music from this iPod but I think I need to be able to sync with iTunes to do so.  Is it just that my 3 year old iPod is just too old for the latest version of iTunes?
Any suggestions would be most gratefully accepted.

  • Searching Safari 6.1 with/without caps lock on

Searching Safari 6.1 using the search field at the top of the page gives more restricted suggestions based on history if the caps lock is on vs. the caps lock being off.  This didn't happen in previous versions of Safari.  It also happens in the latest version of Safari that comes with Mavericks as I was able to demonstrate it at an Apple store.  Is there a workaround or preference to choose other than keeping caps lock off ?

Sorry, need to make this clearer.  If you have discussions.apple.com in your history and start entering this to the search field with caps lock on, it will not populate the search field automatically.  If the caps lock is off, it will.
